My Mark5 arrived at my home while I have been traveling for work for a month. I can’t wait to get home to fly the Mark 5. In the meantime, I keep watching this video over and over again. It’s probably been about 50 times that I have watched this video😊

Can I use it with DJI Controller 2 that I got from my DJI FPV combo? I wanna get this Geprc mk5 and use it with my goggles and controller that I got from DJI FPV combo.
I’m sure I can use my DJI goggles v2 with it but I can’t find anything about the controller? 😞

    • @Binkoro
      @Binkoro 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@NONX01 Yes you can, as long as you get the DJI O3 version. Make sure to select PNP (plug and play) for the receiver option. This means they are not going to put any receiver in the quad because you will be using the O3 camera module as your radio receiver.

@@Binkoro thank You for such a quick response that’s exactly what I thought is the right thing to do in this setup thank you so much once again gonna order it literally right now, it’s in stock 😁
Don’t want to do it with DJI FPV no more, I still think it is a perfect choice for a first drone but at this point I start to feel how hard it limits me.
I will still use it and take it all with me to use it as a hanging camera for pure cinematic shots in N mode. I got the entire case for the FPV Combo so I will just add Geprc to my backpack and I’m ready to go and can use both at any time.

@@Binkoro hello again so I’m literally on Geprc website trying to make a purchase and I just wanna make sure cos I’m a bit confused with the “receiver” terms and PNP.
So like I said I have DJI goggles v2 and DJI controller 2 and I want to use it with my Geprc - it says if I order PNP they won’t add a receiver because I’m using O3 system - what does it mean exactly? I want a DC version that doesn’t require a gopro for “propellerless” footage without a GoPro.
Does it mean that I need to order something extra with the drone?

@@NONX01 The Mark5 really is an amazingly smooth flying experience, especially the X Frame. If you are using the DJI FPV for cinematic experience, the Mark 5 should be used for the experience of flight. I use Cinewhoops and DC framed drones for cinematic, but you definitely need at least one X frame drone for the experience of flight. The Mark 5 X frame is that one for me. Couldn't be happier. Also, it's very durable, unlike the DJI FPV drone.

Not better, but rather different. The iFLIGHT looks like a million bucks and it is large with 6" props. The MARK 5 is a 5" drone in an X frame, so if you are buying for FREESTYLE, the mark 5 wins. If you are buying for other things, the iFlight wins.

Been learning to fly with a self built Mark 4. It flies pretty well, not that I have anything to compare it to…I like some of the upgrades that the mark 5 has…might build an HD version once I’m more comfortable with my abilities as a pilot. Currently flying los. And just got the rest of the gear needed to FPV with my DJI v2 goggles. Excited for better weather!

I'm looking for a setup that can make my Geprc mark 5 DC HD O3 6S handle a kind of middle-long range flight time (20-25 hopefully minutes hovering smoothly), avoiding voltage sag. Could you please recommend me a couple of Li-Ion or Lipo batteries that can be suitable for this purpose, and for the drone size/lenght? Thank you so much!

Nice! Whats a good PNP/BNF FPV Drone that maybe comes Analog stock, and then i can add my new O3 Air Unit that i already have. It seems i should of just waited to buy a BNF with the O3 already in it but i think its been too long to return it, plus i bought it so that i could use it with my FPV V2 Goggles and RC2 or Frsky RX depending on how it comes and how it feels really.. Then i will get either Crossfire or ELRS i think..
Im looking for that $150-200 fpv drone youre talking about that would be fine for a beginner pilot to basically learn on for as long as it lasts. Because like you said, i probably cant feel the difference between a 150/200$ drone and a 350$ analog version drone like these..
Once i learn and crash a bunch of times, then ill buy the nice fpv drone i want like the iFlight Nazgul F6x. I have only a few hrs of Acro sim time and then maybe 5hr total of fpv flying in Angle mode on a super old analog fpv drone with a FC from 2016 lol, but it worked and deff took some abuse. I basically never hovered in place unless you constantly were adjusting it, but then again it didnt have gps or anything like that just the bare minimum.
Im also not against going diy especially if i can get the nicer frames, but i wouldnt want to build anything smaller than 30x30 in a 5/6". The problem is that i dont know what the name brands are and what arent and whats a good deal and whats overpriced for what it is. I dont mind spend money on better quality but only really as far as better components or more reliability.

I just bought my first drone, and honestly it's my first FPV drone. Out of all the videos you have Steve, I must thank you for all the information. Between the FPV beginner for dummies videos and reviews like this, it helped me make informed decisions and I can thankfully say I'm hyped to be getting my mark5 and knowing I can always come back to figure out how to link them together and use betaflight/speedybee etc
So thank you for the information and the review of the mark5

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 so I did my maiden flight with the mark5 yesterday, was a little short lived as I only had one battery. But all went great. I decided to listen and bought some 4S batteries as I'm new and new to FPV (thanks to your advice I still have a drone) but today I took it out and I didn't look at the controller and didn't realize it was in acro mode. Well needless to say I'm impressed with the durability. Slammed straight into the ground (O3 air unit wasn't touched surprisingly) at full speed. Broke some props and cut some battery line but outside of that, no damage to the drone. Had this been a 6S battery, I do not think I would have a drone with just a broke prop.
So Steve, all in all. Your beginner videos are so so so helpful. Also the reviews with different drones. Last but not least you are an amazing person for doing this for the community and making it very easy to follow.
      All in all,
      Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's **** lol
I got my dad into this now as well haha so I'll at least always have a wingman. So thank you for also bringing us closer as well
We don't agree on much but this is definitely amazing so thank you!!!!

@@CAPTAINDRONE798idk if my other comment posted but needless to say, I had my maiden flight with the mark 5 yesterday. Was amazing. Short lived. Only one battery. Ordered batteries from Amazon and went out again today. Listened to your advice and got 4S even though it's rated for 6S. Needless to say, I crashed. Not just opps crashed but hard enough that I thought the drone was definitely broken. It went straight down (didn't check the controller and was in acro mode, not angle mode) 03 air unit camera was the main impact area. No damage but a broken prop. No damage to the camera or air unit and no damage to the drone, very impressed with the durability. Had this been a 6S at full speed like today. I don't think I would have a drone that didn't just require props to be switched.
You also brought myself and dad closer together and I'll always have a wingman now. He went and ordered his drone same night after flying mine.
Thank you for the how to beginner videos and making my father and myself that much closer.

another stellar review Steve, God every time i see one of your fpv reviews im sure i want an fpv. you make it look so easy and smooth. then my friends bring me back down to earth by saying you just fly camera drones. to which they are right. I only fly and have one camera drone its a mavic mini flymore combo. when i bought it I thought it was the best thing ever. Now im trying to upgrade to a mini 2 just because i love the size and feel of my original mini but the controller seems so much better on mini 2 and having the lipo batteries means more power. i dont even dream about the mini 3 although ive heard rumors that the price may be dropping to mini 2 prices. Have you heard anything?lol Anyways i digress. my dream is to fly fpv but they tell me its a really hard transition and I dont want to invest a bunch of money just to find out i hate it. I know to most people its not a lot of money but i lost my business with COVID and since then the cost of living has skyrocketed in western Canada. So needless to say, something as simple as $600-900 can make or break me. Do you have any good ideas on the best bang for the buck beginner set-up. Ive asked you before but that was a year or so ago. since then ive been able to save a little money. this rc hobby is my only vice and it keeps me sane.😛

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  ปีที่แล้ว +3

The new Mini 3 is a bit more expensive than the Mini 2, but the mini 2 is dropping in price so things may even out eventually. FPV is difficult for sure but everyone who tried it and stuck with it began at level zero. Unfortunately if you fly DJI drones then it is even harder to learn FPV because the DJI drones are designed for first time pilots where the FPV drones are not. I learned this first hand as I use to only fly DJI drones long ago. Get yourself a BetaFPV Cetus all in one FPV kit and that will slowly get you into the hobby.

Hello, I was thinking of getting this drone with the DJI controller 2 and googles 2 . If I understand it correctly , using these goggles and controller with this specific drone with the 03 system the drone doesn't need a receiver to work yes? if I choose the PNP version so to speak?
The follow up question to that would be; If I choose to buy the ELRS receiver to "future proof" the drone, would the drone still work as normal if I connect the DJI stuff to the O3 system that is still within the drone?

"the customer is always right" in CHINA, and there is no "please send it back to us for repair". If ever you receive something like an FPV drone from CHINA and you have an issue... NEVER SEND IT BACK. Instead, identify the problem (usually a flight controller) and ask them to send you the replacement part and 99% of the time they do.

during a collision, the battery may be damaged / cut by the top panel which has a slight step.
This small step has already destroyed several of my batteries.

FPV is really an uphill journey if you wish to get into the full hobby. So much to learn with programming radios, understanding batteries and chargers, work with receivers and Betaflight Configurator. Everyone who began in the FPV hobby started at level zero. Learning to fly an FPV drone with no assistance is massively hard. Now since you are used to DJI it means you’d have to learn how to fly all over, so it may be a good idea to get the Avata because the Normal and Sport modes are exactly the same as the drones you own and those modes are designed for beginners because the drone does all the work. If you fly in DJI manual mode then it is similar to the real FPV flying. You’ll crash the Avata often learning to fly in true FPV but it is strong and should handle it. So I’d say learn to Fly real FPV in manual mode on the Avata and then when you’re good try your hand at the RC Hobby and you’ll then only have to learn how everything works as you’ll already have FPV flying experience.

Just ensure drone and remote are on same DJI FIRMWARE, then power on drone and push the DJI bind button, then with remote powered on just hold the power button until the remote goes into bind mode.

Hi Captain, I am from Bali.
I am wondering about using DJI RC controller (the one that is usually bundled in DJI Mini3Pro) or using DJI RC Pro controller linked-in to that kind of PNP fpv that use DJI O3 Air Unut. Is it possible?
    Thank you.

Unfortunately those are kind of toy grade remotes so they don't work with the FPV hobby.
