First things first: Incredible product.
I just received mine today for the BDM-020 (thankfully both of my controllers are this model), as well as my Canada themed front shell and black pebble-textured back shell (yep, I went all out. Merry Christmas to me!).
The shell replacements were super easy. The key thing to remember (and I'll mention this again) is that you GO SLOW and TAKE YOUR TIME. Do NOT rush anything, despite thinking you know what the next step is. Even if you're right, just follow the instructions because the BDM-010 and 020 have different internal placement for some minor components that can make for a major headache if you skip steps or jump ahead.
The LED kit was, thank the electronic gods above (and ExtremeRate) that there was NO soldering whatsoever and they even supplied the PVC tape to keep the one end from shorting out (merely as a precaution) and to keep some of the other circuit strips from getting bend or tangled. Very thoughtful of them!
The placement of the circuit strips/wiring was spot on and not wild amounts of extra length to contend with. The ease of which the parts went it (again TAKE YOUR TIME and PAY ATTENTION), was like a breath of fresh air. Directions on each of the videos that I watched for all three pieces (front shell, back shell, LED kit) were perfectly paced, very precise, and even included moments of pause to highlight where each screw would come out/go in, and even had little arrows to show you which direction to turn them so they wouldn't get stripped.
Included in the package was a small screwdriver designed for the screws, a small baggie of extra screws, and a plastic pry tool/spudger. They indeed placed everything in the box that you would need so you wouldn't have to scramble looking for something to use. Again, a very contentious and thoughtful company that wants to make sure you and your product succeed.
The instructions for using the LED kit once fully assembled was great and straight forward.
In the future, I will definitely be purchasing one for my second controller as well as an additional new front and back shell replacement.

Just installed this on my controller...a few hairy situations with a cable or two and not pressing the joysticks on hard enough but all worked out in the end has worked perfectly so far. 👍

@@ExtremeRate I did the install but when i charge my controller the yellow charge colors come on but the controller won't turn on for me to play it
This was easier than I thought and worked out nicely. My only complaint is that I installed your buttons on 2 separate controllers, and the share and start buttons seem short and don't protrude out as far as on a stock controller. It still all works, however. Other than that, this and the clear blue shell are solid products. Thanks!

Can the LED button colors be set to always match the touchpad LED?
If only there was a way to have the face buttons light up in their original colours.

I installed this all correct no pinched wires or anything I've modded a few of my sons ps5 controllers....I press the PlayStation button it all lights up then shuts off??? Any feedback would be rad

Will you be able to implement the non circle joystick led process on the Switch Pro Controller boards? This is truly revolutionary!
Non circle for the Switch Pro is not possible because the lights will be blocked by the middle frame of the controller. So we are working on the possibility of stick the light board on the middle frame.

I have the blue see through shell now. I will definitely buy whatever replacement kit you make for the pro on day 1! You guys are my go to place for mods

You can just use different buttons, they're not a part of the LEDs so just use the original buttons or buy new ones

@@Blvck-Jxss it’s cuz there’s different models on the controllers. But they recently released the new kit for the new version controller. So look for the led kit that says like 030 in the description. If it says 010-020 it’s not that one
i installed this on my controller, and the lights, and buttons all work fine. EXCEPT. the combination to turn the lights on/off or switch the colors does not work for me. any ideas on what to do?

I did everything exactly I believe and even checked the connection part of DTF LED flex cable if its aligned with the columns of middle frame bracket and i still cant change the lights or turn it off. I can only use red lights. This is incredibly annoying and I would love to see a solution. Thanks in advance.

Followed this video as best as I could got excited but no luck
LED won't power off, and I can't change colors (stuck on Red). I double checked the DTF LED Flex Cable connection and it is aligned to the columns of middle frame bracket (as per the FAQ section of this video). The Gamepad Tester (PC) shows B6 stuck at 1.00 and the L2 button is Black on the screen. How can I fix this? Thank you in advance.

The lights work and I can navigate the PS5 home screen with no problem. Access settings and all. The controller acts normal but when I go into any app or attempt to play a game the controller is unresponsive unless i plug it in directly to the console via USB. Can someone tell me what I did wrong. I even reset the controller with the small hole 🕳 in the back of the dual sense and I get the same result....

My ps5 controllers don't have them plugs on the sides of the motherboard. This didn't work for me. A little upset but I'll do some more research to see why this ain't working on my controllers

will this kit wear down and eventually start turning on by itself and over consuming the controller's battery like the previous LED kits on your other models or has this issue been addressed?
This version will light on/off sync with the controller (but you can turn it off with the buttons combo). But it will consume the controller battery when it stays on.
So I'm not the only one I thought I was going crazy because I have the older model on my PS5 controller and I rarely ever turn the lights on and the battery doesn't even last a day
I followed everything, but I’m having an issue of the buttons working in apps/games. In the Home Screen everything works fine just buttons stop working once in game

@@nadir5644 yeah I’d recommend downloading or going on game pad tester. Check and make sure all the buttons are working my issue was actually I forgot to connect the whole right controllers button ribbon connection in correctly. Once I figured that out it was smooth sailing. So what I learned is if any of the buttons don’t work on the controller the game/app won’t register or let you use that controller. I assume it’s an anti cheat protocol.

The instructions are great, however I have a problem. The Leds light up but the buttons do not work, then I have removed the Leeds again and installed everything as it was before. the controller works. I have a BMD-010 and so I also trimmed the felx cables. So everything that is BDM-020 I have cut.

How to install this if also installing the face clicky kit. Do I just install the face clicky kit first then install this right over top of it exactly as shown in this video? Or is there some sort of connection I should make or change anything like that?
Also I heard some say once you install the face clicky kit you can’t activate 2 d pad buttons at the same time. Does this mean I won’t be able to turn on and off the LED’s since you have to hold up and right along with square to turn it on or off?
Yes, install the face clicky first. You still can press down 2 dpad at the same time after you install the face clicky.
@@ExtremeRate installed it that way. Works great and wasn’t hard to install. 1 thing I’ll say is the install video said to use the insulating tape 4 times but my kit only came with 3 pieces. Otherwise product and video has been excellent so far

had to tweak it a little but it works fine! would recommend
I had the older Version to this and it would drain my battery even if I didn't have the lights on I wonder if the fixed this problem with this version

I ordered from amazon, the cables are already cut, screws, screwdriver and the paper guide are missing. The cables are bend and dont stick anymore because they are used. Why are you guys sending used and incomplete packages?

I installed the kit on 2 020 models …. It works fine first, but when the battery dies the controller flashes orange twice and I’m not able to charge it. I have to connect the battery directly to the controllers mainboard to charge it again … known issue? Any workaround?

you have a 020 model? how did you make it work? I have the same one but I'm having trouble connecting the orange wire that goes behind the motherboard, it's too short. also, the strip they provided with us doesn't have anywhere to plug into and at 9:45 there isn't a space where it can comfortably go.
My lights come on but the controller won’t connect to the ps5. The LEDs also only stay on if the controller is plugged in. The ps button or anything doesn’t work and I’m not sure where I went wrong.
It will be your ribon cable i had the same problem it was off by a mill i used paer thin double sided tape to pull it up in place
