You’re correct, imo. However, I’ve never known politicians to be far-sighted. Especially Republicans & Establishment or Corporate Democrats. They’d rather give any excess money towards the MIC, which doesn’t need any more bloat to its funding. Or to some useless cause, like the wall. Or, maybe, somehow, funneled into their own pockets. I believe that, if anything, that last one will end up being where any monies saved from the end of the War will go.

I have no political agenda asking these questions. We are hearing that many if not most of those terrific translators and their families were left behind in the thousands because their paperwork wasn’t completed. But how’s it possible the tens of thousands of Afghan allowed to leave met the qualifications while the translators and heroes and their families didn’t?We all watched desperate families begging to leave, so are we to assume the ones making it through checkpoints all had perfect paperwork? Finally we are not hearing why the 100 or so U.S. citizens stuck in Afghanistan didn’t follow the other 5,000 Americans and thousands of other foreigners holding valid passports to the airport.

He is training an audience in the bad faith that Sartre so eloquently described when he wrote that fascists "delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert." It is what modern people call "gaslighting." It's different than lying because liars are often trying to legitimately deceive people about the truth. This isn't about trying to deceive anyone, so much as it's about taking a hammer to the very idea that words mean things, facts matter, and rationality is important. “

Good points however Nobody would’ve predicted that even the Afghan President left without notice his own country. Would you expect the Afghan military fighting a war when their commander in chief departed his own country? COME ON. One more thing, Taliban and Afghanistan people are one divided just ideologically. I love that afghan military didn’t engage into bloodshed against Taliban, they are the same. Also about the mess people keep on talking in the Kabul airport, what I just saw was an avalanche of desperate people wanting to leave the country and jumping into the plane. Were you expecting to see Afghan people in a perfect line waiting for their turn to board the plan? COME ON, GET REAL, lLET’S NOT BE GULLIBLES, they were not passengers that paid the plane tickets in Laguardia airport. We have become a VERY OPINIONATED society showing a high level of indolence and that is what Trump left behind him in the country. Biden helped significantly for the evacuation of more than 120000 people in record time and I bet the government has already planned the rescue of the remaining ones willing to leave Afghanistan.
I can’t imagine the disaster of evacuation had Trump done it.

Firstly they were predicting it would happen sooner than later.
Secondly they were negotiating with the taliban government and not the afghan govt. Wouldnt u think that would affect their confidence? They should have known the afghan government and soldiers wouldnt have the will to fight long enough to get us out. I feel like they should have foreseen this

@@wicket3641 Agree with certain things. It was not apparently knowable that Ghani was going to escape unexpectedly and as he said in an abroad conference he left the country to avoid a huge bloodshed among Afghan military and Taliban army however he never shared that perception with anybody let alone with Biden. He got that decision under the sleeve all the time for just in case and that is where he needs to be blamed for this apparently caos evacuation. The bottom line is that we already successfully left with unfotunately and sadly 13 casualties and wounded soldiers. God bless the families of all those individuals. President Biden took full responsability for this evacuation and he explained miltiple times that no evacuation is beautiful and executed in a perfect orderly fashion. I agree with his statement. God bless America. I believe now it is time to deal with hurricanes season and the situation in Louisiana. (Ida, Larry and so on). Not to forget Infrastructure bill / Covid 19 &Delta Variant and Republican Voting Restrictions / Abortion stuff / January 6 Investigation and so on. Trump in my humble opinion was like a Cancer for USA Democracy but 74 millions people fell into that populist egotistic trap. How are we going to get out of that? I am doing my part. @nutterz241 The evacuation was neither messy or botched. That one clip, that one scene where people panicked, rushed the airport, rushed one plane, "one plane" as if it was the last plane leaving, hanging on to it. The media blew it up to be the actual overall situation with the evacuation and pushed it their viewers as that. That was far from reality, but the public though, wow, Biden is really screwing up. These people were not being chased or shot at by the Taliban. They just panicked. When those people were calmed, the operation continued. They evacuated over 125,000 Americans, allies, Afghans , contractors and many more in less than 3 weeks. How the hell is this messy, botched or a failure? This will go down in history as the greatest airlift evacuation ever. They are upset it went so well without losing one evacuee. Nuf said!!!!!!

The training of afghan troops is the kicker. 20 f,n years, training an army that basically walked away from any responsibility, well most of them, was a big kick in the face to Biden. I'm sure Biden thought the same thing. These people need to take responsibility for their own freedoms. 400,000 afghan troops? They should have been a huge deterrant to the turmoil that was the evacuation.

Young people have mental flexibility and physical energy. Old people have an immense store of knowledge and old people with brains have nuanced analyses of complex situations that require that huge fact database. Old people are not the enemy. The most passionate and dedicated activists I’ve met are old women who’ve been working to make the world better for longer than most people have been alive. They know the full history and all the details of an issue so the younger activists who are going to make speeches and organize events benefit from consulting them. (I’m neither elderly nor young but have worked with people of all demographics for a long time - mutual respect is a good place to start)

@@davedaley332 Agree….and from my cheap seat up here in Canada, it seems to me that both Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper of CNN are adopting that same “constipated” look on their faces…as they interview and parade on air all their paid “armchair opinion quarterbacks”, from both sides of the aisle. This is so they can continue with the strategy of their corporate overlords to divide and conquer America. Very worried about our southern neighbours, but also worried about the same poisons and hatred that seem to be seeping into our society here in Canada with anti vaxxers, anti masks, nasty political ads, etc…our media still isn’t too bad yet, but it’s getting there.
