  • Parietal bone - These paired bone
    Flat bone
    Feature - Surfaces - External & Internal
    Borders - Anterior, Posterior, Superior & Inferior
    Angles - Antero superior, Antero inferior, Postero superior & Posteroinferior.
    External Surface presents Parietal tuber, temporal lines, parietal foramen
    Internal surface shows vascular markings of middle meningeal vessels, impressions of gyri
    Superior border presents sulcus for superior sagittal sinus
    posteroinferior angle presents groove for sigmoid sinus
    Two lines corresponding to central sulcus and Posterior ramus of lateral sulcus can be drawn on the internal surface
    Anterior border articulates with Frontal bone
    Posterior Border articulates with Occipital bone
    Superior border articulates with opposite side parietal bone
    Inferior border articulates with greater wing of sphenoid, squamous part & mastoid part of temporal bone
    Anteriosuperior angle forms bregma
    Posterosuperior angle forms lambda
    Anteroinferior angle forms pterion
    Posteroinferior angle forms asterion
