- On National Medal of Honor Day, we partnered with the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center to share the story of Vietnam War Veteran Master Sgt. Roy P. Benavidez, U.S. Army (Retired).
HE WAS ONE HELL OF A SOLDIER, TRULY GREAT MAN!!
Just one medal? This man deserved much more than that. What an incredible story.
99.9% of Americans have never heard of Roy Benavidez and his incredible story...but they should!!
But they know TH-camrs
Need a movie like Audie Murphy
Another to hell and back
google this man. What he did borders on the superhuman. He is an outstanding American and human being.
Amen.
I wish all of us Americans could be half the man he is.
Super dedicated to his fellow comrades
Yep. The finest traditions of military service.
I barely found this video, but its times like these that makes me forget my self, its real stories like this that makes me not forget those who died in all U.S wars.
May all R.I.P
My dad was.a registered nurse from the Philippines he was Roy Benavidez nurse in Medical unit in U.S Subic Naval Base in the Philippines he was getting treated for his wounds .
Unbelievable what a man respect.
Steven Spielberg. Please make a movie about this hero. EVERYONE should know his story.
These are the people kids should learn about in school! This video should have 100 million views minimum.
Roy Benavides, was a true 1 man gang. He spent 2 years in v. A. Hospital healing from his wounds. He then returned to green berets.
That man is a legend. Salute and respect!
Superhuman
How is possible I never heard about Mr Benavidez!!! a real hero😮 where is Hollywood???😡😡😡
Hollywood is garbage for the most part.
This man is a true hero. I hope to be a quarter of a man he is. Maybe someday…
God bless him and his family.
@@BetaBuxDelux no he was a the worse that Hollywood wants American Mexican and also a Texan and he loves the U.S.A.....but drug dealers are cool
I recall the respect President Reagan spoke with for Sgt. Benevidez then but I was too young to understand it. I am old enough now. Lord bless you and your family, sir. Thank you. 🙏🕊️
Roy benevidas is my all time hero! Dude was a machine. He was my idol throughout my time in the United States army
I’m reading Roy’s book called Legend. This man needs a movie and everyone needs to know who this man is and what he did for his fellow brothern and country.
I've been reading and watching everything that I can about this amazing man. I wish I had just a tiny bit of his courage. I'm not an American but I salute you, sir. My respect for you is at its zenith! 🙏🏽
never meet this man - but I love him and his attitude... reminds me of my father
I miss serving with people like this man. I truly loved serving my country!
a great American Hero who passed away too young.
This guy is a The epitome of Balls of Steel. The Man. An Awesome individual
Wowzer ! ! ! Amazing what Shear Will in a Human can produce. RIP Roy P. Benavidez.
We need a movie
That man had a fucking iron will. One of the most badass Soldiers in US Army history. RIP. ❤ 🫡
In 2018 Clint Eastwood made a movie (3:17 to Paris) about 3 servicemen who took down a terrorist on a train in Europe. This is the fastest I have seen Hollywood make a movie from a current incident. They know how and when to cash in. Yet, from the time Roy Benavidez was in this horrific battle to the time he was awarded the Medal of Honor was 13 years. 55 years later I am still waiting for Hollywood to make a movie. I have read several citations for the MOH and this is by far the most awesome sample of true heroism. Move over Audie.
Let's be honest here if he were white it would already be done. Just being honest.
"15:17 TO PARIS"
How’s about we tone it down and say take a seat with Audie. Two true heroes! Cheers my friend.
A absolutely hero this is what a real man is
This reminds me of a WWII story during a naval engagement. The Admiral stood on the bridge of his carrier looking off over the sea. While waiting for planes he knew would never return, he quietly wondered to himself: "Where do we find such men?"
One of many heroes thank you Mr Benavides.
Why did this only have 446 views and less than 300 total subscribers!?!
The original video' does not - this group is using the original video - but did not exist then or - didn't make the original video.
Their are a few videos of this man on TH-cam - I recommend you watch - he certainly very entertaining.
This organization is just showing a documentary of their main focus if there mission - using known source material - reason for the low volume - few people watch documentaries, they personally prefer watching a game of tennis over learning true history
Welcome home and thank you so so much for your service sir.🙏🏻👊🏻🇺🇸
He's the man!
A real hero of mine.
God bless this man.
His story is so much deeper than what is shown here. Read more about him, its amazing!
I read the complete story causing my jaw to hit the f****** floor I couldn't believe it, and listened to Roy's take on those 6.hours of HELL,truly an angel in fatigues for the wounded needing EXTRACTION.
Slow hand salute Sir
Considering the mention of TS classified documents , was the team part of MACVSOG? And was he in MACVSOG at the time?
The warrior spirit in one man.
Don't know why Fort Hood cant be renamed after him?
I've been saying the same thing on social media but they (dunno who) chose a general instead of an NCO! This is bull and I'm disappointed about that.
Spitting in the dr.s face is so badass haha
Honestly take a moment to really think about, perseverance through some many wounds, this guy got shot multiple times, grenade fragments, a brutal strike from the buttstoke of a AK, then stabbed in the arm with a bayonet, this is similar to a Navy Seal who was wounded 27 times but refused to go down, this is absolutely remarkable, and it warms my heart that from what I can gather Roy was highly respected and he at least got that respect he deserved after his tough years when he was young
When I was stationed in Panama with the US Army in 1987, MSG Benevides came and gave a speech. 😊
RIP Brother Roy 👍🏻💯🙏🤝🇱🇷
Thank You.
I’ve just read what this man done in 6 hours. Wow
My name and title is United States Diplomat Larry Kuchenmeister (U.S.M.C.) so many did Heroic Acts and Actions 🇺🇲 this War was so misunderstood yes it was a Police Action The Vietnam War Police Action is the base of what Police Work is.
I earned (not awarded through descion) my Medal of Honor Medal of Valor and The Navy Cross documented on my Letter of Appreciations keeping Law and Order during the Cold War to keep Our Vietnam War Police Action an Action of Police Work not to be in Vein for any.....
"We The People" is what Vietnam War was about, we knew The World was getting smarter and the ruthlessness of other Countries had to be stopped "Semper Fidelis"
✌️🇺🇲✌️
Surely this is a story for a biopic movie. Hats off to the Sergeant!!
Hooah! Mean Green Fiighting Machine!
Great warrior 💪
A great AMERICAN who SERVED his COUNTRY!
He was a tough war fighter hero
It’s a shame he had to fight to be recognized and to be awarded this medal.
He didnt have the right skin tone and last name. If he was blonde, blue eyed and from Iowa his CMH would have been awarded to him ASAP.
I serve @ Ft Polk La. Back in 80 and they had a parade for him for lunch he sat with the troops and I met him it's an honor to sat and hear his brutal story I will never forget a true Hispanic Rambo!
WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN S MOVIE ABOUT THIS MAN!
He is better than Rambo
Rambo copied Roy Benavidez
This man's actions ,testimony are AWE INSPIRING, His TENACITY and SELFLESS acts are RARE in today's world,So REMEMBER MSG Roy Benavidez TODAY .
When i went to basic they never mention him
Real American hero!!!
They should name a fort after this man a great soldier and leader
There should be a movie made about him.
I went to his funeral
Roy Benavidez. The real thing. Not everybody can say they spit their way out of a body bag. A real story not made up in Hollywood but should be told. Roy P. Benavidez the pride of Mexican Americans.
Oliver Stone should be the director to make a movie about this True American Hero !!!
They should make a movie about this Man this the real Rambo he had to have Mexican blood my respects rest in peace
Lol why
The fool that clubbed him from behind made a fatal mistake on that day. He didn't know he was messing with the real John Rambo!
What a man. Glad he’s not around to see woke America.
Why?
We need men like him
Shut your dumb ass up, what you call woke America is what all veterans serve for. What you term woke is what the constitution stands for. Freedom, equality for all regardless of gender, diversity & change. Every service man gives an oath to protect & defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign & domestic. Enemies like you, bigots, misogynistic assholes & racists.
If The Terminator and RoboCop had a baby
It would be called Roy Benavidez
I have a feeling more than us Texans gonna find out exactly who this man is. Roy Benevidez. Google that.
He did all these incredible things after been declared a criple for life by some Dr.😮
🇺🇲🎶Silver wings upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men will test today
But only three win the Green Beret🎶🇺🇲
Fuckn legend
Tango Mike Mike
Ehy haven't they made a movie about this guy or other Latino American soldiers. I wonder if it's just a bias thing 🤔
Doesn’t have SHIT on Master Sgt. Roy Benavidez
AMERICA BITCH 🇺🇸 🦅
BMF
trump says what it in for him 😔
If he's Mexican he's also of indigenous people not just his mother. Any person of Mexican descent that's tanned is of indigenous people. Got it?!
Mexican is just a nationality. Not every Mexican has native blood.
He was a Yaqui Indian
