I'm a therapist, and started detecting about a year ago. I can tell you that it is VERY therapeutic! It has everything; movement, mindfulness, grounding, even the back and forth movements of the eyes and body which are employed in a type of therapy called EMDR, which is effective for trauma and anxiety! It is definitely good for what ails you. Add to it that you meet the best people (other detectorists) and I could be out of a job. :)
It is so relaxing when you get out there in the fresh air swinging away. Such a great way to de stress 😁.

I agree totally Lesley, it's all about breathing in that fresh country air, hearing nature and feeling free from the world. Its a must have in my life now and I don't know what I would do without it 😁👍.
I do love a good buckle, such a delicate little find. Now having a coat of wax as we speak 👌.

Life is definitely so much better with a detector in your hand mate, couldn't agree more! Another great target fest my friend, and enjoyable to watch as always. The Star of David bag seal is cool, I've found a couple now & have numbers 711 & 2! I never used to bother with GB on the Simplex & it always worked well for me...have a good week mate
I was really pleased with that bag seal mate, not something I've ever really found and especially with any decent detail on anyway. Would be very cool to find and collect all of the numbers lol although I think from what I read, there are quite a few 🤣🤣.
I've always been on the ground balance side of the fence with the simplex, but had used it in the past without and found there wasn't much difference on my permission. As for the legend its a totally different story, suddenly its now a whole new machine after reverting back to 0 👌. Already there is a huge beneficial difference.

great vid again Dan .. we have been using 0 ground balance since we started on the stubble it makes a massive difference ,, it the way to go ,, and you couldn't be more right about the mental heath ,
I've always been one for ground balancing but I just couldn't take the chatter anymore lol. What a difference the 0 ground balance makes 👌.

Couldn't agree with you more, metal detecting has been a game changer for me. Life was getting in the way of living, now I looked forward to the weekends and focus on the positive things 😁 Absolutely going to try the 0 ground balance, especially on the stubble, been struggling big time. Maybe try the 6" coil as well. Great content as always.

The 0 ground balance will quieten and stabilise the machine even with the 11" coil on in stubble, but yes the 6" would do even more so 👍.

You will love it mate, makes it so much more stable and quiet and really picks out the targets a lot better, especially the smaller targets 👌. I think you are right on that date mate, I believe its a Swedish öre.

Mental health for sure. 💯 Agree. Great video. And thanks for the info on the ground balance. I often wonder if I need to ground balance my Nokta legend. I didn't for the first couple of months using it and haven't noticed an increase in finds since I started ground balance

I found the machine so much more quiet and stable after taking it back to 0 ground balance. I also noticed, as it was so much quieter, I could hear the smaller targets so much better like those small roman coins 👌.

The mount you found was interesting well saved. Wonder what the thick coin item is??. The little buckle was a beauty and with the pin. Well done on the Roman coins as well, one thing I don't find in North Devon. Nice hunt mate take care see you on the next one.

Hi Dan, so after you switched back to M2 (from M3) - did you see the same improvement in stability with the zero ground balance?
Do you ever use auto ground tracking?
Have you experimented with switching Ferocheck to Mineralization mode in 1.09?

Hi mate, OK so M3 I found to be very quiet and was giving me the feeling that it is very dulled down if you get what I mean ( I like a bit of chatter/ feedback from the machine. I have found that a zero ground balance vs an auto ground balance it much more stable, if your soil is not mineralised. Its not as quiet as M3 though.
Ground tracking to me, seems to mask targets a little, as it Is constantly changing, and if you have irony ground, it can throw the numbers off.
I've not tried the mineralisation mode as my ground is not mineralised. Would be interesting to see what it says on my soil though 👍.

Great video. I'm going to try setting the ground balance to 0 to see if I get better stability. Regarding frequency, what differences do you find between the M1 and the M2? Thank you very much, greetings from Spain!
Do you think your soil is mineralised? If so you will need to ground balance, but if not then you will really benefit from taking it down to 0 👍.
M1 is more weighted towards the higher frequencies so good at finding small gold etc. I find that M2 seems to be very good all round and I have certainly found a bit of everything with it including gold. It just feels right in M2 👌.

I had my first attempt at 0 ground balance on Saturdays dig and pulled up 2 silver hammered and a lovely Vicky 4 pence. I think it's the way to go in the UK.

Hi mate, thank you very much. Yes they are reportable to the flo but do not fall under the treasure act. I have a lot of items with the flo including a heap of bronze roman coins lol.

Hey Dan just tested my Legend with a Eddy Hammy. Frequency M2 is definitely best but on my test patch a ground balance of 50 gives me better depth than 0. getting a good 10 inches detection depth .
Thanks for watching mate, u find M2 just seems to work well in all situations 👍. Is it possible then, that you may have some mineralised? As a 0 ground balance should not affect depth unless there is mineralisation. 👍

Hopefully my Simplex has the good speaker in it or a different one than the first Legends came with.
I've not heard of many problems with the speakers in the simplex mate, so you should be fine 👍.

Thank you mate 👍. Its a little different on the simplex as 0 is good for beach detecting in salty conditions. With the simplex you can just leave is at 90.0 in the UK. All this info is in the manual 👍

Hi mate, would not need to ground ballance apply also for simplex +?regards Kelvin
Hi Kelvin, it states in the manual that leaving the simplex at 90 ground balance is fine when the ground is not mineralised, which is usually the case in most parts of the UK 👍. So yes you can pretty much turn on and go 👍

Thank you for watching all the way from Belarus my friend and thank you for commenting 😊. No licence is needed here in the UK to detect, but you have to have the landowners permission to go on their fields. All land in the UK is owned, so nowhere apart from beaches is allowed without permission 👍

@Дмитрий Матюшенко it all depends on what the landowner is like. Usually it is a 50/50 split on any item of value. My farmer is very kind, and has never taken anything from me or asked for money. I just buy him a nice big hamper for Christmas each year 😉👌

@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting I hope so as had to tape the wire up for now so my son doesn't touch it been one of many things that's gone wrong and kinda guessed the speaker would go but then the coil wire just made my day and its probably not the best since harvest is here 😢

Needless to say I'm glad I had my phone with me because I found something special that I just had to film 👌. I will be adding the clip into next week's video 😁
