Side note: it's absurdly difficult to cut Superman if you're not using magic. Magic usually gets the job done, but non magical edges are rare. He took the Persuaders axe without being cut, but Deathstrokes sword got the job done.

You have too also realize superman has legitimately no training in anything at all that would help him fight crime or be tactically effecient in the field. He is basically just some office worker with superpowers. Him consistently being outsmarted and outmaneuvered by the most highly trained people on the planet makes sense. He is almost always written as somewhat gullible on top of that. It's why batman has beaten him at least 30+ times in the comics it's why wonder woman who is far weaker would beat him and it's why Slade just outsmarted him. its why his greatest enemy is just some rich guy who is far far smarter than him ...huh...reminds me of a certain genius billionaire orphan that dresses as a bat.

Superman should just do away with being Lawful Good and fight people like he does Doomsday, Zod and Darksied. Why is Superman not simply picking up the whole ship and dumping Sade’s ass into the ocean? Whenever some non powered character fights Superman the writing gives the ultimate plot armor to them.

There are many versions where superman sides with the Politicians because he doesn't want to disobey the government. Prime example would be The Dark Knight returns (2013) Superman knows the Govt is trying to take down batman only because he is keeping Gotham as stable as it can be while the rest of the country is messed up during the Nuclear winter and they are being petty. Its happened pretty on the regular where Superman obeys every order if it comes from the president. Heck, there is even a comic where superman is literally getting spanked by president Eisenhower, who reminds him "you're still taking orders from me!" to which Superman replies with a smile, "and i love it!"
In the very first Superman comics he sid actually go against corrupt politicians and capitalists a lot. It’s just changed as he became more mainstream, nowadays Superman is written sort of like he thinks it’s up to Earth governments to decide, not him, as he isn’t from Earth.

There’s a few things wrong with this comic, Superman not immediately knowing the bullets weren’t kryptonite, Superman having to use a shield against them even though he is thousands of times faster than bullets, and the fact that Superman was protecting the cartel boss. I understand Superman will not kill no matter what, but he also isn’t a fucking idiot. He’d of course not let Slade kill them, but upon hearing what he did, there’s no way he wouldn’t also take him in. Superman follows the rules of humanity, but when faced with an objectively morally correct decision, he wouldn’t follow the law instead.

How does one even humble the most humble superhero in comics?
I don't if I would say humbles, but he was certainly tough to handle.
I was an avid comic reader in the 70's and early 80's and have not caught up with the 2000's story lines up to today. To me this seems pretty ridiculous that Deathstroke would even be mentioned in a list of who could fight Superman and hold his own.
Superman has gone from not being able to fly (he could leap tall buildings in a single bound), not having x-ray vision or super hearing and a bomb or missile could hurt him enough to kill him, up to flying faster than the speed of light, having x-ray vision and super hearing and being able to move a planet.
This is my opinion, I don't think there should be so many versions of not just Superman, but all characters in the DC and Marvel universes. It seems like the writers just make it up as they go along, writing the story to have whoever they want to win, no matter who is fighting who.

Superman is also hampered by the fact that without the shield, one of his punches could easily kill Deathstroke, so he really has to limit himself in a fight, which Deathstroke knows and is taking advantage of

When fighting Clark starts at a certain point, and depending on how said conflict is going will begin to start holding back his punches less and less as well as using his other power to win a fight
You'd be surprised at what human beings can do in comics. Especially when they're Deathstroke.
His Ikon armor was no up to par with the Bat plot armor, which is why he lost unlike Bruce.

I loved the trickery employed by Deathstroke to manipulate Superman, it was logical and made sense. However, the design of his sword is the worst I've ever seen for something that's supposed to actually be used as a sword. The hilt design wouldn't enable much at all due to the ends pointing down in that fashion. I really wish they would look at something that actually killed when designing.

Superman defended a serial rapist/murderer/cartel leaders life. Knowing that the "justice" system that he'll be turned over to is part of the system and will just let him go. Sups has always been one of my least favorite DC characters for reasons like this.

This is why I hate how DC writes the superman character. THERE NO WAY IN HELL WITH SUPERMAN STRENGTH AND SPEED THE LIKES OF BATMAN, DEATH STROKE, AND LESS POWERED UP HUMANS SHOULD BE ABLE TO STICK WITH HIM IN A FIGHT MUCH LESS BLOCK HIS PUNCHES AND AVOID HIS ATTACKS.
That suit takes directs hits and redirects it back into a singular spot with like triple the force. Ofcourse it would hurt sups.
Marvel is not better at power level, Captain America can block hits from Hulk and Thor with his shield.

Marv Wolfman is/was an incredible writer and creator of characters for DC and Marvel. Marv's and George's ( Perez) creation of Deathstroke is simply off the charts. Like someone here mentioned earlier, when DS is well-written it's pretty much lights out for a lot of 'super-powered' costumed characters.

Does he just regularly monologue about krypton and his life story before taking perps in? Am I onto something or did I miss the issue where he screams "I CAN BE KILLED BY GREEN SPACE ROCKS" so loudly into the stratosphere the next 15 fucking solar systems can hear it?
You'd think if you had literally one weakness, you and whichever establishment is currently profiting off your existence would bury anyone and anything that might reveal such an extremely fucking important piece of info, at least I would. That or find a way to nullify it to the extent I can still do what I do without worrying about itty bitty pieces of my home planet finding their way into the hands of a mentally deranged billionaire dressed as a fucking bat.

This is exactly why I can't enjoy the super heard gimmick. You have all these demigods of " justice" but the actual criminals, the rapists and murdering drug lord's and politicians are never brought to justice. Same thing as most anime's, like one punch man. Guy could destroy every monster on earth but doesn't, because "meh feelings". It's lame
Doesn't matter if they did that since rapists and murderers will keep spawning. In order to truly get rid of them, you either need to cause the extinction of humanity, i.e Thanos without half assing it, or overhaul the system that keeps giving rise to them in the first place.
Even if any of these superheroes had the intellect and understanding to achieve that (which is doubtful at best even with the geniuses among them), it wouldn't be their place to dictate their "perfect" system to humanity.
