Roy benavidez was the definition of American patriotism and strength. How he did that all after stepping on a landmine is just insane. May he rest in peace. Great reaction guys.
You are right, …”…there ought to be a movie…”, but there is no movie. There’s a bunch of Vietnam war flicks that have been made, but none that depict true-life events such as this hero’s story. There will be one made I predict, but as yet I don’t believe SFC Benavidez has yet been so honored. I’d sure as hell go see it, and I’ll go ahead and recommend it now! We just have to wait until it takes the big screen, and there’s no date yet in mind. God bless SFC Benavides, and Father have mercy on his and his peers souls, and reward them with a seat in your presence. My mom and dad both served during WW2, dad was an infantry soldier, mom was an E-6 US Marine…her job was to equip and send Marines to go to the South Pacific, to confront evil, and kill it! She was a success as were the Marines sent to accomplish the monstrous task of defeating the Japanese. My father’s unit was also successful in running the Japanese out of the No. Pacific-Alaska and back to Midway where we were able to establish maritime superiority, and then ultimately we bombed them into submission…I lost a cousin in the final days of the war when the aircraft he was flying was shot down in the Philippine AO. He was seen bailing out and landing in the jungle-never to be seen or heard from again. God rest your soul Lt. Don Bean, and thank you!
If you see a veteran the best way to honor us is to go to a gravesite of a fallen veteran. Make sure it’s clean, maybe some fresh flowers or clean American flag. That’s how you can honor us for the ones who gave their life. Those are the heroes not us who survived…..✌🏽☮️🤲🙏🇺🇸
I am from Texas and of Mexican descent. I was also a military buff as a child and remember how they denied his metal of honor. Most Mexican-Americans thought it was because he was Mexican. That was just the environment in Texas back then. Oh, his nick name Tango Mike Mike were the phonetic alphabet for T.M.M. (the mean Mexican).
This is why he never got a movie. Bc he's a badass Indio! Notice how few American war movies show Latinos. When in reality Latinos were on the front line
Take the time to look up a few of his post-medal speeches and you will be richly rewarded. He comes across as straight talking, humorous, humble, inspirational, articulate; a truly remarkable figure. Great reaction!
I feel honored to have saluted this hero. I was at event where he was the honored guest. This man is an absolute epitome of a Soldier. The World was lucky to him!
There should be more written about Roy Benavides. Wow! First, he's told that he can't walk. Then, he receives 37 bullet and bayonet wounds. This is a remarkable story!
Because he was in an unpopular war and focused more on pro US & military speaking engagements no one wanted his story. Just about every movie from the Vietnam war focuses on the negative aspects of military service in those times. He has some speeches on-line you can watch that are inspirational no matter how you feel about the military.
Rambo's a wimp compared to Roy Benavidez! Another hero who's story you should watch is Audie Murphy, the most decorated member of the American military in history (he won the Medal of Honor at 19 in WWII) and later became an actor. Murphy even portrayed himself in the movie "To Hell and Back" about his service during the war.
My father didn't talk much about the war, but on a few occasions he tried to tell me about stepping on a land mine and one of his privates laid on his foot and another yanked him away. He never could finish the story or get over it, it was with him his whole life. I think they loved him almost as much as me.
My grandparents were warriors right off the plains 1834-1880's: Aunt's and Uncle's as children, all boy's would start physical training, playing.. girls were participating also,my uncle's would say 😊..a bunch of little warriors would take off for the mountains to play.
They played down the part where he jumps out of the helicopter. The helicopter was above the tree tops and couldn't go any lower, so Roy jumped into the tops and bounced from limb to limb all the way down.
Interesting,we were taught as a kid how to hide(blend in with natural surroundings) stealth, live off the land, show no plain, etc run 13miles to play in the mountains and run back home (marathon).. before we became 13yrs old.. becoming a warrior. Indian Territory (Oklahoma) Indian Nations
There are milady many more equally impressive heroes as this great soldier. In fact there is even a man who earned the Medal of Honor twice and others more heavily decorated for valor. America is not short on heroes. Brittain gives out your glorious Victoria Cross. Our Medal of honor is given out much less and we have many more men to pick from.
Mr ballen has a fantastic and much more detailed and some really great extras in one of his videos about roy , if yall wanna know more about him he is amazing
The young lady looks like she could be my cousin on my mother's side. In that half of my family we are primarily descended from English, Welsh and Scottish. No kidding, the young lady even has the same maneurisms as my aunts.
You need to check out the video of the first medal of honor ever videoed its the true story videoed but a drone as one of our great men fought all night winning 2 medals of honor
One of the reasons America survives as a nation are men like this. I'd rather see elected politicians put in the combat front line units and if they survive combat for a year they are allowed to run for office. It would be a splendid way to keep liars and clowns out of elected office. Afterall, how can one trust politicians in high office who haven't proved bravery and loyalty by defending the country personally over an extended time in combat.
Also watch the True story movies, lone Survivor, hacksaw Ridge, Once we were Soldiers, Blackhawk Down. They are True stories, and have CMH winners. I met him once in the early 90s, when I was stationed at Bragg! U would never know it to look at him, very average sized guy. But what he did, after being wounded in Korea, then almost mortally wounded in Vietnam, then going back, is nothing short of God Jesus and the Holy Spirit, here on earth!
There is one more thing you might not tealize. In the current war of Ukraine versus Russia the very brave soldiers of the Ukraine Army are of course using advanced weapons from multiple counties. But who is it training them to use those weapons? Its the soldiers of those counties from where the weapons are coming from. They are risking their lives to do so. While its Ukrainian troops using these allied systems they are benefitting daily from embedded foriegn NATO troops from many nations. This is the reason Putins Army has basically self destructed and been roughly nuetralized. I am sure some of Brittain's best soldiers are in Ukraine helping fight Russian aggression but naturally its not going to be common knowledge. Think of your unknown British soldiers in war now.
A Texas Legend. Just like Audie Murphy.
YES!
one of the most impressive things is, remember all this was AFTER he stepped on a land mine and wasn't even supposed to walk again.
Exactly! That's what I always say. He went through a lot even BEFORE the "Six Hours in Hell. This man was amazing! Real life superhero.
One of the most badass, hard-core, dangerous human beings to walk the earth.
Roy gave a great speech years ago...you need to look it up. He was a genuine American Badass.
Roy benavidez was the definition of American patriotism and strength. How he did that all after stepping on a landmine is just insane. May he rest in peace. Great reaction guys.
I'm a retired army veteran and former Green Beret. Roy is a legend and understood what it means to be a soldier. TMM, That Means Mexican
I met him during my graduation from the Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer course in San Antonio, Texas!
I was raised in the town he lived. Meet him many times and was a true patriot.

Dr: he's a dead man
Roy: hold my spit Dr
Rest in peace Tango Mike Mike.
This man is from Texas. One reason the signs say Don't Mess With Texas
No one will ever know what we lived in a war.. but glad you share lives of others
They should make a movie. I agree with you on that.

Cierto brother

Few people like Roy Benavidez walk this earth, he was from the rarest of breeds.
Roy Benevidez was truly a man who never gave up.
There are a number of recordings of talks/speeches he made...
they are worth listening to.
Remember, he actually jumped out over the canopy and crashed through the trees. No parachute. Just two big brass ones.
He gave speeches afterwards. I highly recommend watching one. Truly a humble and good man.
Tex-Mex makes for some of the hardest men anywhere in the world.
GOD Blessed that man and watched over him! Amazing!
There should be more written about Roy Benavides. Wow! First, he's told that he can't walk. Then, he receives 37 bullet and bayonet wounds. This is a remarkable story!
A similar story is John Chapman's actions that were recorded from a drone. The first recording of events related to a medal of honor.
Commenting to add visibility. Please react to this.
Seen it a million times
that was recorded, this story is passed down and always ends up getting bigger and more extravagant ever other two months or so
@@usafbonilla21thats bs its a well documented incident nothing about the story has changed ever.

The Vietnam War and its veterans are unjustly hated. The media manipulated public perception at the time and twisted the truth into lies by omission.
There's a lot of Vietnam movies how many have a minority as the main focus.

You should react to him receiving his MOH and one of his speeches. He was truly an inspirational warrior.
You should do a response to his medal of honor speech its stirring.

This is what inspired the Rambo movies
Dead wrong. First Blood was a book.
Total bullshit!
@@heywoodjablowme8120 I said inspired not based on
He was born about 75 moles from where I was born in Texas. I asked a Tx Marine and my Dad who was Air Force and they had all heard of him.
Our Medal of Honor recipients make Rambo look cowardly! Their stories are unbelievable and they are so humble!!
Roy benavidez the real rambo 🇺🇸🇲🇽
It’s that Warrior Native American blood that kept him in the fight. RIP brother
Mexican as well

Love Roy B. Fellow Texan.
After seeing this, I think you'd like the movie "Hacksaw Ridge"
"Benavidez suffered a broken jaw and 37 bullet and bayonet puncture wounds"
Interesting,we were taught as a kid how to hide(blend in with natural surroundings) stealth, live off the land, show no plain, etc run 13miles to play in the mountains and run back home (marathon).. before we became 13yrs old.. becoming a warrior.

That's wild 🤯 what a story!
Definitely a HERO!

Nov. 29, 1998 The gates to Valhalla opened wide everyone there tipped their hat as he walked by.
If u didn’t know RAMBO was kinda based off of him the “ bandanna”the “Bowie knife 🔪” an that he was a “green beret” he’s the true embodiment of a Hero
Rambo wasn't based on him, so stop the bullshit?
Definitely check out the “one eyed scout who liberated a whole town himself”
That's who Rambo was based on. Plus he was Texas tough
His acceptance speech is amazing.
There’s footage of him receiving the medal on TH-cam from the president.
"Hows he holding his intestines in?"
Aidens never looked too deep into the internet then? Lol
he lived in a town 30 miles from
me
I don't know how there isn't a blockbuster movie about him yet. I not aware of one anyway
there is...Maybe you have heard of Rambo? The character is kinda based on him.

Rumor was it was two helicopters that rescued the men, one just for Roy's balls.....oorah

The movie Rambo was based on Roy benavidez they exaggerated it for the movie but that's where they got the idea of for the movie
Total bullshit! Rambo has nothing to do with Roy Benevidez.
Sylvester stallone john rambo character was some part inspired by this guy
Of course there is no Movie, he was Mexican
You have to watch his acceptance speech. It's a more detailed story. My father had met him once while he was in the army.
This was the real life Rambo
God keeps us alive when we rationally shouldn't be.😢😮
Tango Mike Mike (That Mean Mexican)
There are some outstanding fighters in the world, they usually die in combat. It is best to not stand in their way.
Just so you know he didnt die from any of those injuries. After all that he died from Diabetes.
YOOO would yal watch Mrballen?
