Reduce feelings of anxiety and calm your nervous system quickly. Follow along as I guide you through a brief series of movements designed to ease the physical effects of anxiety, worry and fear.
This potent sequence of movements will release and relax all the muscles that contract automatically in response to anxiety. Namely the muscles of the back of the neck, chest, shoulders, belly and inner thighs. Once these muscles are relaxed you can expect to feel calmer, more grounded, and much more comfortable.

This is going to be my regular practice 💯 It works better than any physical therapy
Yep, education beats therapy.
I recently saw a somatic therapist and they helped me to gain control of seizures (non-epileptic). I am so excited to continue to explore.
Wow, that's an amazing achievement, nice work! Reach out if you have any questions, I'm here to help. Thanks for watching.

Hi Tanya, I’m so glad you found this helpful. Practice it regularly and you should find your anxiety reduces substantially. Thanks for watching. 🙏
Hi! Are anxiety and gastrointestinal issues interlinked? I’ve been getting a lot of gas and i even fainted. Let me know if these exercises can help?
@@divyanshayy They can be. Anxiety triggers tension in the belly and chest, chronic tension in those muscles will have an affect on the internal organs and the breathing. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
It WORKS!!!!!
Glad it helped Celene! Be sure to follow the Daily Routine too for all the most fundamental movements. Here it is: th-cam.com/video/pxqlAAVlRKU/w-d-xo.html

....Also, I never perceived my problem in the expression as anxiety,. but, I do have a mind that seems to perceive fear, anger, sadness , I believe that's it causes more " startle reflex"responses in my body.I think that I wouldn't have examined movements such as this.
This is one of the reasons I work on a large variety of movements, which might be helpful.
As Susan has said every day is a new somatic experience.
Tightness in the front of the body is the physical/bodily manifestation of feelings of anxiety, fear, sorrow etc. You cannot experience those emotions only through your physical body. And yes indeed, every day is a new experience!

@@LearnSomatics I already use two of your videos for my night routine, I'd gladly love to have one for mornings !!! I will try it out tomorrow, thank you for the recommendation :)
You're welcome. The Daily Routine would be great for the morning. Keep practicing.
I don’t know yet if this will help while I’m actively feeling anxious, but I did it after a day with a lot of anxiety and found it very relaxing.
I'm glad it helped you relax. Practice it every day for a week or so. You can use it when you are actively feeling anxious. If you use breathwork for your anxiety do that AFTER these movements and you should notice your breathwork feels more effective. This is because these movements will relax a lot of the muscles that can restrict our breathing. Let me know how you get on with it.
Wow this was AMAZING! Is it normal to cry afterwards? Maybe my body is releasing I feel SO decompressed
Hi @empress1994, glad you liked it! It's not unusual at all. Sign up to my mailing list I'm going to be talking about exactly this phenomenon in my next newsletter tomorrow. You can join here: ➡️ bit.ly/3R4zOVH

This is soooo great, I feel like butta (that's my Boston accent 🤗). Thx Colm.
You’re very welcome! Been to Boston twice. Good times.
@@LearnSomatics glad you enjoyed Boston! I Iive on Cape Cod now but close enough. BTW, I watched your discussion on Prymal (from a few years ago I think) where you mentioned you got your training from Martha Peterson. She's how I first discovered somatics a few years back and I now no longer need any chiropractic after many years of being a chiro frequent flyer. "The algorithm" just a week or so ago introduced me to your channel, it's great! Not sure what took it so long. Thx for your work Colm, you're helping a lot of people.
@@k.s.obrien9459 I made it to Cape Cod once too, beautiful spot. Yep I was trained by Martha. That's great that you no longer need chiro. One of the best things about Somatics is it allows you to be self sufficient. Appreciate you viewing my videos. More content coming soon. 🙏
@@LearnSomatics Somatics is the best kept secret - the pain med pill mills/big pharmas and chiropractors don't want anyone to know about it I'm sure. It is gaining recognition though and I tell everyone who will listen about it, although so many are hooked on the quick fix without effort on their part. The thing is that Somatics doesn't take much time in your day and makes you feel amazing everyday with a pretty minute time commitment relative to the incredible results. I'll be trying your new glute video today. Have a great weekend and thanks again for your terrific work Colm!

@@k.s.obrien9459 Love this! Agreed
Anything to pull you out of a depressive funk? Will this work ?
It certainly won’t hurt. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
i did the arms on both sidess against my body the best i could for my ribs , they are/ were so sore also doing it with other moves ?
Colm if youcan anwer as always I would appreciate it would this help with thorastic for my excruciating pain i am getting in my ribcage or do you have thoughts that might help me better right now after my most recent mishap?
Would I need pair it with each , do they complete each other or do they do similar things for our bodies.
How is this different from belly and breathing one
The difference is in putting it together with other movements in a sequence
I am sorry I meant this sequence for the body .
Whats the physical differences to the body , between this one and costcochondritis?
Thank you
You're welcome, hope it helped you.
