Thanks for the review. We intended to buy this model, as it’s a very affordable option, however is presently discontinued by the manufacturer. Local supplier informed us the new model will be available in September 2020, originally new model was supposed hit the market in April this year. New model will feature refrigerator with a water dispenser, which will make it very convenient. Local supplier also informed us that dimensions might vary from discontinued model. We just will have to use our old refrigerator at the new house until new models roll out later this year.
@@denisebell4115 www.frigidaire.com/Kitchen-Appliances/Refrigerators/Single-Door-Refrigerator/FPRU19F8WF/ is the new model refrigerator. It is open to order but still on a massive back order. We recently purchased a home with this set installed. They are wonderful. They were made in 2007, so they are 15 years old (11/2021 now) and still going strong. When the time comes, we will replace them with the newest version.
I looked at these when I had to replace my 35 year old Sub Zero full size freezer and fridge. All the reviews I looked at said that they were problematic. Ended up just biting the bullet and getting a new Sub Zero set. In the long run it'll end up being cheaper. The last set did last 35 years. The freezer was still going strong but the new set is taller so I couldn't just replace the fridge. Had to have the electric plugs redone as the new ones have the plugs up high, the old units had the motor and fan at the bottom. At the end of the day they look incredibly impressive.
Very problematic. I’ve had mine 5 years, had the fridge rebuilt under warranty 9 months ago and it went out again. Frigidaire said it can’t be fixed this time do to parts not available so the bought the fridge back. Unfortunately we still have a freezer that doesn’t match the new models. And the new models don’t fit in my current opening. Im presently looking for a replacement that fits. It’s been a huge pain.
Dad splurged for a SubZero at mom's insistence back around 2009. Lasted less than two years. The repair would have cost as much as a new, cheap fridge. We went with the mid-range that lasted three years. Purchased a cheaper one on sale at a Sears center and its been going strong ever since. Go figure.
Here a pro tip we use to reduce sound in high end kitchen... Use Non-flammable sound absorbing acoustic foam.. Place it against(on) the back of the cabinet ( leaves an air gap, don't push the fridge against the foam for precautions against heat transfer) and usually panels fridge ventilate from bottom and up.. Many time's I seen cabinets that don't leave enough space for ventilation thus making the fan work louder and harder than it is supposed to... Read your fridge manual for the vent requirement to configure your cabinets vent space before it's built
Absolute junk - mine failed after 2 years. I hope you don't mind me sharing my update here - but it may help those that stumble across your channel. My ALL Refrigerator failed after 2 years - the unit would over cool, not cycle and ONLY the top of the evaporated coil (in the unit - behind the cover on the lower shelf) - would freeze up. ..just the top of the coil - you can see a layer of ice build up. This is a sign of refrigerant restriction or a clog somewhere in the sealed system I was told. The repair service stated I needed a new sealed system (compressor, evaporator, filter drier and heat exchange) - cost to replace was $2000 (labor and parts) - back in 2021 - I got the refrigerator for $1575. I contacted Frigidaire customer service and explained my situation. They first came back and stated there is only a 1yr warranty on the unit and NO extended warranties on the sealed system or an other components like you may find on other brands. I simply said - that the unit was only 2 years old and that this was not acceptable - after a brief hold - without hesitation they said they would pay for the parts and I am responsible for the labor. They had to have another repair service come out and evaluate again, as the first time I did it, the appliance company gave me a local repair place that did not do warranty work. They also stated the entire sealed system needs replacement and perhaps the control board, thermostat etc. The other repair service who is Frigidaire authorized quoted $600 for the repair - but did not tell me what parts were being replaced. I insisted on knowing this as I don't want to be replacing a thermostat, control board or anything else later down the line as Frigidaire has already proven to be problematic. So my advice to anyone who stumbles across this - is to contact Frigidaire directly first - even if you are out of warranty, they may be willing to help you in good faith.
There's a new updated set in which everything is improved - better materials, lighting, quality control. It's listed on the Frigidaire website. I think it's a bit wider than the discontinued models.

I just bought an “open box” built in Kitchen Aid because my old Kitchen Aid built in was having issues after 17 years. My appliance tech who came out numerous times trying to repair those issues said these built ins are all temperamental. Even Sub Zero. He was steering me to a counter-depth fridge with a bottom placed motor. They are not flush to cabinets like a built in but don’t stick out as much as a regular fridge. I almost bought one but they were all on back order. I wasn’t about to spend $8k on a new built-in. However, my tech then referred me to a shop that sells refurbished and open box built-ins in Orange County. I was lucky to find another Kitchen Aid for $3200. Hopefully it lasts more than 20 years. He also said to stay away from LG and Samsung. He works on those all the time.

@@JE-nm2of hi, the coils are located under the bottom of each unit. You need to unscrew and remove the bottom grill to access them. It’s super easy.. I believe there are six screws in total. I used a great tool on Amazon (Holikme Dryer Vent Cleaner Coil Brush) that does a great job. Also helps to use a vacuum hose and clean out other debris that accumulates.
Can you please tell me the rough dimensions around the whole system? I am designing my kitchen right now and I want to build the cabinets around it like what you are doing. thank you!

We went to purchase this fridge for our new house. We went ahead a spent a few hundred extra and upgraded to the Electrolux version of this fridge. We are still waiting for our house to be finished, so we haven't been able to use it yet.
Would love to hear how you end up liking the Electrolux version! And congrats on your new home. It’s always so hard to be patient for new construction to be finished, but well worth the wait to get a home that’s just right!

Quick update, looks like Frigidaire is issuing a new version of this in fall 2020. AJ Madison is selling the pair + trim at $5,325. Huge price jump from the older model and no visible difference from what I can tell.

@@DesignLovesDetail the links in the description are not working. Do you have any updated info about these fridge/freezer models and where to purchase them? Thank you! :)
Love this idea! We will definitely be getting these. You just saved us a tons of money. We were going to get the KitchenAid built in prior to seeing this!
Heck- if you want to go even cheaper, just get two normal top-freezer stainless steel fridges, and change the doors so they each swing towards the center. Or, two fridges with bottom drawers, same concept.
Can you show how the side trim and top trim look against the cabinet. Currently designing my kitchen and have these (currently separate from one another). We cannot figure out exactly how they are to be installed in the cabinets, on the face or flush???? Thanks!
Can you do a tour of your kitchen so we can see the rest of your appliances? :) Trying to remodel ours and your color scheme with your cabinets and appliances seem like the same route I'd like to take.

Shoot! They’ve really upped the price and they are hard to get. :(. This is the set up I want but had no idea you could get a trim kit to make it look like one piece. That’s awesome!! Do you know of any other lines that offer trim kits like this?
It may look like a subzero but is it as functional as a subzero? Does the trim kit work as a vent? Will it last for 20+ years? Can it vacuum seal and scrub the air? Does it increase the value of a home? Is it made in the USA? It has to be more about functionality than form.
Nacho Great points! Those looking for this fridge are wanting the look of a Sub Zero and not necessarily wanting to pay for many of the features you are referencing. If one wants everything a Sub Zero provides then that should certainly be the direction to go. Thanks for watching!
I noticed that you set the pair into the opening a bit so the trim is somewhat flush with the gables. I would like to do the same but can't find any depth dimensions for the trim kit. Can you post this? Also, is there a reason why the width of the trim is not closer to the inside of the gables on your application? Looks like you left a good 3/4" extra width and height.
Thank you for your review! We ordered it and it is pending delivery. Since you already have the unit, can you please confirm the location of the power cord at the back (is it at the top or bottom of the fridge)?
I have had them for 4, 5 years and evaporator motor was replaced on the freezer and sealed system failure on the fridge. Searched the forum and found out that sealed system failure is the most common issue and it is like ticking bomb that is ready to go off on every unit. I would not buy Frigidaire or Electrolux.
Nice fridge but be prepared to replace in 4-8 years when it rusts out and fails. Also if they do what they did in the past you will not be able to just replace the fridge but rather you will have to replace both as they think it’s fun to change the size on you so you can’t just replace one unit.
This is where we are RIGHT now. Freezer good. Fridge garbage. Have to replace both because of size change IF we want to roll the dice again with the newer version. Either way it will require modification to cabinetry even tho kitchen was remodeled 6 years ago. SO MAD.
@@mistyd6440I replaced my set and kept the freezer which I put in my basement. It ended up being cheaper then modifying the cabinets to fit another fridge. The newer fridge seems to be nicer and better built but seems much smaller then the old. The new maybe has more door space but the shelf’s are not as deep. I had thought about repairing but the company I was dealing with pointed out that the rust was likely what caused the issue and was so bad I wouldn’t get much life out of the repair. Happy with the replacement and figures crossed the new model lasts longer.
Thats what we are doing now. Should be dekivered next week. We're getting the new version about $5,000+ I'll try to remember to come back here and let you know how it goes. For now, A lady from New York, already called to confirm our purchase and to let us know that it will be delivered by our highway...since we live off of there on a rocky, curvy road through our acres. So thats a good sign so far. So no installation, but my Husband is fine with that. We have a dolly and a trailor ready to go😊
These are some of the worst performing and reliable fridges on the market. They are also short so if you do make these giant cut outs for them make sure you cut them to 84" tall so when you replace them in five years you can get something without having to spend all the money you saved on cabinet work. I just had ours in our new house die, they were installed in 2016, the factory tech told me it's not worth fixing and all appliance stores that would sell them have over 100 people waiting for replacement backorders. If you want a pro fridge that looks huge and will last you, spend the money on a Thermador, Sub Zero, Monogram (little less quality and $$$). Also when yours does break and you need it replaced, the new ones are slightly wider so you would need to do more cabinet work to make it fit anyway.
I bought the Electrolux Icon all fridge and all freezer 4 years ago and we loved it. Unfortunately, my all fridge had a freon leak that was not repairable.Good news, we purchased the extended warranty. Bad news, the new fridge is more expensive, is 1 inch wider and taller than current fridge with different texture on exterior and delivery expected for end of 2021 or early 2022. by end of 2021 or early 2022. We also have to buy another fridge since the wait could be 1 year. Suggest everyone buy the extended warranty. I have read complaints about the all fridge but not much about the freezer.
After seeing your review, we are also thinking of getting this fridge/freezer combo for our new house. By the way, what is the name of the stone on your island? I really like that color. Thanks for the video!
I have the same fridge since March 2020 and since then I’ve noticed that the fresh vegetables spoil faster that they normally spoiled in my old fridge, that was a whirlpool. I want to know if someone else has the same situacion and how to solve it. Thans!!!!

Space is awesome, but water and ice dispenser is a big plus for me. It is very inconvenient to fill a pitcher of water each time. We had done it when our ice dispenser broke down for a month. It discourages you to drink more water. Grabbing ice with your bare hands is not only inconvenient, but unhygienic as well!
I have yet to find one for my space. I require the unit itself to be on the wider side im very limited to hight do to my cabinets and i don't want to have to remodel them 😭
Looking for a fridge my wife saw on t.v. and was a subzero at 15k plus. I came across your channel and 👍👍 she loved the look better at a third of the price but unfortunately it's discontinued. I read a comment left above of the new models to come later this year (2020) I actually was wondering if you had any compatible models you would suggest?. (Around the same price range) I've been searching and can't find anything as good as your deal, but I thought I'd just ask anyway.
Yeah, nothing like seeing that subzero price, right!? We haven't seen anything with this type of size and value but with the new models coming out hopefully the price will be comparable to the discontinued set.
Save up or apply for a loan and get the Sub Zero, you will not be disappointed. The reliability of a Sub of the long term is well worth the investment.
@@emssmiley2002 I actually had one in when I was renting a home and my neighbor actually has one similar to the one we are looking at which is cheaper. I have 4 kids now so going all out wouldn't be financially the smartest move but definitely would get one once my 2 youngest kids are bigger.

Thanks for being here! Yes, unfortunately that model has been discontinued but they were supposed to be coming out with a newer model last year. I think it’s been delayed due to COVID. 😔
How does the fridge look today on the doors? And little dents or divets. Ive seen reviews and pics of this with the excuse that there is foam in the doors that expand and contract and it is acceptable...whatever the heck that means. And where in the world do you see it for $3500. All i see on amazon is $7000 for this model.
Aside from our 3 year-old scratching across one of the doors within weeks of moving in everything looks great! We've had it for over 2 years now and haven't had any dents. Since this model has been discontinued I assume the price you're finding is pretty high for any remaining as we wait for a new model expected in the fall of this year.
This video is a year old so inflation... when i looked up this combo w/o the trim kit it was over 5200 not to include taxes. Btw the link for the trim kit isn't working idt.

I am designing my kitchen right now and I want to build the cabinets around it like what you are doing. thank you!
haha the ice part - I've always been so in love with your kitchen and this fridge works just perfectly along with the rest of the space!
Hahaaa! Yes, here I am trying to deliver useful info and he is thinking about how I just handled the ice and put it back in there! Lol! Can’t get away with anything around here ;)
And thank you so much!
Hi! Do you know if the new version of this is out yet?
The new model is available to order now so I updated the links in the description :)
I am looking for Loger term Food Preservation because I do shop at Costco I do want the organics but my husband passed away and I am by myself the sizes are the same at Costco but the time it takes me to use them is much longer so what I need is long-term food preservation and I hear subzero is the best at that so what model do you think would be advised when I don’t want bells and whistles I do not need an icemaker in it nor do I want one because they’re just problematic I have a portable icemaker I put filtered water in and that works fine I need a not a huge refrigerator but I need something that will preserve my juicing vegetables in my salad stuff and when I prepare things for the week I watch shelf space for that I want freezer that is excellent and not dying and freezing stuff so that when I put things in there they will last as long as possible without generating freezer burn and the rest
New here 😁. Absolutely love this! Buying a home this year!
This is a genius idea! Thank you!
Awesome videos, guys. Loving all this amazing wealth of information both of you are sharing. Binge watching! ❤️
Thank you so much! We are so happy you love it!
Do you have updated links? They aren't working.
Quick update, looks like Frigidaire is issuing a new version of this in fall 2020. AJ Madison is selling the pair + trim at $5,325. Huge price jump from the older model and no visible difference from what I can tell.
Thanks for the info. Yes, the new model has certainly increased in price so hopefully there are additional improvements that we can't quite see on the outside! :)
Hi, do you have the part number? Of both
@@gerardocampos3996 FPRU19F8WF + FPFU19F8WF. Looks like they are now coming end of November TBC..
What a beautiful couple and a kitchen!
So glad i found this channel!!
Thanks Crystal! Welcome! :)
This one is discontinued. Do you know if there will be an updated version that is similar?
Would like to know as well!
The new model is available to order now so I updated the links in the description :)
That’s great!! Hope you’ll love yours too! I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else! Frigidaire should hire me, haha!
Heck- if you want to go even cheaper, just get two normal top-freezer stainless steel fridges, and change the doors so they each swing towards the center. Or, two fridges with bottom drawers, same concept.
A lot of people are unaware they can be changed. I use to sell and modify before delivery.
Here's the link to the blog post on the kitchen that should include all the information you're looking for. Thanks for watching!

Sub-Zeros are made to be repaired, so the long term cost may be lower.
Bro there are Frigidaires in people's garages that have been around since the 80s still going
What's your point 😅
@@whitter86 My point is that things aren’t made like they used to be so buying a brand new one isn’t as sure a thing as it was back then
Thanks for the update, however I can't find the new models or trim kit, can you give me the model numbers please, thanks.
Good good job on the video y’all. Oh I like the ice part. Or you can just handle it put in back in🤣. Thanks for the video.
What color are your cabinets that surround the fridge? Absolutely getting this fridge!!
I have one and love it! We paid about $600 each piece because it had a small dent on the side. I also love your countertop. Is that granite? Gorgeous!
where because im looking
Sears outlet.
Hi,
Do you still recommend it?
How is your experience with it after years of usage?
I am buying it this week
Thanks
Have had my set for 3 years with no issues
@@micahroberts3564 😊 i bought it too
Have you seen the forno free standing side by side? Has anyone used it?
The fridgidiare was on my list two years ago too but now it’s close to 6k
I haven't yet shopped counter depth fridges. Will they hold a large size pizza box? I think this is an important bit of info.
Thank you for your review! We ordered it and it is pending delivery. Since you already have the unit, can you please confirm the location of the power cord at the back (is it at the top or bottom of the fridge)?
One small problem...the measurements are 32 wide..so once in your kitchen, it is the only refrigerator that will ever fit
What would be the point of that I want long-term food preservation
I have had them for 4, 5 years and evaporator motor was replaced on the freezer and sealed system failure on the fridge. Searched the forum and found out that sealed system failure is the most common issue and it is like ticking bomb that is ready to go off on every unit. I would not buy Frigidaire or Electrolux.
Exactly. Happened to me twice. Avoid these garbage fridge/freezer combo.
Which forums did you search, as I am trying to find out more about these fridges?
I am so doing this thanks!
Prepare to wait for we’ll over a year or more to get it. Ordered ours one year ago, STILL waiting with no end in sight
Where did you order? You mind PMing how much retail? I was looking into this fridge until I saw the comments that it’s discontinued
Did you finally get it?
Hey do you have pictures how was installed?
I have wanted these for 11 years. Sadly they lasted 14 days before the fridge died. Wish I had gone for a better brand as the service is horrid!
Do you know if this fridge can be paneled ??
How can i fit a 36 inch fridge in a 48 inch built in space? Can i get trim kit for the sides as well
Great video. Love watching your videos. That is a great fridge. I am still a subzero guy. I am getting the pro36. Have you see the pro36?
Definitely sub zero is a great option, a lot of people are looking for a lower price point but you can't argue with sub zero's quality!
It says this is discontinued. Do you have any alternatives?
The new model is available to order now so I updated the links in the description :)
Hello the links you provided do not work, is there anyway we can get an update? Thank you!
Do you have a link for the new trim?
This is great! I really need this. Only recommendation would be stop saying “um” every other sentence 😬😬😬 but again great video! Thanks!
Hello, tried the links but they don’t work. Love your channel!
I’m kind of nervous buying it from Amazon. Have you had experience good or bad purchasing one from Amazon?
Thats what we are doing now. Should be dekivered next week. We're getting the new version about $5,000+
I'll try to remember to come back here and let you know how it goes.

Hello :) Any updates? How’s the new fridge? Hope all is well
The link is not working. Can you tell us the name of the brand and where to order it?
THIS IS AMAZING 💯💯💯💯❤❤❤🇬🇾
The stone on the island is Honed Silver Macaubus Quartzite!
Could you re-link the fridge and freezer? The links don’t work anymore.
I have the same fridge since March 2020 and since then I’ve noticed that the fresh vegetables spoil faster that they normally spoiled in my old fridge, that was a whirlpool. I want to know if someone else has the same situacion and how to solve it. Thans!!!!
martha catalina gonzalez We haven’t noticed that being the case vs any other refrigerator we’ve had.
So do you have to have it on 2 separate circuits , seems like having 2 compressors running on 1 circuit would trip the breaker?
Great question! They are on separate breakers just to be safe.
Can someone post the new links? Please and thank you
I just want to know who built the cabinet and how much
would love to have one but my kitchen is too small :(
Hello am looking for the website it not showing up can you help me please send me the link
Can you share anything about your cabinets? What is door style? Who made them? Thanks

We have this one and can't find the water filter for the ice maker. Any one know?
But the sb zero vents at the top are not just a trim kit it’s a fan hat regulates gases and it’s a fan not just a trim kit?
Space is awesome, but water and ice dispenser is a big plus for me. It is very inconvenient to fill a pitcher of water each time. We had done it when our ice dispenser broke down for a month. It discourages you to drink more water. Grabbing ice with your bare hands is not only inconvenient, but unhygienic as well!
I have yet to find one for my space. I require the unit itself to be on the wider side im very limited to hight do to my cabinets and i don't want to have to remodel them 😭
I guess industrial is in now? I'm sure you could find a commercial fridge for less than a sub zero right
Has anyone found the new links for these?
Looking for a fridge my wife saw on t.v. and was a subzero at 15k plus. I came across your channel and 👍👍 she loved the look better at a third of the price but unfortunately it's discontinued. I read a comment left above of the new models to come later this year (2020) I actually was wondering if you had any compatible models you would suggest?. (Around the same price range)
I've been searching and can't find anything as good as your deal, but I thought I'd just ask anyway.
Yeah, nothing like seeing that subzero price, right!? We haven't seen anything with this type of size and value but with the new models coming out hopefully the price will be comparable to the discontinued set.
Design Loves Detail check out fisher paykel, look for the 24” inches depth, that brand also very good and not pricey
Save up or apply for a loan and get the Sub Zero, you will not be disappointed. The reliability of a Sub of the long term is well worth the investment.
@@emssmiley2002
I actually had one in when I was renting a home and my neighbor actually has one similar to the one we are looking at which is cheaper.
I have 4 kids now so going all out wouldn't be financially the smartest move but definitely would get one once my 2 youngest kids are bigger.
How much is the length and inch that sub zero
The links are not working. Do they still make these
What if i want cabinetry panels on top of the refrigerator doors?
Thanks for the question! You would need to get something that is referred to as "panel ready" and unfortunately these are not. Perhaps their new model coming out later this year will have that option.
Do you still like this? We are building a home, I like this one way better than the more expensive brands but oh my goodness those who leave reviews on this are so pissed- lots say it breaks and customer service is awful and waste of money etc…
Please let me know your experience the last couple of years
Hey everyone!! The new model (comes with a water dispenser too) is available to order now so I've updated the links in the description for you! We will likely be putting it in our new build next year so stay tuned for a review when that happens!
Thanks for the update. A new subscriber here.
Unfortunately the new model takes 9 months to a year to get. We've been considering ordering one for our remodel but my husband's family ordered one last July and still don't have it.
And the price was only $3800 in 2019 when you filmed this video?!?! Wow. Thats a huge difference from today's pricing.
They were not available when I looked. Are they discontinued again or just backordered?
Thank you for the update

The new model is available to order now so I updated the links in the description :)
What’s the brand???
How does the fridge look today on the doors? And little dents or divets. Ive seen reviews and pics of this with the excuse that there is foam in the doors that expand and contract and it is acceptable...whatever the heck that means. And where in the world do you see it for $3500. All i see on amazon is $7000 for this model.
Aside from our 3 year-old scratching across one of the doors within weeks of moving in everything looks great! We've had it for over 2 years now and haven't had any dents. Since this model has been discontinued I assume the price you're finding is pretty high for any remaining as we wait for a new model expected in the fall of this year.
the links to the fridge and freezer are showing page loading problem
This video is a year old so inflation... when i looked up this combo w/o the trim kit it was over 5200 not to include taxes. Btw the link for the trim kit isn't working idt.
it woulkd be nice if you told the viewer who the maker is and what model??
Thanks for watching! All that info is in the video description for you. Unfortunately these models have just been discontinued and the new models are expected fall 2020.
