    I used them for a 2x3000 tempo at 3.20 and when i come back to home, i ordered another pair...best shoe for training and fast tempos.

    I picked it up a few weeks ago at a good discount and really happy with it. Smashed my parkrun Pb on the weekend, previously held by speed 2.
    Definitely agree with the fit.. Most narrow shoe I have but is ok for me. Length I went down to 11US which is perfect. For comparison I went 11.5US in alphafly 2, Nb and Speed 2.

    Got a Vaporfly, a Saucony Speed and a Puma Deviate Nitro but still Takumi is my go to shoe in every speed session I do. Fast, nimble and comfortable at recovery between sets! A real winner from Adidas! I managed to get it for 119 euro... great value!

    Love the Takumi sen, light, good bounce and fast. Currently in my go to tempo pace workout 5km to 16km 👍

    I used the Takumi sen 8 on a half marathon which was uphill (a total of 900meters elevation gain) mostly on gravel roads. I picked them over the other super shoes because the outsole grip seemed better suited for gravel roads. They were fantastic for that purpose, both uphill and gravel. For faster races on flat paved, courses without too many twists and turns, I would pick the Adios Pro 2 (or similar carbon shoe) over the Takumi 8.

    Just looking at your Power of 10. What did you use in your 15:30 5K back in April ? I like this one but never found it "faster" than say the Vaporfly or even Adios Pro 2 but I am not knocking your times any more :) That all said could only get this in a UK 12.5 and now adidas have started to do my "TTS" UK 13.5 I will certainly look forward to the next version as that extra wiggle room could tip the balance and been enjoying the Adios 7 in my correct size which has a similar form factor.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That was the Vaporfly 2 for the 15:30. Perfect course at Battersea Park, def better to use a full carbon job there imo, though Takumi would still be quick there. Be interesting how it feels in your TTS, difference in weight between shoes must be magnified once you get to 13.5!

    Hi, thanks for review. I’m toying with getting a pair of these but am a casual runner. Normally run 5-10ks and the occasional half marathon. Would these suit my needs or would Boston 10 be better? Also, how many miles would I get out of them before needed to change?
    Thanks in advance for any replies

    • @liam4603
      @liam4603 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm no expert but have the Boston 10 and Takumi Sen 8. The Boston 10 is a firm shoe and takes a good 50/60 miles to break the foam down. Once it's broken in, it's really enjoyable for quicker efforts and more suitable for longer/slower runs.
      The Takumi Sen was a luxury for me, I got it for £90 and just use it when I want to run fast.

    Hi Nick,
    Currently my speedwork / track workout shoe is the Brooks Hyperion Tempo which I specifically love because it's lightweight and low-stack without being overly squishy or firm. How would you compare it to the Takumi Sen 8's for the same purpose? Wondering if I should renew the Brooks or pick one of these instead for future training.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pierre, the Takumi are a little higher and squishier than the Brooks, so not sure you would love the Adidas. The New Balance SuperComp Pacer might be a better fit, or sticking with the Brooks is probably the best idea!

    • @pierre4405
      @pierre4405 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheRunTesters Hi Nick, thank you very much for your reply! I'll just stick with the HT's for now then :)

    • @Bodhished
      @Bodhished 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi mate, I have both shoes. Hyperion tempo is firmer and more comfortable fit and more versatile. Actually a great shoe for the rotation if you have a lot of high stack squishy shoes. Also find it a great gym/treadmill shoe.
      Takumi Sen 8 is faster and bouncier. Definitely a better race shoe. US sizing go 1/2 down from the Brooks.

    • @pierre4405
      @pierre4405 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bodhished Thanks so much for the detailed comparison! Yeah I basically use it in rotation with squishier easy day or long run shoes :)
      Still curious to try the Takumi Sen 8's though

    • @Bodhished
      @Bodhished 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@pierre4405 definitely worth it for shorter races and Speed work imo, as long as you have normal to narrow feet. I also relaced from over to under - under over which made getting them on and laced easier.

    Hi. Just got a set of these but one rolls my foot onwards terribly when I run. The rod at the front isn’t in the same place on the shoe as the other one. Not sure it needs breaking in or it’s faulty maybe? Thanks

    Bought this for just $90. Had a knee pcl ligament tear 4 months back starting to jog & daily walking,
    needed lightest shoe possible do you think this will be great for that or speed is required at all times.
    do the plastic rods hinder day to day walking comfort or foam makes up for it?
