Congrats Nick on the PB and Tom on the near-PB! It’s good to know the Takumi Sen is retaining most of what makes it great-the meeting of worlds between high stack supershoes and stripped down flats.
Sounds like the ideal race shoe for me as i never race above 10km these days..price is much cheaper then some of the unnecessary bulkier shoes..makes absolute sense for someone like myself..good to see these shoes being made and being reviewed for the less obsessed by marathons type runner such as myself 👍👍
I’m a max cushion guy as well.., but tried the takumi sen 8, on a whim, because I found it for $34.99, close out price. So glad I did.., I use it for workouts now.., and would probably use them for 5k & 10k efforts if i ever sign up for another 1.., great review
Many thanks. Did you notice the 10 causing excessive pronation? I've read some comments about that outside lateral strip on outsole essentially tilting the shoe inwards.
Love Takumi Sens, racing a 5 or 10k in a different shoe would just feel wrong at this point. Unfortunately can't find the Sen 9s in my size anymore and the Sen 10s aren't so reasonably priced - although not too bad at £160 and considering they keep their performance much longer than full carbon plated racers Hope not too much has changed from the 8s and 9s
Thanks for the vid! Do you recommend to run a 10K race in Takumi Sen 10? I've trained in this shoe for all intervals on track only, but somehow my running buddies told me it'd be safer and more comfortable to run in Adizero Pro 3 for my upcoming 10K which will take place this Sunday. What do you think?
Well done guys nice work , im wondering how different the Takumi Sen 10 is from my earlier 8's , and where has it improved the most , Also what sort of mileage would you expect to get from it when using a mixture of bikeways and track ,cheers.
I use streakfly mainly for short easy runs, forest tracks or hardpacked tracks with uneven/non-flush surface, dry conditions prefered. Takumis i use on fast tempo or interval sessions on even surfaces, tarmac or track. The energy return is much better on the takumi, but on softer soils the strakfly is more stable and reactivity is a lesser issue
never clicked on video that fast, was waiting for my lovely takumi review

Are these ok if you have a wider foot? Thanks

Great video guys. Just wondering if you had the choice between Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 or Takumi Sen 10 for a 5/10k race which would you choose?
still jealous of nicks panda socks 🧦
I don't normally comment on videos, but I do see Tom's JJK shirt... 👀
Plenty more where that came from
Hi guys, another spot on video, how does this shoe compare to the Streakfly?
