Fragrance Free Body Soap with RECIPE

Sometimes soaps can be unkind to sensitive skin. And I've received a number of requests for a fragrance free soap. Since my soaps are handmade with only the essential ingredients, I thought that adding a fragrance free soap to help those with sensitive skin was a plus for my product line. I also decided to share that with you all. So, let's get started!

Fragrance Free Body Soap Recipe
Liquid Oils
- 544.31 g (40%) Olive Oil (**Only use 540 g if you are adding 5 g of Vitamin E Oil)
- 108.86 g (8%) Avocado Oil
- 27.22 g (2%) Castor Oil
- 5 g Vitamin E Oil
Solid Oils and Butters
- 408.23 g (30%) Coconut Oil, 76 deg
- 68.04 g (5%) Kokum Butter
- 68.04 g (5%) Mango Butter
- 136.08 g (10%) Shea Butter
Lye Solution
- 229.98 g Distilled Water
- 188.16 g Lye (Sodium Hydroxide)

I was able to make 10 bars of soap approximately 5 oz net wt each.
Method
1. Weigh and combine your liquid oils and butters in a stainless-steel bowl.
2. Weigh and combine your solid oils and butters in a separate stainless-steel bowl.
3. Weigh the distilled water in a heat resistant glass (measuring cup)
4. SEPARATELY weight the lye in a glass (measuring cup)
5. Slowly pour your lye into your distilled water while slowly mixing it with a spatula
6. Stir the lye solution until you feel that the lye is completely dissolved in the water but do not let your solution cool
7. Pour the lye solution into the bowl with the hard oils and butters
8. Slowly stir until all the butters and oils are melted
9. Slowly pour the melted oils and butters into the bowl with the liquid oils and butters
10. Begin mixing with the immersion blender until you see a light trace
11. Slowly pour your soap batter into the soap mold
12. Let sit for approximately 24 hours before removing from the soap mold
13. Follow instruction on the soap mold on how to place and cut your soap loaf into your desired size.
14. Store your cut soap in a dry, well-vented and away from sunlight for 4 to 6 weeks to cure.
Congratulation!!! Your soap is ready to use once cured.
PACKAGING, USING, STORAGE
- Once soap is cured, you can store it in a closed box, shrink wrap etc. This is all going to depend on if you are using the soaps for your own personal use, if you want to sell them etc. Be creative and come up with a special way to label and brand your soaps.
