The True Pro 36 inch bottom freezer comes with an ice maker. Also, I believe the True is more focussed on temperature and humidity control, and quality of components all made by True in their factory. If you want to keep your food fresh like a restaurant or grocery True has been doing it for decades but it is not for hiding behind panels.
Thank you. I've been looking at a few models in the last few years. We want a stand alone refrigerator w/o a freezer. I always notice the true refrigerators in stores. I really appreciate this, because we will purchase one w/in the next year.
True 48 side by side includes an ice maker now, be great to see a video on this, there is virtually no information about this on the web (including on true's site). Put a call into true & they couldn't tell me much about ice maker either :(
@@YaleAppliance1 Appreciate ur quick reply, video link u sent me refers to True's fridges from 3 years ago (when there were no ice makers in them), that's changed now. Love your videos, hope you do one on true's built in ice makers soon as that's a major game changer for someone on fence between a sub & a true!
Thanks, but… You spent the whole video talking about the difference between panelizing vs colors. What about the fridges themselves? I’m in the market for one of these and want stainless steel pro style 36” built-in, which both True and Sub-Zero offer. I don’t want paneled and I don’t want a color. Any advice about the actual head to head of the True 36” in stainless steel vs the SubZero Pro36? They seem very similar. How do the features and functionality compare, not just the cosmetic ordering options?
True is probably the most solid out of anything we sell....We are splitting hairs. However, nobody mentions service. Figure out who is better in your area and then buy that brand
very helpful as usual. but i am in need of a 42" refrigerator and have really wanted the subzero pro-line, but they don't make a 42" pro-line fridge. i even called the company and they said there is nothing in the works either which was disappointing. the only other in this category is the TRUE 42"side by side. i have concerns about reliability and need for repairs, etc. and i know subzero has had the market for many yrs on the residential end of the market. i am looking to purchase by yrs end and was hoping to hear more about these subjects. i know steve is a big subzero fan from the videos. any thoughts? thank you again.
True is an amazing company....really amazing. This is the worldwide leader in commercial refrigeration. So they make a good product. BlueStar and Monogram are also interesting.
What is the energy consumption of a 36 Subzero refrigerator column. It just says you need a dedicated 15 amp circuit. In the electrical specifications True reports an electrical consumption of 2 AMP

Great info but which uses better components? Which has fewer service calls? Costs for a similar configuration? Thanks
So similar...edge to True for components and to SubZero for service depending on the area
I like that they’re made in America! Could you do a show on American made appliances?!! Great video
We have a video on best appliances made in the US
Thank you. I've been looking at a few models in the last few years. We want a stand alone refrigerator w/o a freezer. I always notice the true refrigerators in stores. I really appreciate this, because we will purchase one w/in the next year.
They do have built in ice makers. I own one. 48" side by side with ice maker.
Thanks!

Great video. I’d love to see you do a Thermador vs SKS appliance head to head.
Great suggestion!
Thanks, but…

Awesome video. Can we get True vs Perlick video? I’ve got a project coming up and would love to be able to make an informed decision.
Perlick....don't really sell it.
True designed their residential athletically for the home. Commercial DNA for the home.
where can I get these fridge handles?

What about price? What about warranties? I’m looking to buy one or the other and that is important.

Can you get a subzero without an ice maker?
No
no mention about reliability and features .... all about looks ... com'mon!
We have other videos on reliability.....But looking for which brand has the best service is key
When I worked in food service I found that True refrigerators had sharp edges, once I cut myself on one. I would hope that Sub Zero doesn't
They probably could have sharp edges in a commercial setting. Residential is a whole other story
