Knowing how to take care of bags is an important factor in keeping them looking their best. I am AMAZED at how some people spend so much on a bag, then just refuse to care for it properly. It never made sense to me.
I have abused my mini crossbodies so much, I've finally upgraded to a satchel. Even though they aren't luxury bags they are genuine leather so I do try to take care of them so they last.
Thanks for the tips!! I didn’t realize how harmful it was to store your bags in their original packaging!! Just ran up to my room and unboxed all of them 😄💕
I have a question about the open shelf storage of your bags. I would love to put my bags at display too, but I am so afraid of dust. How often do you clean the shelves and how do you clean without damaging the bags?
One tip I learnt yesterday to be careful with your sanitizers. Cos the alcohol sanitizers on your hands during these covid 19 season will cause your bags to discoloration especially on the handles when you hold and carry your hand bags. 😅 Please be careful. ❣️
Good tips!!! How can you keep bags from dry rotting? Also with stuffing, should you keep a silica gel pack to absorb humidity? Lastly, what is the link of the inserts you use. Please advise
Thanks for all the tips!! One tip I try and remember is when storing my bags not to OVER stuff them with tissue paper or air paper too as you can stretch the bag out even when just storing them! I see my mom do this all the time and I'm like noo its too much ! 😅
i haven't got enough space to spread out my bags on shelves etc but i do keep moisture absorbers like DampRid around my bags to help with moisture control!
Yes the color of the HIDUPZ is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
Great advice 👍 I absolutely never store my bags in their boxes. I also don't store them in dustbags cuz I luv looking @ them..lol But there's NO sunlight so they're good! TFS
Thanks so much for sharing these handy tips! I had no idea storing the bags in their box was so bad for them, I’m a sucker for packaging so I keep all my boxes! I’ll definitely be rethinking my storage over the weekend and setting my babies free 💕
I’ve heard that sometimes baby wipes can end up drying the leather because it contains alcohol. Because of this i use these bag/shoe wipes that I buy at shoe shops (aussies you can get at Williams shoes and Mathers). These wipes contain oils to help condition and clean leathers. Just my recommendation :)
She said she use alcohol-free baby wipes for canvas bags (like LV Noe in the video), and she only use clean cloth + a little bit of water on the leather.
Thank you for the tips... All very useful. I immediately took my peekaboo off the hanging hook. 🤦🏼♀️I always rotate my bags, usually by latest purchase, however I didn’t realise it’s healthy for bags too. Good excuse to keep buying more.
Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 and I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your clutch! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don’t want to spend so much money on it now, I have been *yutulu* buying the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability
Omg is this why my LV smells so bad?! I’ve always kept it in the dust bag but inside the box, so it was trapped. I’ve recently started to air my LV purse because I couldn’t handle the ‘funk’ it was releasing. And it’s a bag I hardly wear, only for special occasions.
I just love how you speak. Sometimes it is annoying to listen to someone but yours always make me so comfortable and relax. If i live in sydney I’ll definitely visit your dentist to do my teeth 😁 anwy thx for good tips! My bags in a safe side so far 😌
I learned about color transfer the hard way. I ruin one of my yellow leather bags from color transfer. I do tend to overstuff my bags. I have lots of bags so I’m am able to change my bags once a week. Not all my bags are designer bags.
Excellent advice! I am always so surprised when I review the preloved market and find so many bags that the interior is in terrible condition. I protect all my bags with organizers
Hi Isabella love the way you showed how to take care of our bags and I did not know keeping them in the boxes the color fads out like that and what great tips. Now I know how to keep them properly in great shape. Thank you Isabella love your videos as always and you by far my favorite TH-camr and oh the top looks amazing on you. Have a great week and stay safe. Love XO❤☺️
This was really helpful. With the last tip, there is another possibility. When they start looking a bit too well loved have them refurbished. It's far less expensive than buying a new one. There is a luxury handbag restorer in Melbourne. I haven't used them yet, but I bought a vintage Chanel bag recently which needs a little TLC, so when we are out of lock down I will be taking it in to the city and getting them to work their magic on it. I will let you know how it goes.
Have you seen some of these lively restoration videos on TH-cam? They are fabulous and would have my bag is service again very quickly! I love watching those, too, and look forward to trying one soon.
Good point about felt organizers in leather bags , most people don’t realize that felt is made of compressed wood fibers , that’s why it will dull the finish on your scissors if you cut felt with good shears. The wood fibers actually dull the blades to the point that they have to be resharpened professionally , found that out the hard way ! Very informative video TFS
@@peachyplanner4834 I don’t know but I would think that fabric would be better. I would contact the company and see what organizers they recommend fir their specific bag, that way you have a definite answer and a written reply
Thanks for the video, Isabelle! Always good to be reminded of these tips. What I like to do in terms of storage as well is to detach 2-part straps from each other (those that come with a buckle). I never like leaving indentations/discoloration on the strap due to the prolonged pressure of the buckle on leather bec. of a certain strap "setting"/length. I think it keeps the bag looking even newer when teamed with other care practices.💕
Great video! Just to make you aware that the best way to store a Birkin is actually on it's back and lightly stuffed. This is not always practical however if you are short of closet space.
Her Birkin already have marked lines outside. I noticed already those from other Birkin owners so I bought Luxury Inner Bag Expert it’s cheaper than 7rp.
Another useful video! I place my bags on shelves but I do put my bags close together 😕 but I keep the same colours bags together. I have limited space. Any tips?
In that case, I would make sure the bags are in the dust bags so avoid colour transfer and even if they are touching, as long as they are not pushing on each other, it should be all good! Thanks so much for watching hun xx
Thanks for the tips really help me!! and is true About leaving a space between them because I used to put them together and they got color transfer but now I’m more careful 💜
Thx for all the tips. I am a newby in designer handbags. Do you recommend an organizer for a Dior 30 Montaigne? Due to the lockdown I wore my bag only once, so sad.
If they’re in their dust bag and they’re in a glass cabinet should the doors be open or should the glass doors be closed for example that very popular IKEA one
Can you use the 7RP insert for other tote bags like LV, deauville, Burberry, etc. I used magic eraser to clean any stain on my leather good bags before. It worked well.
Thank you for this useful video. My problem bag is my Chanel double flap large lambskin. How do you store yours? I worry that if I store it upright, it will start to slant on one side due to the weight of the chain. If I store it on one side lying flat, I worry about the quilting becoming flat. Do you store the chain inside the bag or outside? Any advice would be appreciated.
Great video and thanks for the tips. I store my handbags in their dust bag but they are all in my wardrobe as I don’t have open shelves in my bedroom. Is this ok? I have desiccant gel packs in the wardrobe to absorb moisture. Would be interested in your opinion.
Personally I steer clear of the main inserts that we’re all into. I found a great brand via another girl’s TH-cam review of her own Birkin and honestly I’ve never looked back.
I live in a very humid country and I’m afraid that the humidity will degrade the leather (I already use dehumidifiers but I’m not sure if they’re completely effective). In this instance, would you also recommend storing the bags on a shelf? Thanks!
Hi Isabelle, I have a neverfull - Louis Vuitton and realised that it has a stained on the inside liner what should I do? Is there a specialised place that deals with that? I am in UK.
I have a tommy hilfiger bag that i bought and it peel and i store it on shelfs and i dont know why it peel also 2 more bags are peeled off as well i dont know what to do😫

Same for me too. I pause the video to take my bags out!! 😅
JJ L that’s exactly what I did! Couldn’t get to them fast enough 😂😂
I just ran in my closet and took my things out of boxes. Lol
I also do believe in rotating our bags 😂 but my partner always freak out whenever he sees me with a new bag ☺️🙃😳
LOL! That’s the case with me too!
I have a question about the open shelf storage of your bags. I would love to put my bags at display too, but I am so afraid of dust. How often do you clean the shelves and how do you clean without damaging the bags?

YESSSS. I saw a a pic of a beige chanel flap with sanitizer stains and my heart stopped beating. I would freak if that ever happened to my bag.
This also happened to my diamond ring and it losses it’s shininess on the stone!

For Chanels, i´ve heard it´s best to keep them on their "back" so the corners don´t get distorted because of gravity.
