Nokta knocked it out of the park with the Legend. Have had one since they first came out. No problems on updates just speaker at first but got fixed super fast by Andy at Nokta. Since then I've been discovering America. Your settings Wicked are close to mine and I do change from time to time frequencies during the hunt. From single 20 to multi 3 depending on the morning dew on the ground. I live around the Corpus Christi Tx area and we have sandy soils. Don't do open land here, mostly private. Just beaches, rivers and parks along with home lots and permissions. At parks I have a profile setting set for coin shooting only. Change tone breaks, tone volume, tone frequency and fine tune it to bypass the trash. I am a tone man and listen to tones because they will tell you a lot. Hell of video Wicked, good intel for the beginners
@mrbuckaroobonzai They sure did! I totally agree with you. I have one location that has crazy EMI and while it still tolerable for me in M3, I do switch to 10khz single and it's so clean and performs great like that. I am a tone Digger also, tells me way more than VDI. Thank you very much 👊 Wicked happy hunting!! I follow a guy that has a TH-cam channel with comic books that's from Corpus Christi! Another hobby of mine 😆 cards and comics. I love marvel and xmen and collect sealed vintage toys.
While working on a section of our property removing invasive garlic mustard, I misplaced my wife’s favorite hori hori (a gardener’s digging tool very much like a metal detectorist’s digging tool). It must have been stepped on an pushed into the dirt (by me, of course), because it was nowhere to be seen, So, after some research, I just bought a Legend. Have never owned or even used a metal detector before, so probably a bit excessive, but it seemed to have a lot of features that could help a newb. To be honest the setup was a bit daunting. Then, I found your video. Your explanation of the various features and why you use the settings and levels you use was extremely helpful. I set it up, went out to the sloping field and after about 10 minutes, DING, found it under about an inch of dirt. I have to say, pulling that tool up out of the dirt, my first ‘find’, was exhilarating. Maybe spending almost $1,000 on a device and accessories to find a $30 tool is overkill (and ridiculous in the eyes of many), but my wife is very happy to have her hori hori back, so I am happy. And, frankly, I had been thinking about getting a detector to explore the property for some time. So, now I am embarking on a new hobby. With a house built in 1770 sitting on 60 acres, there is a lot of property and history to cover. And, being newly retired, I now have the time. THANK YOU for making the set up so painless. This is going to be fun.
I'll be right there to help! 🤣 That is fantastic! Thank you for your comment and I appreciate your great feedback! Yes, the garlic mustard is tough to get rid of! One of my local farms uses it to get rid if bugs I believe, before he plants his strawberries for the season. I hope you find some amazing lost history, definitely keep me posted!! Thanks again and Wicked happy hunting!! You will love the Legend the more you use it!
That's fantastic! I'm glad to hear that. It truly works very well for me and the more you listen to it, the better it becomes! I wish you the very best of luck! Wicked happy hunting and Merry Christmas 🎄
Wicked Digger - I just got my new Legend. First detector I've ever had. Just watched your video on here and it REALLY helped me learn more about the settings. Thanks for all of the information.
Thank you, I appreciate that! 👊 I hope you have a blast with it. It's is an incredible machine, definitely my favorite and best machine I've used! Take your time to learn it, use mostly base settings, and slightly tweak it to how it works best for you as you use it and get use to it. Wicked happy hunting!!
Thanks for your review with understanding why to change something. I have had my Legend for about 7 months as I decided to re-enter the hobby after a long absence. Early on, I wasn’t sure what I was really doing and probably changing too many settings with out the understand you just shared. After a few months I felt something was wrong as there was too much chatter. So, I did a factory reset and bam back in business. Now I better understand what settings to change and leave the rest alone. Maybe revisit as I continue to learn the machine. Thanks again!
I'm glad to hear that! Hopefully it goes good and you can learn it properly and love the machine! Everything definitely has a learning curve but if you can't start at the basics or things are too far off, it can be tough to get back to a good starting setting.
Got a Legend recently and am still getting used to the settings menus and trying to figure out the best way to run the machine. This video is so incredibly helpful!!! Heading out to a farm permission later and I can't wait to give your recommended settings a go! I've found some good stuff with an AT Max and Xterra Pro...can't wait to see what the Legend finds!
That is awesome! I hope it helps, definitely works great for me! Good luck, I hope you crush it there! I appreciate you swinging by, Wicked happy hunting ✌️
Thanks, Chris! I have a Garrett AT Pro and I love it! But it's the only detector I've ever used. I'm seriously considering a Legend strictly because of the reviews I've heard. I will definitely refer to this video again if I make that purchase. Thanks again for your tutorial! :)
Youre very welcome! I appreciate you swinging by and checking the video out! The AT Pro is what I used for a while then went to the Simplex+ for 3.5 years and now the Legend. All great machines, but I just love this Legend. Wicked happy hunting!
Absolutely Charley!! I appreciate that very much! Being the first week last week, I totally forgot! One of these nights I'll get up and join the crew! It would be a ton of fun! Wicked happy hunting!!
Wowww! Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater metal detects....HHHHaaaa!!! Love your settings and using them out in the field with Great results....Fantastic - *****! Keep em' coming Man / simply great! ps. You even sound like Portnoy along with his mannerisms and dialect....Baaaa!
And your name is racer X!! Paul Gilbert, one of the fastest shredders on the guitar! One of my idols for sure, street lethal 🎶 🤘 Thanks so much! I'm glad they are working well for you!! I saw Dream Theatre open up for iron Maiden and it was amazing!!
Oh Yeah ! You know exactly what's going on with the Metal Scene Brother! I grew up right up the road from Paul and his parents house and used to see and talk to Paul all the time when he'd come home from Los Angeles with Racer X and then Japan as he lived there for a long time and also used to see and jam with Reb Beach from Winger all the time as well....all still in my area when not on tour and occasionally see them at all my music stores as well when there not on tour. I also collected all the old Japanese Ibanez shred guitars and have a bunch of the PGM'S - Reb Beach Voyagers - Paul Stanley Iceman ect. Man, D.T didn't come to Pittsburgh with Maiden on that tour and was Bummed....Speaking of, You gotta' get D.T doing the entire number of the Beast album...Unreal!......Thanks for the Great Video's too....helping me out with some nice setting and enjoy the cool videos...Cheers@@wicked_digger
Thanks so much brother! It is of course geared toward the Legend, but will really apply to most Multi frequency machines with these features! I appreciate it! Wicked happy hunting!!
Excellent video Chris, I hunt a little different on the beach, but this is pretty close to what I use inland. I do sometimes swing super slowly in certain locations 👋😀
Thanks so much! I can see the beach definitely different. I don't do much beach but often think of trying it out a bit. There is some old beaches areas near me too.
@@wicked_digger thank you I have been turning down my sensitivity on the beach down to 25 and 26 more and more. I often can run at 28. I only go up to 30 when I am wanting to run hot. I love your knowledge base you have on your Legend👋👍
😆 It is a great machine for sure! There is a lot of good machines out there but you can always upgrade and keep the other ad a back up or second machine for someone to use! Wicked happy hunting!! Happy Thanksgiving!
I can see that! They definitely set it up from factory about ready to go for everyone on average. After that, it's up to the operator to adjust anything to their own likings. I appreciate your input! 👊 Wicked happy hunting!
Have you found that the legend likes a air gap between coil and the ground?? I have seen a few tests that it seems like a air gap hits harder that scrubbing the coil.
I haven't tested it myself to see a difference but I have heard of people doing that. Pretty interesting. I will definitely try that out and see what my results are when I get over a target. Usually I scrub the ground pretty well 😆
I have had my legend since first batch hit the US. Had very minor issues mostly threshold issue otherwise it's fantastic I hunted all over buzzards b. Then down in the gulf. Also VA. NC. Conn. NJ. Beaches fields parks. Found a ton of seriously deep treSyre
Thats fantastic, it is a great machine for sure and truly can't be beat at the price point it's at. You must hunt over at scusset Beach then. I don't do beaches really but that's a good area for sure, very busy come summer time
@wicked_digger scusset is good kids go often so yup I bring the machine. I have family I n nys so I often hit old colonial farm fields throughout the fall spring summer I stay near the canal striper tog short blue run. I think we may have talked at one time camper site by the bridge. I think. Ok take care good luck out there legend will find the treasure
Great video brother thanks for sharing and all the great tips God Bless and happy dirt fishin what’s your thoughts on the update 1.13 I don’t use my headphones and the new accupoint Pinpointer is awesome I haven’t had any issues with using it with my Legend
Thank you, I really appreciate that as always! I haven't updated to 1.13 yet. Only because I don't have the accupoint yet. I do use headphones always, I actually don't like detecting without them 🤣 Hopefully I'll be getting the accupoint soon and will do the update and get that all squared away. Boost mode update will be coming soon also and will have all updates in there, so I may wait to do it all at once. I'm glad it has been good for you, same here brother!! 👊 ✌️
@@wicked_digger May your coil pass over the gold and silver until you are tired of seeing it. Not enough nice people in the world like yourself. Enjoying my new Legend too. I wish you the best Sir!
Yes, absolutely! I have been using Nokta machines since 2019 and started detecting in 2016. I have been a Nokta NOMAD since January this year. One of my goals is to help people with their machines, questions, and concerns as best as I can. I appreciate you swinging by, Wicked happy hunting!
I’ve been enjoying my Legend detector. Never had any issues and I’ve had mine for almost two years now, BUT, a big but, I was using my Legend at the beach, on the wet/dry sand. As I was swing my Legend, it locked up on me. It wouldn’t do anything. I couldn’t turn it off. It was in this state for about 5 minutes. Then it was back to normal. I don’t know what caused it to happen, but it hasn’t done it since. Have you had this happen to your Legend, Chris? Happy Digz. _/🎸👍
Thats crazy, I have not had any issues like that. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. Maybe just some glitch. Loose coil wire or something maybe. Very strange. I got your email and will reply back soon as well! I appreciate your support always brother! 👊 Wicked happy hunting!!
That is very good. Big silver should hit about anything but recovery speed 9 is pretty fast, I'd be afraid to miss small targets. I would surely miss tiny cuff buttons and I truly love those little relics. If coin shooting, I can see running that high. That's great though! Wicked happy hunting!
Little concerned bc the one I got is clearly returned by someone but hopefully all is well bc it came with the small coil even tho I payed for the pack that didn’t
It should be under warranty no matter what but hopefully someone just didn't like it for some reason. Was it from Amazon or a dealer? It's a fantastic machine and very reliable too.
You can only do it if the update is available on the website or if you have the previous update saved to your computer. Why would you want to revert to an old update?
I have a problem with signal variation. I was on version 1.11 and I updated to 1.13 but the problem continues. I only used it with sensitivity below 15. The device is new, it was only used once. I'll leave the link I made to the problem at another channel of mine, for you to see th-cam.com/users/shortsjqCXu1Csm1s?si=j5zIj1Lgh4HFL1hi
@BetoDetectorista. that looks like EMI to me, not a machine issue. Please make sure that you do a noise cancel first, just did not see that in the video. The first portion of the video, the unit was collapsed and that may make it worse of course because the coil is so close to the head unit. Also make sure your wifi is off on your phone. Try these things first please and then I can see if I can further assist you. If needed, I will send the video to Nokta and help as much as possible.
i like running cabled head phones its how i started 40 yrs ago no vdi old garett TR machine like single freq machine probley hardet one to use mine lab etrac fbs teck 05 to 99 khz older detectors no vdi blisstool others that can be tuned not so much like theses multi freq yup nice machines where i have been all over my yard use garett at pro 13 inch coil found ajuster knob copper older kerricen lamp not sure why after market coils change freq i bit that could not pick up with smaller coil and was not deep at all some thing to think about 8 detectors are my limit
I used to have cabled headphones on my older Garrett's also. I do enjoy the freedom of not being attached to the machine. I like the wireless. I have an old analog machine but don't use it now, it was a good machine though in its time! Thanks for swinging by, I appreciate it! Wicked happy hunting!
Hello friends, thanks for the author's setup and explanations of what and why. A few of my notes. First of all, I'm sorry, but the author of the video does not respect the instruction manual. The "Stability" function ONLY works in BEACH mode. Nowhere else, so it's useless to work with the Stability settings other than in beach mode, OK? For another, I also have multi frequency, and also number 3 (M3). Many "experts" recommend M2, but, not everywhere, this option can be used "smartly". In the case of a large number of colored targets, where a large number are of the foil type, it is always better to select the PARK + M3 mode. In this case, it is better to recognize all types of foils acoustically. In POLE +M3 mode, it is unfortunately worse for recognition. All tones "blend". Try it and you will know for yourself. As for "filters", in general, one rule applies, "the fewer filters, the better". Legend doesn't "need" it. To detect targets where there are very few, it is good to use "PITCH" audio. It is a strong sound that reports all signals with one note, but very strongly. The destination can be recognized by the VDI number on the display. Audio settings - purely according to your hearing dispositions. I personally like "6" the most. They recognize better the types of waste-foils. "60" is only for those with a great "musical ear". Regarding the setting of discrimination - or All Metal, the rule that "more information is always better" applies again, but it can often depend on specific "soil conditions". Nevertheless, it is very stupid to set the discrimination too high, as some "experts" do, especially from the USA. We in Europe don't do this. We have many interesting small targets in the attic, which you would "miss" with high discrimination. For example, a coin-Celtic Obolus, approx. 4-5mm in diameter. One rule also applies here, the detector rod is not a flail handle. The movements with the coil must be smooth and not too fast. Better forget about "Swing". Again in detail according to the "Recovery speed" setting. And last but not least, and without intending to offend anyone, rather as a joke, "Nokta Legend" is a perfectly sufficient detector for American searchers of all kinds of trash on the beach and in parks. We in Europe, however, need something better. So the well-known brands Minelab Manticora and XP Deus2, possibly a unique, great analogue, but also very expensive, the Bulgarian Nexus MP V3, or the very in-depth Russian Aka Intronik. Have a nice day everyone.
Excuse me? 😆 What do you mean I don't respect the manual? I don't hunt beaches and I am a relic hunter so I dig foil signals purposely all day. Foil signals can be small coins and relics just the same. Yes this machine is excellent for me and a good friend I hunt with has a deus 2 and there has never been a target that he has hit that the Legend can't. I have detected next to others with higher priced machines, even the manicure, and have out hunted them with my Legend and some instances even with my Simplex+! It's really not that different from your soil to here. I tend to stick to farm fields, houses and woods. I don't really go to parks and beaches. I don't want modern stuff or gold, I want old buttons, coins, and relics.
@@wicked_digger OK, so I'll repeat it, in the Instructions for use of this detector it is stated that the setting of the "Stability" function is possible - it works (!) only in the "Beach" mode. What did you not understand about it? In your personal settings it is also mentioned to set the value of "Stability", but, it is not in "Beach" mode, but in "Field" mode, so it will not work at all. Got it? As for America and Americans, you have "everything big ". And self-confidence. But in European conditions, you would be very psychologically out of tune when searching for treasures. You are not used to looking for the smallest objects and you have no idea what it is - what it is about. Targets of a few millimeters in size, at the maximum possible depth. I regret , but "large silver mice (buttons) in a depth of max. up to 10 inches, is a typical American maximum. For me personally, the targets of interest are at a depth of approximately +-15, exceptionally even 20 inches. The Americans simply can't do that, and you don't have detectors for such deep targets. That's the reality. Sorry, but you can't really compare Deus and Legend. They are two different detectors, where Deus is technically ahead by a large chunk. The only thing that can be compared to the Legend to some extent is the slight partial deficiency of the Deus in the detection of "iron targets", where the manufacturer from France still has some tuning to do. Otherwise, Deus is a bit ahead of Legend in everything. However, if Legend suits you, then that's great. I also have a Legend, but my number 1 detector is a Russian Aka detector, model Signum. Have a nice day.

🤣 That is hilarious, thanks for coming by!! I appreciate it! Wicked happy hunting!
@@wicked_digger May your coil pass over the gold and silver until you are tired of seeing it. Not enough nice people in the world like yourself. Enjoying my new Legend too. I wish you the best Sir!
@robertw2042 thank you so much. I truly appreciate that!! Likewise my friend! 👊
Your suggested settings will be really good for the LG 15 coil no higher than 5 in recovery speed in trash in trash iron filter 1 no higher
Yes absolutely! I do feel ok with recovery speed up to about 7 but swing a bit slower. Iron filter on 1 is perfect!
Good morning buddy
Good morning!! Hope you have a great day! 👊
@@wicked_digger you as well
Obviously you're on the Nokta Facebook page...same as me.
👊 Wicked happy hunting!!

happened once.
@@willrohan7256 This issue has hasn’t happened again for me. How long did yours stay locked up?
I was running 9 recovery and got a 1917 walker 7 inches
@@wicked_digger from a site sports365 bc they have a distributor near me figured might be easier to handle if is issue
I think they just didn’t like it/take the time to learn it bc im just now getting the hang of it n this thing is wicked lmao
I have found more coins on lower sensitivity levels minerals in the soul has a effect on higher sensitivity where the signal drops out
I can absolutely see that! Too high of sensitivity is too much almost all the time. Machines run much smoother at lower sensitivity 👍
How to go back to an old update?
You can only do it if the update is available on the website or if you have the previous update saved to your computer. Why would you want to revert to an old update?
I have a problem with signal variation. I was on version 1.11 and I updated to 1.13 but the problem continues. I only used it with sensitivity below 15. The device is new, it was only used once. I'll leave the link I made to the problem at another channel of mine, for you to see
