Sports Gamers Online Props for doing your homework.. Only thing is I wasn’t crazy about Fight Night 2.. Or even 3 but the psp version is pretty good.. My top 5 would be Mike Tyson Punch Out, Victorious Boxers, Fight Night Champion, Knockout Kings 2001.. Ring King
I'm not sure your comment is going to get it the needed respect considering you need to go back to the first grade and have them teach you the difference between "then" and "than"..
I remember that game was that on Sega Nintendo I don't think that was PS1 but it was a good game also there was one that featured Larry Holmes I really enjoyed as well. But moral of the story is Round 4 and Champion took the cake when it came to actual boxing very few glitches my hat goes off to the designers programmers soft and Hardware don't care who built the engine build the new one for the PS3 trust me just like Black Ops the very last one had no cutscenes and you were still moving as you thought it was video was awesome
round 4 might be the most underrated boxing game lol nobody talks about it it didnt have much to offer but the graphics were clean and i had a good time playing the career mode
Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing is still my favorite boxing game. I played that game all the time when I was a kid. I remember one time I played the game a whole night on to the morning.
Round 2 was my favorite. You could block 4 different ways. Blocking punches to the left or right side of the face and left or right punches to the body. Plus you can heal different ways to your boxer as a cutman in between rounds. Although boxing games after this had better graphics, Round 2 had more dynamics!
Fight Night Round 3 on the 360 was my Favorite of all time. I made so many legends that weren't included. The gameplay was amazing. it had a huge edge in timing and responsiveness that r4 and Champion lacked. Those 2 had a strange millisecond delay and wack knockdown physics that really stood out with me in a negative way,. It was also more realistic/ less arcadey when compared to r2. The animations in r3 were amazing.
Great video and list, but I am surprised Fight Night Rd 4 and original Fight Night didn't make the list. Also, the Rocky games on PS2 were surprisingly fun. I would agree though, Fight Night Rd 2 was probably the most fun I had of any of them, and also the most time put into it.
There was one game that I enjoyed playing that wasn't mentioned in the list that is what got me interested in boxing when I was a teenager: That was Boxing Legends of the Ring for the SNES. It focused on the middleweights such as James "Lights Out" Toney, Rocky Graziano, "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler, Thomas "Hitman" Hearns, "Sugar" Ray Leonard, "Sugar" Ray Robinson, & a few others. Some of my favorite boxing games that I have played over the years (some mentioned on your list & some that aren't): Boxing Legends of the Ring, Foreman For Real, Greatest Heavyweights, Fight Night: Round 3, Knockout Kings 2000, Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing, HBO Boxing, Fight Night: Champion, Contender, Riddick Bowe Boxing, Chavez, & Chavez II. In the NES version of Ring King, I never could figure out what the trainers are doing in each of the boxers' corners between rounds. While Contender for the PS1 had a bad reputation of having a repetitive trainer yelling at you "Don't back off now!", the game had an insane amount of boxers in the game. Even though you can only choose from a few, I was able to find a Gameshark code that allows you to play as any of the other boxers. You can find that here: gamehacking.org/game/88619?hacker=BigBossman HBO Boxing had some crummy graphics & the commentary along with the boxer's introductions were lacking. The feature I liked best about it was having to build just about everything up about you boxer such as his punching skills & chin among other things. The game would also show an in game alert when your boxer or opponent got injured. One time my boxer got a broken cheek bone. Boxing Legends of the Ring (& Chavez II) allowed you to create a boxer & customize the power of your punches. It was a long time after this game that a game allowed you customize your boxer's punching power of each punch.
good list. knockout kings for the ps1 and ready 2 rumble are my favorite boxing games of all time. ring king is a underated boxing game for the arcade and nes.
@@Antdadon11 I still play at least a couple times a week but mostly do Legacy mode and Bare Knuckle exhibitions, tend to get lagged out of a lot of online matches
I agreed on your until 4 to 1 which I have no clue if its a personal opinions based on yourself, but there is no way in hell that FN Round 2 is better than Round 3, and that FN Round 3 is better than Fight Night Champion which has been played for 8 years now and still Facebook Leagues you can Join today!. I ran leagues online, I was #9 Ranked Player on Round 3 and #17 on Round 2 so I know what I'm saying. 4) FN RD 2. 3) Punch-Out. 2) FN Rd 3. 1) Fight Night Champion. Just listen to yourself how u said 3X more great things about Fight Night Champion than u did any other Game. Andre Bishop is a Legend and Icon when it comes to a Boxing Game my dude. Great video and much appreciated :) 👌🔥🔥
Agreed and just mentioned some of this at the top. I don't play FNC anymore but that game was/is amazing. And I know people still play it to this day online almost a decade later. I may go back soon actually but MLB the show finally stole me away.
I like the much faster gameplay of FN Round 2 over all other FN's... Me personally, I think Round 2 was the best in the series by far... I'm glad to see someone else who agrees...
Super Punch-Out wasn't half as famous as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, even though it was equally as good. I don't know why it was not as popular back in the day
1-PSPs Rocky. Do not get this Psp version confused with all other versions. The psp Rocky is super difficult even on easy. Great game. 2- Ippos Road to Glory for ps2. Aka Victorious Boxers. 3-Arcade and NES version of Punch Out. That's my top 3. I found every other boxing game way to easy to beat.
This list is missing 4-D Boxing... The granddaddy of all EA Sports boxing games and the reason we got games like Knockout Kings to Fight Night Champions... If youve never heard of it might wanna check it out... Would have been my number 1 of all the boxing games listed here.. Great great game even today...
Knockout kings 2001 is far and away the best simulation still. The gameplay in champion is the best but the ai and recovery system is horrible. In 2001 you could take a round off if you got in stamina trouble and be stronger later whereas in champion it feels purely luck based. They say fight smart to increase recovery so I throw 30 punches and land 25, dont move too much and get 7% recovery whereas my opponent throws 120 and lands 20 and gets 14%. Just too arcadey. Body punches meant something in 2001 but weren't op and didnt score as good. The judges had different ways of scoring the fights and as you got to know the names you knew what to do to win the rounds. For example, Samantha Loveday gave 2 pts rounds more often than most and jack hsu scored for the boxer. With those 2 judges it was common to see a split decision because loveday would give the brawler 2pt rounds and hsu woukd score for the boxer. Everything in champion seems to be based purely on connects (amateur scoring) whereas 2001 scored mostly on damage. You could land 7 punches in a round and ein the round if they were good counter punches. You lose that round in fight night. Fight night feels like a huge step forward in boxer control but a huge step back in boxing realism.
One of my favorite things to do in 2001 was to fight as Danny romero with his horrible stats and just pound the body against my friends. I would lose every round until they got hurt enough to knock them out. Piss them off so much cause they think they winning and then ya done. Also champions biggest flaw is the auto block. At least in previous games you had to chose where you were blocking...like I said it's a beautiful arcade game but a horrible sim
Another thing about round 2 was...if you dropped someone in the corner, and they get caught on it-if you throw fast enough w the right combos l, you can bobble their head like a funkin speed bag until the opponent hits the canvas....me and my brothers used to have competitions on who can get a knockdown and bust the opponent up in the corner or on the ropes the longest....until they drop. Hint: it was always me.
Knockout Kings 2000 was my favorite game. It had that rapper O with 4 songs by him on the soundtrack. Also Shane Mosley Floyd Mayweather and evander holyfield were all in that music video
What about Facebreaker? You gotta throw that on the list if you mentioned ready 2 rumble.. it was the next level to ready 2 rumble and it was pretty fun to play.. Peace...
I just want a new victorious boxers game. It has the most complete diet/training and it truly impacts the fighter's skill and physique and his carreer length.
Cool video. I've played them all and one stands head and shoulders above them all - Fight night Champion. Game is as realistic as a boxing game has come so far. There are still people playing that game online almost a decade later.
I just wish they would make a boxing game that's realistic to how someone would fall when being knocked out..idk who they got for the animations on fight night 4 and chsmpions Fight night round 3 had the best knockouts.
