Frida had said later that when Benny and Björn had played to them the raw melody of "Dancing Queen" they just had composed, she started to cry. She found the melody so beautiful.

One of the most unmistakably Iconic songs ever made. Those first few piano chords hit and you KNOW what it is ... and you can't stop listening. Here we sit, 43 years and two generations after it's release and the song is as pure and "new" as it ever was.

So glad I was a teenage boy growing up in the 70s! The music, undeniably was/is the best. Too hard to grow up in this generation, I wouldn’t want to. The talent 40 years ago was real and raw. Kids, when your parents talk about music they listened to in their day, don’t laugh like I did, now I know what they were talking about. It will come full circle for most of us

'Dancing Queen' by Abba. Released Dec. 1976. Hit No. 1 and on the US charts for 22 weeks.
A '70s discotheque staple! I loved this record back in '77-78 (...still do).

I remember when they hit big in the 70's. They all over the radio and tv. Agnetha and Frida's voices blended so well and they wrote such catchy songs. Gimme Gimme Gimme, Waterloo, S.O.S. are also some you might want to check out.

I'm in my early fifties so I was only a kid when the disco clubs were at their height. When I was old enough to go to clubs all this wonderful music had been replaced with mindless repetitive bass beats. I long for the return of real disco music and actual discotheques.

Thank you for appreciating ABBA. I saw them in Melbourne Australia, when I was 13 years old. I also came within a few metres of them at the Town Hall when they waved to thousands of fans. ABBA were on the radio waves and TV every day in Australia, in the late 1970s. I am going to London in October to see the ABBA Voyage concert. I am a 59 year old school principal, and I still love ABBA. How lucky am I... to have lived in their time.

What made ABBA legends was there music arrangements with the music and their voices. The band almost broke up recording this song Dancing Queen because the piano player and leader of this band seen on this video wanted to get everything just right and made the ladies record their parts and the chorus parts over and over again. The chords and orchestration of this song are also the most respected arrangements in the history of pop music. That's a fact. No other pop song gets near this combination of sounds ever. That's talent.

There is something so magical when Frida and Agnetha sing together (often called the 3rd voice). They complement each other perfectly and that sound triggers a brain reaction in me. I've never had this experience with any other 2 voices. They could never know back then the enduring effect they would have on the world.

Started listening to reactions earlier this week and found you with one of my favorite groups ever, ABBA. One of their best songs! And yes, as many many others will say, ABBA could play the soundtrack of my life, ha ha. We did dance parties to the song and everybody had a blast. But I love your honest emotion and enjoyment of these songs that meant so much to my generation. My favorites from ABBA: Fernando, Waterloo, SOS, Name of the Game& Winner takes it All. If you react to another Abba song James please consider reacting to "The way Old Friends Do" live at Wembley Arena in London, it's amazing. This live version turned out so good that they decided to put it on their next album, INSTEAD of recording it in the studio.

Yes! Everyone needs more ABBA in their lives!
They were 2 couples and wrote the catchiest 3 minute pop songs ever created. At the beginning of their success they were about love but then they started to split up so they then wrote songs about heartache and divorce. By the time the ban ended they were doing songs about hiding from the East German police during the Cold War all with a disco beat.
I really hope you do more of ABBA!
