Kudos to the 'Wombat' Page RIP. For anyone reading this in 2023, the venerable NUX GP-1 has effectively been superseded by the likes of the NUX Mighty Plug MP2 which has loads of amps and effects, or it's latest iteration the Mighty Plug MP3 I have the NUX GP-1 (bought about 4 years ago) and the Mighty Plug MP2. You can still buy the GP-1. The Classic British amp sound it aims to replicate is a Marshall stack with loads of distortion. NUX's GP-1 is roughly the equivalent of the VOX Classic Rock AmPlug, but for a lot less. For the money it's still excellent value and a useful tool, as long as a mild to wild distorted Marshall voicing is what you want.
i am going to buy my first electric guitar in a few weeks and my budget is low for an amp right now so I have to wait for a lot of time before I get an amp so I will buy this and use this until I get an amp
This sounds so good on a Bass Guitar (in a rock/metal setting) that it replaced my Valeton Dapper Bass floor unit. The fizz works BRILLIANTLY here, and you get a Steve Harris style click from the boosted highs if the tone knob is on full.
I have this little unit. I’m hyper critical and let me say... this little thing is a MUST have, especially for how affordable it is. Buy one, you will love it!
For ALL the "loadshedding" we have in South Africa and want to practice, I think this is the best way, next to practicing on an unplugged electric guitar, if you have NO electricty at all. Thanks for the review. We have tons of power outages here in South Africa. So damn sad.
If you have times you want or need to practice but can't because of the disturbance to people around you then this may be the product for you. It does not matter if you are a beginner or a pro.
can someone tell me, is it good? i have budget for amplug 2 but that's it i cannot pay more than that for amps. is this better than amplug? i want to play heavy metal and hard and classic rock.

From memory, I think it's 3.5 to 3.5 male to male.
U need an aux cable and plug the cord into the phone and the nux amp then play music

Any headphones with a 3.5mm (small) jack. The Vox Amplugs are better but they are also twice the price.
