Hi Sandra, happy to see you back after taking time for your newest family member! As a fellow Canadian (Sask) would you consider doing an in depth video on setting up an Etsy store for a canadian seller. Things like setting up your customer base, rules for selling to different provinces, taxes, business name, selling to other countries, US or CAN $$, etc. Most videos are showing how to set up the details for a US based seller. Love your videos, I have been a long time subscriber to your channel!

@@SandraDi Thanks so much, I will be looking forward to the video, so many questions about setting up a new store and with the new rules that Etsy has now implemented such as the 15.00 non refundable fee and holding back payments for new stores and seeing so many people saying their Etsy store was just shut down with no explanation I definitely want to be on the right track from the beginning.

@@cgc2300 You're absolutely correct! Both eBay and Amazon operate on a commission-based model where they take a percentage of your sales as a fee for using their platform. However, they typically do not charge sellers to list products on their platforms. This commission-based structure allows sellers to list their products and only incur fees when they make a sale, making it a cost-effective option for many businesses. Additionally, eBay and Amazon offer a wide reach and access to a large customer base, which can help sellers maximize their sales potential.
Once again, another good video. Can I build a blog with Canva? I've searched TH-cam and I can only find videos creating banners, templates etc. Is this a good topic for you to do a video on?
They have a website feature but it’s not a full website where you can add a blog. If you are new to websites and don’t have a lot of tech skills I recommend Squarespace.
Do you have something on creating the instructions to be included with the digital download (both printable and non printable) how specific do you need to get for the different types of mobile devices and computer/laptops? Meaning after they find where their downloaded file is, where they save it to for its best use. Do you give specifics, recommendations and so forth? This is what I am stuck on for my products, not sure how much detail to include for Android users and MAC OS. If you have examples in one of your videos already, that would be great. thanks so much!

Hi, loved your video! I’m actually focusing on selling educational printables for kids but do you think Etsy might notice if I shift some of my listings to selling Canva templates but still targeted for kids? Like kid birthday invitations, or baby shower invites, etc.? Or do I have to stick on making educational printables only? Please let me know your thoughts.
I have been thinking about starting etsy and would love to sell digital and printer planners but I am so nervous to start cause its such a saturated niche and im worried i wont be able to rank in search and im worried that im going to spend my time and energy on something and not been seen and make sales
This is so relatable! It's probably one of the most common fears. I totally understand - that's why I always recommend researching before starting. I would never suggest getting into a very saturated niche, otherwise it's very difficult to rank as a new seller. Try using the keywords feature to help you narrow down to less competitive niches as a starting point and go from there :)
Yes I recommend 1 niche per shop! It's definitely harder to manage so I always suggest starting with 1 shop and dedicating all your time to it. Build it up and learn how to make consistent sales. Then you can open another when you're ready. Hope that helps!
Another awesome video! Thank you! Can you elaborate on how you find inspiration for your designs? I know a lot of it is done through research, but I wondered if you had another process. I don't have a single creative bone in my body so I find myself just staring at an empty artboard desperately trying to think of designs. I have a massive list of the types of products I want to create, but I have no idea on the designing aspect, e.g. making a template more "you" rather than using it as it is without changing anything (which I know isn't the done thing anyway). Help! 😂
This is such a great question and I actually answer that in detail in my upcoming video next week!! But just to answer your question now, I create an "inspiration board" or "inspiration folder" full of designs I find on Etsy, Pinterest, Google, etc. to spark new ideas in my mind. I do this to see if I can spot any trends, patterns, color, etc. that shoppers are already gravitating towards and come up with my own unique spin. I hope that helps for now until my video is up!
Oh great! I'll look forward to that then. 🎉 Another related question then, slightly trickier - if you were to use a template, for example, how do you make it your own? I mean in terms of the styling; I find it very hard to come up with a 'new' idea and end up making something that looks identical to the source material! Maybe my imagination is lacking, but once I see an image, I find it hard to recreate it in a different way. If any of that made sense! 😂 Even when it comes to thinking up prompts to use in AI creation. It's SO frustrating!
Hi Sandra, you say to target one type of customer who has one type of problem and give a solution, so, I sell printed and shipped art prints, all different but with an Irish theme so what sort of problem would my customers have?
Can you please make a video or maybe just comment (if you have time of course 😊) as to why you use Etsy and not platforms like Stan store to host your digital products?
Yes absolutely! Etsy is perfect when getting started because they make it so easy to open a shop and list digital products for sale. And they also have their own internal traffic that you will benefit from :)
@@SandraDi also Sandra- are you still using marmalead for keyword research or just using Alura now? I just don’t want to pay for multiple. 😂 thank you in advance! 😊

Well unfortunately or fortunately the world moves on. Many jobs have been replaced by automation or AI in the past, why being an artist makes it special? Every craft at some point lost or partially lost it’s value due to technological progress. I am an artist myself and the best strategy is to find the way how you can incorporate this into your work otherwise you won’t survive. Also the same tech progress actually helped being an artist and created huge shortcuts, like having digital brushes, being able to erase things etc etc. Something that artists never could have done in the past
@@RebelDiaries101 being an artist is special. Why would you want to live if you can't express yourself ? If you can't create ? If you can't use your imagination ? What will you do ? Are you just going to stay here on earth and just do nothing ? When we are talking about artists, we're not only talking of drawing and painting, but also video making, acting and voice acting, musicians and the list goes on. It's something that we enjoy doing, it's not like it was a chore or something. It's a passion. I'm sorry but if AI is going to take our passion away, then there's just no point in living.
@@yuna4062 that was not my point. You can still create a physical art AI didn’t replace it yet , many ways to express yourself without competing with AI. My point was the digital art being replaced by AI is a natural course of direction looking at other crafts and professions. It’s also called digital art for a reason 😅

Great content! as the world crisis progresses the smartest thing people do lately is building a strong investment that isn’t controlled by the government. Like digital currencies.
That’s really interesting! I’ve been thinking about investing in digital currencies lately but wondering how to do it, do anyone have any thought on that?
My only problem is FEAR!!! AGH… the procrastination to justify and hide my fear… I am 58 and need a suplemental income yesterday… and… the technology and the not being able to deal with setbacks because I don’t have the energy to do so, and not understanding … I watch your videos and there is always something I cannot do in the process of organizing myself to do it. Anyways… I keep trying to find the courage😅 One day😂/agh… menopause!!!
Don't let fear stop you. I was scared to start my Etsy shop last year. But I'm glad I did. I've had over 700 sales and I'm coming up on 1 year at the end of March. Sandra has great advice. Take the leap. You don't want to look back in a year and wish you did.
This is so relatable in many ways. I personally relate from the fear aspect of it all because it takes up so much time and energy and we don't know what's going to work and what's a waste of time! I totally get it. Especially dealing with the tech. I'm actually awful with tech believe it or not!! I have to watch multiple tutorials before I understand how something works lol take it slow and one day at a time. Set very small realistic goals for yourself every day without putting pressure on it to work. It'll make the process more enjoyable 😊
Great tutorial. Yes I would love a video on doing clipart but with Canva or with another Free program like Procreate I think it is. Thank you again Sandra
Hi Sandra, I love your videos they are really helpful. Let me ask you, I have an Etsy account just my personal use and in the past year I tried to put some of my crochet earrings in there and so far no sales. I'm trying to change the niche and work really hard with some new niche. What do you think is better delete everything I have in there and start a new shop from what I have or create a new one? thanks :)
You are literally misleading propaganda so bad… it’s NOT easy… people just started do NOT make that money and you are just making money with affiliates here😢
Do do you suggest to target only one type of product on a digital shop? But how do you know what's is going to work if you don't put different listings there?
Hi! No I recommend different products, but all should serve the same target customer. For example if your target customer is brides, you can sell invitations, menus, seating charts, tags, etc. I hope that makes sense!
It's important to drive external traffic to your shop as well, and for this I recommend using Pinterest and building an email list :). I have videos on my channel discussing these topics!
Thank you for this video! This is great. I learnt a lot & will make a start. I was just wondering if it’s worth having an Etsy store or just have a website? I only ask as some people I know have started new stores & they have been shut down. I am keen to hear your advice/thoughts. Thank you for your time.
Hii!! As a new seller, I personally recommend starting on Etsy first because they make it really easy to open up a shop quickly and you can rely on some of their traffic and existing audience. You'll also learn so much about marketing and target customers that you can then implement into your own website in the future. Hope that helps!

@@RebelDiaries101 yeah that's true...
But honestly I'm pretty sure AI will replace traditional art too.
why png and not jpeg?
You can mention is Etsy free to sell I don’t think so? That would be the main thing also mention at video start if so
It costs 20 cents to upload each listing, but you can get your first 40 listings uploaded for free if you use someone's referral link :)
I have the Premium, but I do not have the advance feature.

Thank you for the feedback!! Will do!
GREAT video thank you...I love how you use AI. This is the only time I've seen AI used that i find actually pretty cool
when you say PNG files, do you mean vector art? PNG is simply a file format.
Yes thank you! I meant vector files for clipart, stickers, etc :)
@@SandraDi thank you!
Great content! as the world crisis progresses the smartest thing people do lately is building a strong investment that isn’t controlled by the government. Like digital currencies.
That’s really interesting! I’ve been thinking about investing in digital currencies lately but wondering how to do it, do anyone have any thought on that?
To avoid losses as a and enhance profits as a newbie you’ll need to consult a professional
Thank so much for the advice do you recommend any professional ?
Yes I do recommend Kimberly Jane Carl
Please how do I reach out to her? I’m in need of her assistance.
Thanks Sandra..ba you been quiet for sometime gal
Yess I just had a baby a few months ago and slowly now getting back into content creation 😊!
Wow.. that's more amazing..congrats.. about the baby.. she or he should be as beautiful..
I just don’t know how they earn money they sell very chip. 2000 image for $4.99
Why not creating png files on Canva?
The quality is not that high unfortunately
Really happy to see you ☺️. Congrats on your baby.
Aww thank you so much!! ❤️❤️
Menopause!!! It's so exhausting... You'll get there.
Don't let fear stop you. I was scared to start my Etsy shop last year. But I'm glad I did. I've had over 700 sales and I'm coming up on 1 year at the end of March. Sandra has great advice. Take the leap. You don't want to look back in a year and wish you did.
You got this! 🎉
My 84 year old mum can do it, you can do it
Wonderful video as always 😊❤
Thank you for watching!! ❤️
Until their accounts are suspended for no reasons.
Amazing, thank you!
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial. Yes I would love a video on doing clipart but with Canva or with another Free program like Procreate I think it is. Thank you again Sandra
You're so welcome!! And thank you for the feedback ❤️❤️
Hi Sandra, I love your videos they are really helpful. Let me ask you, I have an Etsy account just my personal use and in the past year I tried to put some of my crochet earrings in there and so far no sales. I'm trying to change the niche and work really hard with some new niche. What do you think is better delete everything I have in there and start a new shop from what I have or create a new one? thanks :)
it's deplorable and alarming that real artists are literally being competed with by AI, leaving no room for authenticity and creativity anymore
How do we increase interest in our products?
It's important to drive external traffic to your shop as well, and for this I recommend using Pinterest and building an email list :). I have videos on my channel discussing these topics!
Subtitles please 😢
Thank you for this video! This is great. I learnt a lot & will make a start. I was just wondering if it’s worth having an Etsy store or just have a website? I only ask as some people I know have started new stores & they have been shut down. I am keen to hear your advice/thoughts. Thank you for your time.
Hii!! As a new seller, I personally recommend starting on Etsy first because they make it really easy to open up a shop quickly and you can rely on some of their traffic and existing audience. You'll also learn so much about marketing and target customers that you can then implement into your own website in the future. Hope that helps!
i like video 😊👏
Thank you!!
They are everything BUT easy! 😢
