It’s so amazing and beautiful that Mary’s one and only daughter the Princess Royal was by her side when she passed, the the same way her granddaughter’s (Lilibet aka Elizabeth II) only daughter and Princess Royal was by her side in the end.
When you look at her, she was a handsome woman and her granddaughter QEll favored her so much. So does THE PRINCESS ROYAL ANNE and Prince Andrew, in my opinion ✌️❤️😎
I think she was absolutely striking in her youth. As she aged she still kept a certain commanding presence that trnamits even through photographs; one can't help but look at her.
WHEN I USED TO SEE PICTURES OF HER, NEVER SMILING, SERIOUS, I THOUGHT SHE WAS SNOBBISH. THAT COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED WHEN I LEARNED SHE WAS PAINFULLY SHY.
It could also be part of a habit that she has from early photograph techniques. They always had you pose not smiling cause you have to hold it for several minutes. If you look at old photos in the mid to end of 1800s everyone poses like that. It was just too hard to keep a smile and always make sure you're in a comfortable position because if you moved it blurred the photograph. This continue in to the early 1900s out of habit. Even as photography became better people still held on to this just because that's the way all pictures were taken for so long.
Queen Mary not only safe guarded the monarchy, she's also the reason the monarchs have such an incredible collection of jewelry. When the Russian revolution occurred, many of the aristocracy, AND the new communist government, sold off their spectacular jewelry at rock bottom prices. Queen Mary snatched them up promptly. So much of the royal collection is directly tied into much of the history of Europe. She was a grand ole Dame whom Queen Elizabeth used as her role model, and she was ardent student!
Her and her husband were both good looking. Hence they produced good looking children. Letters to her bth King George showed a much softer side to him.
I love reading about Queen Mary, and I can see the late Queen Elizabeth in her looks. The photo at 8.03 is not her husband King George V its taken with his brother Albert she was engaged to him but he died, so she married George instead.
Beautiful pictures and a great documentary. Unfortunately, I cannot understand much of what this woman says. She desperately needs to work on enunciating her words. One word runs right into the next one.
There were 2 princesses Royal between Vicky and Anne - the first was the eldest daughter of Edward VII, Primcess Louise Duchess of Fife the 2nd was George V's daughter Primcess Mary Countess of Harewood
I love her Majesty's taste in jewels, how she took back the emeralds that her brother gave to his mistress, how she rose above the ridicule of her obese and 'poor' mama and how she was devoted to the monarchy. She gave no quarter to the woman who had the misfortune of marrying her 1st son, The Trator King ( Edward XIII ) .
When invited to stay at a friend's aazy from London during Ww2, she landed with an entourags of 27 cars, along with lots of ssrvants and several trunks.
@jogeraghty4774 she spent most of WW2 at Badminton House the country estate of her neice the Duvhess of Beaufort. After the war someone asked the Duchess in which part of the House had Queen Mary lived her reply was "everywhere".
It seems to me most royal women bring a lot to the monarchy while the males take so much away. On an aside, Beatrice like Ann, imo, looks more like Queen Victoria. It is nice to see her getting coaching/advice to make the most of her looks. Her sister is prettier and I can't figure out who she favors in her family.
I kind of agree. Margaret and Andrew were not really pretty or handsome, I think that they were just not ugly dogs like the other family members. Diana and Catherine brought in a chance for some more attractive offspring.
I've been researching her for more than 10 years and read diaries and letters from dozens of members of Royal Family members and other people, and have never heard that. Exact source would be useful.
You are being ridiculous and you sound like a 5 year old . King Charles is doing well and queen Camilla has proven her loyalty and love to Charles her duty and country.
What absolute nonsense. Queen Camilla is doing good work in supporting The King, which was exactly what Queen Mary did. You're just what David Starkey called a Dianamaniac. Now there is someone Queen Mary would not have approved if.
I always see Queen Mary as an arc of stability from Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II. She is my favorite consort in all of history. Great Video.
Queen mary did more to save the monarchy than she gets credit for! Amazing lady

Yes your comments were a reminder to me. What an incredible Woman she was. 👑🇦🇺

So does her great, great granddaughter, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor.
Randy should never be mentioned. Along with tampons he is a big embarrassment
Handsome 😂😂😂

Thank you. This was so interesting!!
Thank you!
I think she was an amazing woman and Queen 👸

I can see the resembalance between her and Lady Loiuse , Edward and Sophies daughter.x
THE BEST QUEEN THAT england had in a 100 years!,❤

When I saw a lovely photo of her smiling, possibly even laughing,I saved it. It was so JOYFUL and genuine!
She had the best taste in jewelry 💍.
That she did!
@@Marmite-and-Molasses she did indeed.
Yes, and she sure had alot
Great channel! I have subscribed months back. Keep up the good work. ❤
Thank you for your kind words!

I always thought that Queen Mary was so beautiful, especially when she was younger.
Her and her husband were both good looking. Hence they produced good looking children. Letters to her bth King George showed a much softer side to him.
Queen Elizabeth favors her grandmother. Queen Mary of Teck was a stately woman. I remember my mother was sad when she died.
She loved her bling!

Same here!
She was great
Shame most of the video is just snaps of pictures and none of them relate to what the narration is at.
💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester was her other survivving don. Not just Windsor.
Mum told me Queen Mary stopped at the Jones Kite Flower shop when mum was a girl and spending time around the shop.
@jamesbutler3960 I thought the last Princess Royal was Queen Victoria's eldest daughter Princess Victoria (Vicky) was the last one??! x
Queen Mary's daughter was Princess Royal ,she nursed thru the 1st world war .

I think Princess Mary, The Princess Royal, looked very much like Princess Margaret.
Enjoy your very interesting channel 👑

It is Teck not Tek.

Eugenie favors her mothers features with the Windsor coloring.
Eugenie looks like a young Queen Mother. Charlotte also looks like the Queen Mother when she was a little girl.
None of them were attractive to start with. Well Margaret
I kind of agree. Margaret and Andrew were not really pretty or handsome, I think that they were just not ugly dogs like the other family members. Diana and Catherine brought in a chance for some more attractive offspring.
Elizabeth looked almost just like Margaret, just a slightly understated, toned down version of Margaret.
Oh she would have straightened Albert Victor out real quick.lol
She certainly looks scary!
Known widely as 'Mad May'
By whom? I have never ever heard that, nor can I find anything to corroborate what you say, where did you learn this?

Grena-dier (hard A & deer).
She would scare a police horse 😂😂
She will be turning in her grave seeing how Tampons is ending the monarchy 😢

Who is “Tampons”
If wit was shit u would be constipated
