    Just finished len Deighton's excellent fictional book.."Bomber"...the JU88 plays a pivotal part in this air war read..grab the book and give it a go..you will thoroughly enjoy it..and great attention to details in all of your model building..first class!

    THANK YOU! -this is art. I do some of the same technology when I restore small parts on real vinage cars, to get the correct patina.
    But what you do is truly amazing. It is art!

    Just beautifully brilliant on how the Junkers Ju 88 was transformed into a talented artistic creation. Am green with envy. The only minor snag being, was that I had to adjust the viewing speed on my laptop to 0.5 so as to get the I/D of what was being used by David. As his display to the camera of the items he was using was similar to the speed of light. Still a brilliant video all the same. Well done David Damek.

    Great build, very well done! Just a note on the RLM70/71 colours.. Which ones did you use? In reality the contrast between the two should be really minimal, in certain light conditions (not pitch dark) they should look like a single colour. I found the Lifecolors UA050 and UA051 the most accurate ones, much closer to the real colours than the Gunze or Tamiya ones.

    Lovely job. What paints were you using and what # is that Abteilung tube? I think maybe your finished model is a little too rich/dark. Maybe there is too little dimensions between the light and dark areas of the model but mostly just dark. I don`t know.

    What is that gritty substance from the bottle that you're using on your tires? What is the substance that you're using from the black tube, is that some kind of black wash and how much do you dilute it.

  • @kostadinlozanovski81
    @kostadinlozanovski81 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Amazing work David. I have a question. Why are you not pre shading the model before painting? What I can see in 6:07 you are "after shading" the model?
    What is the benefit of doing after-shading and not pre-shading? For me as a beginner, it would requires a great courage to do the shadows after the model has been painted just because I would be afraid to make mistakes and destroy the painting, pre shading is more forgiving?
    Sorry for my bad english.
    brgds

    • @rocketassistedgoat1079
      @rocketassistedgoat1079 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For dark post-shading like in this video; thin your paint a lot more than usual-about 80 or even 90% thinner and lower the PSI to between 5 and 15-allowing you to spray very fine translucent lines with a lot of control.

    How big is it? It looks a bit small for a bomber, should i get this or something like a 1:48 tamiya p-47D, or a 1:48 f-104 from hasegawa? I really dont know what to get, i have enough money to get 2 or 3 models and a few tools

    • @rocketassistedgoat1079
      @rocketassistedgoat1079 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1/72 is the best scale for WW2 mult0engine types. This will be about the same size as a 1/48th P-47 or Starfighter [48th is the best scale for single-engine WW2/post-war aircraft], whereas 1/32nd is the best scale for WW1 single-engine types. Beware of the "bigger is better" mentality-it's not. A '32nd Ju-88 will not have the same "gemlike" appeal of this. And frankly, if you can pull it off; a 1/72nd WW2 bomber will blow-away any 1/48th single engine fighter as it's a little-jewel.

    very nice! Looks so real! Can you help me with something though? I use this Tamiya pin wash thing and when I apply it to my model it leaves a little mark on where i touched it. I go to remove it with thinner but it removes my paint aswell! what do i protect my model with before i apply the pin wash? or do I have to use a different thinner or a alcohol? Thanks
