There are many versions where superman sides with the Politicians because he doesn't want to disobey the government. Prime example would be The Dark Knight returns (2013) Superman knows the Govt is trying to take down batman only because he is keeping Gotham as stable as it can be while the rest of the country is messed up during the Nuclear winter and they are being petty. Its happened pretty on the regular where Superman obeys every order if it comes from the president. Heck, there is even a comic where superman is literally getting spanked by president Eisenhower, who reminds him "you're still taking orders from me!" to which Superman replies with a smile, "and i love it!"

I often hate how they make Superman one-dimensional with this powers. Regardless if the have an Ikon gravitational shield, regardless of any swords or weapons Deathstroke will use; Superman is almost as fast as the Flash and any attack from Batman, Deathstroke, Robin, Hulk, or anyone else would move like molasses in January. @@neondiddle2039 but Superman has enemies who can match him in strength and intelligence. His best stories are always about his humanity and how he doesn't force his will. That fine line between being a god and also a human.

(Granted I've come to realize the Superman comics aren't really targeted towards cynical people). But take Injustice for a while. Oddly enough I like that interpretation of Superman, because it feels as human as it can get. Think of how many people have lost their family in a freak accident, or loved ones who were victims of gang violence, or war. As humans we all wish we had Superman's power so we could enact a our justice on the world. So we could kill whoever was responsible for our loss. Etc. But we can't. For the most part we accept it. A lot of people turn to alcohol or drugs. To me that's a very human experience. One that Superman doesn't have because he has this power that can prevent these things from happening to the ones he loves. I'd argue that he doesn't have the full picture of what it means to be human by default. And Injustice explores that if Superman truly was as human as he claims to be, yeah, he would snap from the loss he experienced. Its oddly very human to abuse the power you have and justify it with trauma.
that's the problem with some heroes, the refuse to kill even if the villain did a genocide. It's like they love fighting crimes and encourages people to do bad things because crimes never pay.
Deathstroke didnt humble supes here. Supes was trying not to hurt him the whole time. Be couldve thrown the ship into space or sunk it, sucked all the air outta slades lungs, thrown pebbles at him at mach 5, or lobotomized him by heat vision ay the eyes rather than at his weapons. Gotta give supes credit where its due.
I wish a lot that deathstroke don’t always remove his mask make him almost like Batman he’s cool when he’s like deathpool he’s an assassin not someone who needs to be seen alot it could become almost easy for anyone who genuinely doesn’t like him.
it's comics like this that make me see how messed up our world, our society is. catching a vigilante who tries to "clean" the worst scum. usually, scum like that have political influence and money to burn. and our society is running on this shit. catching this vigilante and stopping him from taking a life that destroys many lives is dumb. but... our "morality" kicks in. we are not Gods, we don't decide who lives and who dies. ppl need to be brought to justice in a "proper" manner. yet... where was Justice when innocent ppl suffered at the hands of the rich and powerful, the TRUE cancer of our society? the criminal element exists. and we never stop it, we just try to contain it, and many lives suffer before we do. and the "beauty" of it is that... IF we try to really eliminate it, we BECOME it. this is some messed up s*** right here.
I was an avid comic reader in the 70's and early 80's and have not caught up with the 2000's story lines up to today. To me this seems pretty ridiculous that Deathstroke would even be mentioned in a list of who could fight Superman and hold his own. Superman has gone from not being able to fly (he could leap tall buildings in a single bound), not having x-ray vision or super hearing and a bomb or missile could hurt him enough to kill him, up to flying faster than the speed of light, having x-ray vision and super hearing and being able to move a planet. This is my opinion, I don't think there should be so many versions of not just Superman, but all characters in the DC and Marvel universes. It seems like the writers just make it up as they go along, writing the story to have whoever they want to win, no matter who is fighting who.
One thing I suddenly realised from DC is that Superman, this being with seemingly terrifying abilities who is from a planet that was supposedly more advanced than Earth is absolutely shit to humans. Now I'm starting to get why Goku whoops his ass on every Tuesday....
I loved the trickery employed by Deathstroke to manipulate Superman, it was logical and made sense. However, the design of his sword is the worst I've ever seen for something that's supposed to actually be used as a sword. The hilt design wouldn't enable much at all due to the ends pointing down in that fashion. I really wish they would look at something that actually killed when designing.
If DC writters were more likely that of Invincible's these so called super villains are grated meat! How can someone who could lift tje entire planet and move way faster than the speed of sound iften defeated by mere mortals? Superior intelligence fuck... Give supes his due!

Supes repeatedly falls for his taunts and bluffs.
This could have been ended pretty much instantly if he just used frost breath after the second punch or just wrapped the guy in a sheet of metal.
It's almost like he didn't *want* for it to end quickly.
He did humble superman with his words dialogue was where the humbling took place
Deathstroke is capable of taking out 6 relatively powerful leaguers on his own.
... I... For a second there I thought the title said: "Deathstroke fingers Superman"...

Eh, saying Deathstroke "humbled" Superman feels like a massive overstatement. Deathstroke SURVIVED against Superman until his tricks ran out.

Really dislike this superman. Instead of going after the real villains ie: politicians and elitists who commit heinous crimes he instead gets cucked by the government and becomes its bitch. I don't like the writing here.. I agree with deathstroke and cheering him on.. am a superman fan too lol
That's the power of being the protagonist lol
In the very first Superman comics he sid actually go against corrupt politicians and capitalists a lot. It’s just changed as he became more mainstream, nowadays Superman is written sort of like he thinks it’s up to Earth governments to decide, not him, as he isn’t from Earth.
@@Elipson52008 that's weird but isn't Superman not a American citizen isn't he a citizen of Earth so he can help other countries without being called America's messenger

Super could use the Ikon energy absorption armor against stronger magical infused characters giving Supes the ability to hold his own for awhile because of his vulnerability to the electro-magnetic properties of magic.
Oh my gosh that would be nice to see
_I question this and for good reason. Superman is talking like a neutral evil rather than a total or lawful good, almost as if he has been changed by another influence. Therefore I am not on his side here._
This is why I said deathstroke beat black panther he can hang with supes. But again Fernando not only shows facts he proves em and he also agree and disagree even if its his favorite character true fan of both sides
To be fair he’s wearing the Ikon armor. A Superman threat level weapon so I think you can kinda see why it wasn’t included in the poll.

that's because they think if batman can "take down" superman, so can deathstroke
Superman defended a serial rapist/murderer/cartel leaders life. Knowing that the "justice" system that he'll be turned over to is part of the system and will just let him go. Sups has always been one of my least favorite DC characters for reasons like this.
...Gaunter O' Dimm...
Superman creates more damage than he does good
How does one even humble the most humble superhero in comics?
His Ikon armor was no up to par with the Bat plot armor, which is why he lost unlike Bruce.
Plus, regardless of what one wants to think, if you shoot at Superman with any type of bullet, Kryptonite or any other element.... as far as I can recall, his tag line specifically says that is what he is faster than.
Hence why I personally find him boring. Everytime he's on screen I think "well why even have the justice league"
@@neondiddle2039 but Superman has enemies who can match him in strength and intelligence. His best stories are always about his humanity and how he doesn't force his will. That fine line between being a god and also a human.
@@michaeld7617 I know that's where his stories are always the best. But when then I have a hard time believing in any struggled he has.
The intro is amazing... what's the title of intro?
The music my friend? It's "Voices" the composer is in the description!
that's the problem with some heroes, the refuse to kill even if the villain did a genocide. It's like they love fighting crimes and encourages people to do bad things because crimes never pay.
What does humbling even mean.
I mean superman is always humble.
Here's the problem with Superman he doesn't know how to fight because he depend upon his powers to get him through every situation
Kryptonite! Available everywhere?
Edit that. Fake Supes out. Very cool!!
Supermans morals are so fucked. Same with Batman.
Wonder when the other heroes will learn about going after Batman’s rogues
Ikon armor doesn't seem to cover the face......
Deathstroke vs post war arc Kakashi would be one hell of a fight
