    I can't keep a secret!!! The emulsifying wax is the key ingredient to creating an emulsified body butter. The emulsified body butters will be thicker than lotions and therefore require a different ratio of water to oils/butters. Enjoy!

    I dont have cetyl alcohol ☹️ make problem?

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there. Cetyl alcohol is not absolutely necessary but it definitely will help your body butter with it's thickness and silkiness. However, cetearyl alcohol may be your best alternative. Cetearyl alcohol will make a heavier, fluffier body butter so you may need to experiment with your recipe. Lastly, Cetyl alcohol is fairly inexpensive and available at a LOT of suppliers so I would highly recommend investing in some if possible. I hope this helps.

    Hi, I just watched your video & love how simple you explained everything. I'm starting my journey to creating my own body butter, and this is so helpful. Where do you purchase your ingredients? I don't know where to begin. I have no guide in terms of high-quality products or companies that you recommend. I also don't want to run into discoloration with my butter turning yellow. Help! Any advice & tips you can give would be greatly appreciated! 😊

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @RealRockinRobyn! I am so excited for you. I absolutely love making these products. There are several reputable suppliers in the U.S. that you may be able to purchase from like; Brambleberry, Candle Science, Lone Star Candle Supply, Virginia Candle Supply, Amazon (but be cautious on who their supplier is), Makesy, Nuture Soap, and Lotion Crafter to name a few. I would definitely try to find a supplier that is close to your location so that you can cut down on shipping costs. I do get a lot of products from Amazon (free shipping with Prime) but I just recommend to do a little research before you purchase. I hope this helps! P.S. Some of my more recent videos have the links to the supplies that I purchased. Thank you for your comment.

      @@jenaerose1 I bought it from new directions aromatics. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on why my body butter turned to liquid when I went to pipe? I used kokum and isopropyl myristate and the sour cherry seed oil. I didn’t use much oil so I was very confused on why it ended up melting while I was piping. I also used arrow root in the recipe. How can I keep my butter from melting while piping? Or at all lol

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @briissoawesome I am sorry I didn't scroll down to the end of your message. If your butter is melting fast I would decrease your light-weight oil. 30% is okay for cold months, but since it's getting warmer 5-10% may be better. I would also recommend increasing your hard butters as well such as shea butter (MP 89-100 F). Kokum Butter (MP 90 F). Mango Butter (MP 86 F). The temperature of your house may also make your butter vulnerable to melting. Another option may be to look into an emulsified recipe for the warmer months. Sorry so long, but I hope this helps. Thank you for your comment and question.

    Hello, I just had a quick question,....... I have made this recipe before, however I wanted to make it slightly thicker because the consistency came out more of a lotion than a body butter... What would you recommend, I do apologize, as I have only been making body butters for about a week now 😁 but i just love it! But want to make them better

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Congratulations on your new venture for making body butters. You can definitely make your body butter thicker by adding more hard oils. Slightly increase them until you find the consistency you like. I would probably begin by increasing Cocoa and/or Shea butter as they are solids at room temperature. You can also decrease your amount of oils as well. Best of luck!

    Why add water at all seeing the are oils and butters that provide moisture? Also which optiphen did you use the one for water or oil seeing they sell both

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @deannawilliams3455. Adding water isn't required. I add water because I sell my products at outdoor events in the summer and I also ship them in the summertime. So, an anhydrous body butter would definitely melt since it's heat-sensitive. If you are making it for personal use, you can definitely stick to only using oils and butters. You will still get excellent moisture. For this recipe, I specifically use Optiphen Plus from Brambleberry (www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/additives-and-lye/preservatives/optiphen-plus/V001762.html) I hope this helps. Why must it be wait for 24 hours before using it after mixing?

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi!! I prefer to wait 24 hours to let my my ingredients fully set. However, it's not actually necessary. 😉

      Hi! This was a sample size that I made to experiment with a new recipe. I think it came out to four 4 oz jars.

    Please can you give the measurements to try thanks

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @gracioustsrahene703, the exact measurements for this recipe is going to depend on the size of the soap mold you are using. I used a 50/50 ratio for my oils which is 50% canola oil and 50% olive oil. If you use soapcalc.net, you can put the size of your mold and the oil ratio in there. It will tell you how much water and lye to use. I'm sorry if this is vague. However, this recipe and more is on my Patreon if you want to access it that way. It has this recipe and many more. You can find the link in the description box as well.

      I just remembered, I do have a free recipe posted. Check out the "How to Make Fragrance Free Body Soap" video posted on July 10, 2023. You can use this recipe and substitute these oils and butters with the canola oil and coconut oil. This will make approximately 3 pounds of soap.

    Can you tell me, what is the best butters and oils for eczema?❤

    • @jenaerose1
      @jenaerose1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know there are a lot of people that suffer from eczema including my oldest son. My recipe is quite complex because I think I got carried away with wanting to add every moisturizing butter and oil that I could think of. But the few ingredients that I consider the foundation of my mixture is unrefined shea butter, lanolin, black cumin seed oil and vitamin E. I've changed my recipe several times and trying to see which one he like the best.
