    Came looking for what’s ICM. Watched one other video. Fedor somebody 🤔. Yours, this, is much easier FOR ME to understand. Nice job 🤙🤙

    Interesting video. What would you think about this hand, happened to me yesterday in a big tournament on the moneybubble; UTG ~16bb minraises (he had raisefolded quite a bit before), UTG+2 who is one of the biggest stacks (i think he had around 80-90bbs) at the table 3bets 2,5x, I'm in middle pos with AQs and between 25 and 30 bbs. My thoughtprocess were that the bigstack 3bets a lot of worse hands since there is huge ICM-pressure, and I block his aces, AK:s and QQ:s, so I jam, UTG folds and the big stack calls with QQ, he holds and I bubble the tournament. Is my play a huge punt or is it ok given the explanation? Thanks for a great video.

    ive been in some Knarly Pressure games where no one has made a move for what would almost be 10+ hands in some cases. Where everyone was folding to raises. Its interesting to hear you explain this after Ive been in a few.

    So glad I stumbled across your channel this morning. I hear Jonathan little talk about you and how much praise he has for your game. Can’t wait to spend all day watching your stuff!

    I swear I bubble so much that I really think I am subconsciously doing it to myself. Seriously, I am the 1st place loser so often and I have a large enough sample size that I know it's really me that's causing it. I know that's not a lot of info, but does anyone have some general advice for me? Thanks Yall!

      Exact description of my online play. You're not alone brother. I started playing super loose and cashed a few times. I attribute it more to luck than anything else.

      This likely means your play is stronger deep stacked. Also, your play is stronger vs average players. Around the bubble stacks get shallower and the skill level of all remaining increases.

      Good rule of thumb is around the bubble narrow your range much smaller and literally fold and you will make the money much much more

    Every tournament I play online it seems like everyone is just going balls to the wall! Overly aggressive. Rebuy after rebuy after rebuy. I don't know how some of these guys expect to make $$ after all the rebuys..

    ICM strategy is required to get into the money which means to play quality hands that you're willing to adjust or fold during the run out of the cards,also judging each player by their stack size to determine you're aggressive or passive strategy when the goal is to enter the money levels of the tournament. is that the ICM ??

    In a tournament it is possible to correctly fold pocket aces preflop, if you agree you understand ICM, if you think that scenario is impossible you don’t understand ICM.

    • @SergioRodriguez-bq2wq
      @SergioRodriguez-bq2wq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was such a difficult concept to implement in my game. The cash game mentality made me bust on the bubble so many times for just a coinflip. It takes discipline to fold semi premium/ premium hands to cash in guaranteed instead in a few orbits.

    • @janrintjema787
      @janrintjema787 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I ran into pocket deuces with my aces vs a bigstack...guy hit a deuce on the river. So yeah I guess I understand ICM now. It was right after the bubble so I only mincashed. :P

      In a tournament with a normal payout structure I feel specifically aces can never fold if the goal is to maximise ev. Help me out if I’m wrong here. In flat payout structures (satellites) what you say holds hundred percent true 🙂

    • @HoangTruong-vk7ek
      @HoangTruong-vk7ek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@richardsundberg8804 not really if youre near the bubble 2-3 places from the money you're in the bb facing a 3bet and 4bet shove and they both have you covered its a fold. It's much better shoving AJ and get 1 caller than shoving aces and have 3 callers. Especially on the bubble.

    • @acealexander6852
      @acealexander6852 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HoangTruong-vk7ek That situation is only viable if it's life changing money for you or something. If you're looking for the WIN it's still an extremely rare situation to fold aces.
