      The alternate answer to his question could have been that Job was speaking to God who was telling Job “who are you to question me?” If one thinks about the escalation, Job at that point was at the peak of his suffering, and maybe reaching his breaking point. Regardless the point is that if the Bible can be edited, how can we take it as absolute, that’s the point of faith.

    • @davidplummer2473
      @davidplummer2473 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First you have to show what these edits are. Because we have such a mountain of extant manuscripts, we can know that they are very, VERY few and far between, like life-friendly planets.
      Second, you have to show that these edits change biblical theology and doctrine, or otherwise contradict other parts of the Bible, and none of them do.
      It's a criticism in search of a problem.

    That Elihu had a different take on what was happening to Job means he was added later? Huh?
    The final chapters of Job make it clear that all three got it wrong so there was nothing Elihu said that changed any doctrine. He was just somewhat less horribly off the mark. Job ended up having to offer a sacrifice for all three to save their hides!

    Do you have the original to determine whether there's been an edit? If yes, then why not believe the word of the original, which deifies Christ, if the issue you have is authenticity? if no, then is it intellectually honest to rule out the possibility that the Bible has been perfectly preserved?

The Holy Spirit Bible and Wikipedia are trustworthy. Sin has deformed us but Jesus came to transform the body, soul, and the spirit and our blinded minds. Not believing in God for one is a sin. It is called Unbelief. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." "Repent and believe in Christ for forgiveness. Only Jesus was perfect and only his blood can pay for your sin.

      Not true, the Bible is not completely historically accurate. Job is a wisdom book, Job never existed but the story of his life is a parable of why God allows suffering. Jesus himself recognized the importance of parable in conveying truth in a symbolic fashion.

      @@jimmy5170 the Bible is absolutely 100% historically accurate. Job was a real man, from the days of Abraham. He actually existed, and went through the trials from Satan. Yes, his experience was a lesson for us to learn from, but Job was a real man

    Having another testament of eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ to reaffirm the true church and build it as a living faith is powerful in uniting people with faith in Christ. The Book of Mormon has been provided for this purpose, read it and ask God in prayer if it is true.

    • @boltrooktwo
      @boltrooktwo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@briggy4359 Exactly the Word was WITH God, and the Word was God. To be WITH implies 2 or more. Jesus Christ was God before the beginning of this world and he created all things that were created in it, but not all things are created from nothing, the spirit or eternal soul isn't created but our bodies are. Good works are not filthy rags when God helps you to do them and they are His will or you are implying everything everyone does is wrong and dirty. This is exactly calling good evil and evil good by seeking for scripture to take out of context and are blind to hyperbole and the subject of the writing. Isaiah says "filthy rags" are about the sacrifices of the law by the Israelites while their hearts were far from God, it doesn't apply to every work ever done by any man. Jesus was a man and did many marvelous works as an examples for us. Like being tempted 40 days and resisting temptation by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Reading the scripture isn't filthy rags, heeding the Word of God isn't filthy. You have taken a reductionist false context to excuse yourself from acting righteously and walking with God as people before have. You focus only on the grace you get for free without doing anything, that isn't virtue, it doesn't build faith and promote the Kingdom of God, seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be added to you. Do not languish in only what you get without effort when God has given you capacity for effort.

    Define what is "good?" Why you need a definition. That definition is in God's holy written word. But, only a believer in Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit can work toward biblical principles. A believer is righteous only in Jesus Christ. Only in Christ, the second person of the triune God, can there be righteousness.

    Why is it wrong to live a morally good life while rejecting God? Well according to the Bible, God is the one who created those moral standards you abide by. So why would you accept something by someone you reject? That's both lazy and insulting.
