    I got my 2013 Ford Fusion 2.0 AWD Ecoboost Titanium in the winter of 2012. I have 86,000 miles on it and no major problems so far . The best things I like about this car is the style, ride, tech and how damn comfortable it is inside. The car truly is a looker and almost 10 years it still holds up . Its just a damn good good looking car. Some things I dont like about it and its a big one. When the engine is cold the shifts are really noticible to the point that I dont have confidence the trans will last to 110,000 miles. I love almost everything about this car and have had it for almost a decade but the transmission at least in mine is super iffy. It rips on sport mode though It pulls like a V6.

    • @BANANAHAMMER420
      @BANANAHAMMER420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the 2010 fusion sport AWD with the 3.5 and it was nice but traded it in for the 2019 titanium eco boost AWD and it feels just as powerful. Definitely linking the fusion line from Ford. I'm a little iffy about the trans as well because of the turn knob instead of the gear shit selector. Hopefully it will last...but either way I'm loving the new ride.

    Solid review! I have a 13' SE 1.6 Ecotech with 175,000 miles. Most reliable car I've ever owned. Aside from 7500 mile Mobil One changes and tires the only thing it's needed was a evap purge valve around 60k (covered under warranty), a spring on the gas door (also warranty), and a battery at 160k. Love the ecoboost low end torque. Car is happy to climb hills in 6th gear doing 70+ and turning 2500 RPMs. I'll be passing it down to my son at 200k with a used 19' or 20' Hybrid Titanium.

    The Bad: The 6-Speed 6F35 Automatic transmission. I had to replace mine at just 101,000 miles.
    I like everything else about the car, especially the body style. Even after more than 7 years, it still looks great. It has aged very well. While Toyota, Honda, Kia and Chevy 2013 model-year sedans look outdated, the Fusion still turns heads. Of course, mine has a few minor mods (steeda lowering springs, Chipecko Side Body Moldings, modified front grille) but they make a big difference.

    • @LuisRamirez-ln3cj
      @LuisRamirez-ln3cj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LLANTALOBOTOMIK I bought one on ebay that had 60,000 miles for $850 (including shipping to shop of my choice). Plus $550 to have it installed at a reliable transmission shop. Getting the transmission fully rebuilt would have set me back $3,400 with a one year full warranty. I was in between jobs, so that price was out of my budget, but I still needed the car. As you know, buying used car parts is a bit on a gamble, but if you check up on the selling company, you can confirm they're dependable. Oh, and don't try to buy one of the so-called remanufactured transmissions. Most are super shady according the online reviews. And they cost no less than $3,000. Good luck, man. If you have the money, know of a good trans repair shop and plan to keep the car for a long time, rebuild it.

    Hey Rob, new subscriber here. Great video. I just traded in my 2005 F250 6.0 about 4 days ago for a 2015 1.5 Fusion SE with 70K on it. Really like it so far. They had to replace an emission sensor and spark plugs as it had a misfire reading and there was also 2 safety recalls on it which Ford took care of. It is good to hear for the most part the positive feedback you give.
    I have always done most of my own maintenance and was surprised to find out these do not have a way to check the transmission fluid and they don't have a filter. What is your view on this matter? The reason I am asking is I have always changed the fluid and filters every 50K. Have a great day. One more thing, I noticed my instrument panel is different from your. Mine has a tach on the left and speedometer on the right.

      That’s awesome - I was going to get a loaded SE with AWD but once I saw the 19s I had to get a Titanium. The SE 18” rims look good too though and I could’ve always purchased aftermarket wheels later on. My Fusion has been very reliable so I think it’s a good buy. It’s hard to say if it’s a good investment with the way cars depreciate but you’ve paid a lot of the depreciation already so if you like it and want to keep it I would buy your current one rather than leasing another Fusion. That’s just my opinion though

    From an owners perspective. My grandma leased a 2016 Ford Fusion SE in ruby red paint exterior with tinted windows and has the technology package with sync 2 touchscreen and rear sensing system and Sirius XM radio. Has the built in blind spot ford mirrors and the turn signal mirrors. Has the 16 inch alloy wheels and the ruby red paint looks so good and pretty on it. My grandma got this at 120miles on the odometer brand new and this car sat at a dealership for 4 months before it was bought. This also has the normal 2.5L and averaged 25.0 MPG throughout the 3 years of the ownership. My grandma is turning this in tomorrow. Has about 44,000 miles and got inspected today. She only has to pay for the excess mileage and no damage done to the vehicle so far. It’s been a great car and my grandma replaced it with a brand new 2019 Nissan Rogue SL with the premium package. Has the rear sensors. Back up camera with around view monitor. Has the gunmetal gray exterior with the panoramic sunroof and the premium package. Has fog lights and LED lights. Has cameras on the mirrors, windshield and the rear. Has the push to start, remote start and power tailgate. It has all the new safety features and it’s very loaded and it’s the top of the line SL and has every single option except for the AWD and the ambient lighting. Was a $34,620 SUV and she got a 3 year lease on it. Has the heated steering wheel and heated seats. Also has navigation Sirius XM radio and Bose audio system . Black leather interior. Carbon fiber door handles. Has the 18 inch alloy wheels with the new Nissan spokes. Has steering assist, blind spot monitoring. Brake assist, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection. Rear automatic braking system. And a foot activated power tailgate. This car is some much more nicer than her fusion. She loves her fusion but she wanted an SUV and something different and she got one now. I forgot to say that the her Nissan Rogue gets better gas mileage to. Gets 27.0 average. Has an ECO mode and sport mode. ECO mode helps it get better gas mileage. When I drove it a few times I liked this Rogue and it’s got the d cut steering wheel and it’s a very sporty and higher up SUV and it’s nicer to drive it because it’s fully loaded and it’s nice. Has the 2.5L with 170HP. I think this Rogue is faster than her fusion IMO because when I drive her fusion it’s peppy but it isn’t as fast off the line compared to my 2010 Toyota Camry LE with the 169HP 2.5L I4 with dual VVT-I and SMPI. My Camry would still beat her Rogue but her Rogue is 2-3 seconds faster than her fusion.

    I bought a first production 2013 SE model and unfortunately my car was a bit of a lemon, by 50,000 km (not miles!!!!) I had used my factory warranty for 7 visits, issues with the capless gas tank, issues with turbo turbines, leaking moonroof, and so on with recall upon recall for safety and other features 😭
    All that said - I would totally buy the 2018 which seems to have fixed so many issues, the fusion fit my lifestyle, was a good size (bit big for downtown Toronto driving, but you get used to it after a little while if you’re used to smaller cars), and Ford’s ‘pick and choose’ of options made it so easy to optimize and customize it to me.

    CR dropped reliability ratings of 2017 from above average to the lowest rating? Electrical issues. Could the window bounce back issue be causing this? I had this problem. Dealer played dumb. I found five tech bulletins. Demanded they be followed. Problem solved.
    Mine is 2017 Platinum. Fine car. Great ride. One year in. No other problems. As you say, I still like looking at it. People walk over and just stare at it.

    • @gianmariavolonte4315
      @gianmariavolonte4315 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The biggest problem the 2017 models had was the battery drain issue. Early production models had an issue with the ACM (audio control module) causing the battery to drain. I'd be a bit weary of CR's reliability ratings. Although the ratings are based on actual, verified owners of the vehicle and legitimate concerns, they also factor in trivial complaints by people.

    • @paulstein9258
      @paulstein9258 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GianMaria Volonte I agree. Also, per CR, over 3% issues causes a bad reliability rating. It’s a comparison to all new cars. That means 96 % of owners could be problem free, and it is still rated unreliable. Mine is one year old next week. I’m still amazed how everything works so well.

    So..... Let me start by Saying, I love my 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium, Gray! 3yrs 63,000 miles. Love everything about it. EXCEPT!!! My car transmission sucks, had trouble with lagging when shifting. My car had sensors replaced, purge valve and now the transmission. I'm forever sad, idk if I got a bad car. This all happen within the last 4 months, so I'm paying for a car that keeps going back to the dealership for repairs or recalls!.They should totally recall the car for the transmission. Thank God for my extended warranty with the purchase of GAP insurance. Trade in or re-sale value it really devalues this car! My heart hurts to having to let go of my dream car because Ford let me down! Have your transmission check!!!!

In 2017 I bought an F150 powered by the 2.7 ecoboost, it’s a rocket ship that is comfortable, quiet and for what it is gets great fuel economy! As soon as the Star Bucks crowd goes back to cars Ford will be back in the car business.

      Deucealive75 As of Nov. 25 2018 Not even 2 weeks after you left your comment I was rear ended while sitting at a traffic light and USAA went ahead and totaled her out. Smh! After 2 months with a rental and waiting for my claim to be settled and have the remaining $13K on my loan paid off I went and looked at some Fusions, even made an offer on one but ultimately at the last minute I found myself test driving a 2017 NISSAN Maxima SL with 17K miles and decided to buy it. Sooo Unfortunately No more Fusion For Me! I miss having a bunch of space in the Fusion. I miss the tuxedo Black speckled paint, also how beautiful she looked with the 19” black 5 spoke rims on her. She was beautiful I can’t say it enough. Today is Feb 12, 2019 and I’ve had my new Maxima for about a month now and it’s a really nice car, quick as hell too. I’m happy with it but I should’ve waited a bit and went with a Fusion I could’ve gotten a brand new 2018 or even 2019 for what I paid for the Maxima.

    800 for rear brakes sounds like you got taken. You should not have to replace the rotors at less than 100k miles unless something weird is going on. If you need new pads, they can re-surface the rotors and get more life out of them. Rotors can be resurfaced at least once without going under the minimum thickness and needing replacement.

    • @TheTestDrive
      @TheTestDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same thing but the brakes were pulsing really badly which rotors will do if they are below spec. I’m probably going to have to replace the front pads soon so we’ll see how those rotors are looking.

    • @bml33
      @bml33 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If rotors are pulsing they are out of spec - out of round - and should be resurfaced. There's usually enough material to cut them down once during their lives. There's no additional labor to put a new one in but there's a big incentive for them to sell you a new pair. Your service department might have just been lazy and wanted to make that sale & put new ones in. Of course there's no way for us consumers to know for sure. This is what is bad about car service. Also if your rotors were really pulsing badly at a fairly young mileage I wonder if there's something wrong or you are just driving hard. I've had 2 Ford Mustangs and Ford's rotors were better than GM's, never warped.

    • @MiguelRPD
      @MiguelRPD 3 ปีที่แล้ว
