    The album version contains the most incredible guitar solo. And no one would ever think that the guitar parts throughout the song are different guitarists. It’s all so seemless. Lasse Wellander and Janne Schaffer both performed on this.

    • @danielolson5378
      @danielolson5378 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Lasse Wellander is the main guitarist on this album and Janne Schaffer plays on this one. The studio version is better and the solo at the end is a killer one!

    ABBA is almost psychedelic here, I get pink floyd vibe with this song, it's the longest song they recorded as a group u should react to the original long version as this is the edited version. The guitar solo is soaring in the longer version which is sick

      @Marvin Morawski The great thing about music , it is open to interpretation. We can all find something personal in a song that strikes a chord/meaning that differs to someone else's interpretation . That's what makes a good song universally successful

    You reaction is comprehensible, noting that you listened to the awful radio edit. The album version is nearly 6 minutes long and it features 2 minutes of an amazing guitar solo (ironically you suggested the song needed more heavy guitars). Also, I can understand that you felt confused listening to this song because it’s a very unusual progressive rock song of theirs, very different from their signature pop rock sound. I’m sure that by listening more to the complete version of ‘Eagle’, it will hopefully grow on you because it’s truly an underrated masterpiece.
    Anyways mate, I think it’s time you react to ‘Does Your Mother Know’ which is a perfect danceable track like you love them.

    It is no coincidence that "Eagle" is the opening track for the iconic and classic "ABBA: The Album". Their records were banned in the (then, former) USSR,,,, but the demand was so great that their records were on the black market and traded for oil. The main newspaper at the time "Pravda" viciously attacked ABBA,,,, but it only increased their popularity.

    Sadly this was the shorter version, which did not include the guitar solo in the middle. Which is truly extraordinary. I do think Derek would have given the song a better review. This version of Eagle was probably taken from one of their compilation albums... and as they do with songs over 5 minutes, they chop off a section or skip the fade off to shorten it. And I truly despise that practice. So if you want to hear the original album version, I suggest purchasing the full album, which is quite simply titled, "The Album"..... probably my favorite of all ABBA albums. It came out in 1977 when I was 9 years old. My parents owned the "8 track" of it but it wasn't until I was about 13 when I owned my own LP record and had grown to pay closer attention and appreciate things for myself

    A song 50 years ahead of its time...you get taken by the super production and the original text.. For me this is one of the less understood, and most misunderstood songs by Abba. This is a song about people trapped in relationships who wist they could fly away and be free.
