      Any rooting hormone will do. If you can control the environmental factors, like light and temperature - then any time of year will work. If not, then spring or summer.

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ingridtheissen-anderson8622 I’d keep them inside or protected until you’ve decent sized plants - so we’re talking at least one up-pot, so at least they’ll stand a chance. That could be after a few months from cuttings. Possibly sooner in your climate.

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All you can do is prvide it with optimal conditions and wait - you can't force it to grow - it'll do it naturally. But if you're wanting to propagate, providing you can find a branch with fairly new growth on the end, then you can use that. Sometimes you just have to use flowering stems - but make sure to follow all the directions inn the video.

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely. It's not to keep them warm, it's to retain high humidity near to the cuttings. Just keep them out of direct sun. You can remove them after a couple of weeks.

  • @bellaterlaje

    Can we keep it inside under grow lights or where just regular living area lights are being used regularly?

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They’re high light plants so I expect you’ll need grow lights. If it’s not bright enough you’ll get loads of green growth and fewer blooms.

    Hi, how often do you need to water the new cutting?

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re drought tolerant so I leave mine dry a couple of days before watering again. Depends on your conditions though, so as they’re still young seedlings you need to keep a close on them till they’re bigger.

    My Mandevillle plant died during the winter so I dug up the root. Can I get it to regrow from the roots? If so what do I need to do.

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Difficult to say, Ray. If there's any stem left try scraping at it with a knife. If there is still green underneath then it's still alive. I have heard that it's possible for Mandevilla to die back to ground level then re-sprout again when the temperatures improve so all is not lost. Plant it in a pot of multipurpose compost - but mix in some sharp drainage like horticultural sand or grit (a third), water once, then put somewhere warm and sunny. Only water again when it's completely dry. Good luck!

    Is that for Ed and was he talking about the Mandevilla or was he talking about masdevilla ignea?

    • @Grow_Up_Man55
      @Grow_Up_Man55  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely the Mandevilla not the Masdevallia ignea - as he's spoken about it before. The cuttings are for me to replace the one I'm giving him - which will be the plant from the cooler side of the greenhouse - which is in a 5 litre pot and currently has 3 foot long vining stems! I may have to sacrifice some of those as they're all entwined around the trellis.

    Perdón Se,
    La traducción es tan rápida q no lo puedo seguir
    Podría ir más despacio en los títulos así lo puedo entender?
    Estoy fascinada x hacer la reproducción, x esquejes, mi problema es q la vara es muy delgada
    La q tengo es de color rosada y solo tengo una sola vara q es fina, y de allí nacen las flores ,con el problema de q de esa vara fina solo me dan 5flores,
    Abajo solo es vara q llega al metro1/2 de allí salen las hojas y luego las flores
    El grosor de la vara es de ancho de un hilo de tejer grueso, o del grosor del hilo de pescar grueso
    El color de la mandevilla es rosa claro al nacer y va cambiando a un tono rosado fucsia no tan fuerte
    Que puedo hacer??

      Hola. La traducción es de Google, así que me temo que no puedo hacer nada para ralentizarla. Creo que he perdido algo de tu significado por la traducción del español al inglés, pero... ¿supongo que estás diciendo que las raíces son demasiado delgadas para propagarse? Estás viendo brotes "enredaderas", que no se propagarán; necesitas un brote que no sea enredadera. Si su planta aún no ha producido ninguno, solo tendrá que esperar hasta que crezca un poco. Alternativamente, ¿por qué no intentar cultivar algunas plantas de Mandevilla a partir de semillas? Son fáciles de cultivar y también baratos. ¡Aquí tienes un vídeo de cómo hacerlo! ¡Buena suerte! th-cam.com/video/gaHliGFsvHA/w-d-xo.html
