This is a fantastic performance and video. Weiss's famous G minor Ciaccona is played in the church of the Monastery of Torba in northern Italy, home to a group of Benedictine nuns from the 8th to the 15th century. The fragmentary remnants of the frescoes of them, painted in the Tower of the Monastery in the 9th century, are shown as Crugnola plays. The solemn tone and tempo, and a feeling of loss and longing in this performance seem to act as an invocation. The frescoes come to life, and I see the spirituality and humanity in these nuns, in their faces and eyes, in their expressive silent gestures, in their beautifully drawn and painted feet. It is a poignant and moving experience to have, to see them this way. This eloquent performance transcends the centuries, conveying a sense of who these women were, and sounds to me to be a homage to them. Your playing of the Ciaccona here is second to none, as I also thought when I watched your earlier TH-cam performance of it in 2018. It is wonderful, thank you.

Monsieur crugnla nous raconte une histoire la musique est toujours une histoire vocalement ou instrumental vous avez vu ce monastère des gens y ont vécu c était l époque baroque un cadre magnifique ces peintures au mur il faut remonter à monsieur Claudio monteverdi italien bien sûr 1567/164pour savoir le baroque c est l exuberance une irregularities inattendu!! ❤❤❤
