Dude you are a legend for doing this! I love you for this man, I been waiting and searching for this for Godot for a long time now, and it's so much needed. It's crazy it hasn't been a thing by now for Godot and this just proves it on what it could of looked like. Your tool looks freaking great and I love what you added, I def am excited to try out your tool and see how it works out for me. I been stuck on 3D world making for my game and I feel like this could help me get unstuck. I know it's for your games and all, but thank you for making it, it's really what we been waiting and wishing for. P.s You are a genius with the features you made! @@sanyi9667meh, if godot ever had a terrain feature in core already i would bet it would end in a situation like with gridmaps... I think it better to have official plugins than a bad core implementation.

The Core devs of Godot love to lie. They brand their engine as having "Powerful 3D", "with everything you need to build your ... 3D" worlds. But they don't even have a basic terrain, which game engines have had since even before 2009. It is very frustrating!
Yes, so then you can keep complaining about the terrain being really bad, and lacking many features, like what you all did on gridmap,? powerful 3d doesn't mean terrain alone tho, and also there are already good 4.x and 3.x addons for performant terrain like the cory and outobugi terrain for 4.0 or mohsen terrain system, meanwhile in unity with a simple terrain with few textures and worse performance. And also cory's terrain has no risk of being discontinued anytime soon because it is being directly used on their ARPG game and it will take years to finish, so the support is there.
@@saul8510 Something is better than nothing. Anyway, if terrain was in the core, more people could, and would, contribute to it instead of "fragmenting the ecosystem". There are over half a dozen terrain plugins just for Godot 4 that I know of. Most people would rather put their trust in the Core engine components, rather than rely on third-party ones.
