    Meat Loaf worked with songwriter / lyricist Jim Steinman who has a love of grandeloquent classical music in the vein of Wagner, so a lot of the song end up being broad in scope and very story driven.
    You gotta hear Paradise By Dashboard Lights.

    welcome to the Meatloaf Fan family , once seen and hooked , yes most of the songs are very dramatic, all are sung with outstanding performance by meatloaf and band, try "Good girls go to heaven" or "You took the words right out of my mouth" before you try "Paradise by the dashboard lights" as its a very long song with more dramatic changes.

    Paradise by the dashboard lights and bat out of hell, which is the title track for their 1st album. I would do anything for love is on their 2nd album-back into hell

    Loved your reaction! This song was my introduction to Meat Loaf, almost 30 years ago when I was six years old. I'm pretty sure my face looked something like yours when I heard that incredible, beautiful, soaring Voice of his for the first time.

      @@charlenegodbee1202 yes, it was from his "come back" album, "Bat Out Of Hell II", which was released in 1993(I still have both, the audio tape, and the CD, from the 90's, when they both came out, at different time's, as CD's weren't as big, for album's, in 93'). After Meatloaf did the acting in the British movie, along with I believe 2 or 3 american actor's/actresses, and the rest of the cast being British, that is 1 of the most iconic movie's of the Halloween time era, that theater's host showing's of it, so people can actually come dressed up as the character's, and act out the movie, as it's playing! The movie is called "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Where, Meatloaf play's the motorcycle riding character Eddie...

    Love the way that you did your reaction. You let us enjoy the video without interruption . Too many are constantly pausing the video so they can talk and talk.
    All of Meatloaf's songs are so dramatic and take you on a journey that allows you to feel a part of it.
    Again, thank you for your reaction. You are doing it right.

    The radio edit was cut all the way down to 5:25 - even this is a heavily edited version as the full song is TWELVE MINUTES LONG.
    Meat Loaf and songwriter Jim Steinman were a tour de force when they worked together, though Steinman also had smashes with Bonnie Tyler (Total Eclipse of the Heart), Air Supply (Making Love (Out Of Nothing At All); though Bonnie Tyler did a cover that blows theirs out of the water), and Céline Dion (It's All Coming Back To Me Now). A lot of Steinman's work, both with and without Meat, was intended as part of a massive project which eventually evolved into the "Bat Out Of Hell" musical. And yes - VERY theatrical.
    Also, this video was directed by MICHAEL F'N BAY - though it's clearly Steinman's concept.

    It's always bothered me that two of Lorraine Crosby's versed are cut in the Music Video. It's worth listening to the album version too.

  • @charlenegodbee1202
    @charlenegodbee1202 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It was directed by Michael Bay!!! Also, the scene that the female lead (not the actual singer) is involved with the other three women is taken from " Bram Stoker's Dracula." By Francis Ford Coppola, 1992. The video came out in '93.
    Great video and fabulous song 🎵!!!!!

    The actress is Dana Patrick and her lines were sung by an English singer, Lorraine Crosby who got no credit for her role in the album as her audition was a trial, according to Wiki. In other MeatLoaf videos, you will see an actress lip syncing the music as Ellen Foley who sang all the songs was starring in Night Court and couldn't get time off to tour. Bat Out Of Hell needs to be next! And Paradise By The Dashboard Light too!

    Yes totally, deliciously OTT. Jim Steinman was a musical genius and ML is a force of nature. The combination creates an emotional tsunami (the lyrics, the tempo shifts, the way ML puts everything he has into the delivery). They have been pulling me in and spitting me out the other side since 1977…saying WTH just happened??! Bat Out of Hell, Paradise by Dashboard Lights and Two Out of Three are a must. The official videos are best IMO since seeing ML perform assures the full treatment. Also OTT beautiful is I’m Gonna Love Her for Both of Us. Never seen it reviewed and it just builds and explodes.
