I really do believe that some folks hear the word jet and instantly think a jet drive is the fastest. River racing in the shallows is one thing but propeller driven boats dominate the racing world hands down.
Keep in mind, the jetboat has a blower and the v-drive does not. Also, this v-drive can be geared for a better holeshot as well. It's set up for general recreation. My experience is the only way to level the playing field at all is too compare a "tunnel hull" jet to a non tunnel v-drive. This obviously gives the jet an advantage but it needs something because v-bottom to v-bottom the v-drive wins.
The right pump can get a jet well over a hundred but most never find the formula. Its hard when your drive system sticks u to the water stead of letting u fly. Counter productive. And when it aint stuck to the water your wet, also counter everything.
had a few jets show up for the IHBA events in our class... all reads the same.. they leave harder, get their tails run over after half track... Hey Vdrive, you have all the old Redding video? this is Terry?
Jet boats i seen make alot of noise but they always get beat. V drives you better hope the guys scared of it 😂 there monsters. But i dont put nobody down that out having fun and doing something they enjoy. Thanks for videos
85 + mph V drives aren’t uncommon as a jet running at those speeds I new a guy with a stroked small block in a v drive it would beat most jets easily when the tap out 65 - 75
V had 30mph on him. I never run off and leave a jet with my merc. Make them think they have a chance. Soon a mile goes by, thier shit blows up and show them you were half throttle the whole time.
They were both really nice boats.
Prop over jet drive every day of the week. A big blown V8 with a Jet drive is a waste.

v drives are faster for one reason, they are overdriven by 1.5 and more where as the jet drive is straight no overdrive
