    The trimmer string you mention ..is it the steel core wire type with the plastic coating? .. I have just bought & awaiting arrival of the Ego ST15 11T . Love your honest opinion by the way

    The one I had ,had to be hand loaded and the string would always tangle because you could never get the double ended string to wrap tight. It would backlash on it self. And it was a bear to carry around all day.

    I like a lot of line length for wider swath by taking the guard off. Since there is no bumping with these trimmers to get just what you want released, curious of what happens with the automatic feed out with the guard off on these. Maybe it will let out too much on its own.

      I’m not sure how it would handle the string with the guard removed. It is a good length with the guard there and it provides a lot of safety precautions.

    I have the EGO Trimmer, Hedge Trimmer, Lawn Mower, blower, and misting fan. They are great products!

    I have the 1st and 2nd gen EGO trimmers. Both of them are great but my Stihl 100RX trimmer has a lot more cutting power and a lot lighter on the cutting end.

    Mines been nothing but a pain in the ass! Line feed didn’t work. Finally managed to get it reloaded then it died altogether. Had to get it repaired and now it won’t stay running. It runs for three or four seconds and stops. NOT been happy with my EGO trimmer at all!

      I agree with you. It was the most expensive piece of junk I ever bought. No matter how I loaded the string it would run well for about 15 minuets and then tangle up.

      I just got one three days ago. It’s a big load, heavy, and the line is too short. Not impressed and I regret buying it. Hopefully Lowe’s will take it back.

    How does this handle weedy thicker growth? The lawn is a lot crabgrass and thicker weedy grass. Side yard has some hearty weeds as well.

    • @erbertlawnsco
      @erbertlawnsco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it would work fine on think grass as long as it's not over 1' tall

      I find the slower speed setting works fine for most situations and when I get into thicker growths I bump it up to the higher speed and just slow my sweep a bit. The Line IQ also just seems to work. It's nice not having to worry about the line length.

    It works great until the power feed stops working. I have 2 of them and the power feed failed on both. As far as I know, once that happens there is no way to load string. If it wasnt for that design flaw it would be a awesome trimmer.

      And I might add customer service on the warranty is worthless

      My power load button stopped working last week. On a rainy day I tried different ways to manually load some line. I was able to do it. The key is I only loaded about a 4' piece at a time. I also cut a slit in the plastic piece on the head to help hold the line in place while completing the task.

    My ego power head is a pain in the @ss, it does not want to thread through easy at all. I usually fight it for several minutes. So far not overly impressed with the power head. Auto feed is ok but not a game changer as compared to a bump heads like you’ve got. I use Husqvarna .95 titanium string.

    • @jasonl5523
      @jasonl5523 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The string might be why it isn't working. Not sure it's recommended with .95 and some string is stiff.

    • @Kansas-Paul
      @Kansas-Paul 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jasonl5523 I wish it was that simple but the ego trim er is supplied from the mfg with .95 line so that is the correct size. The Husqvarna Titanium is tough line so it’s possible a softer line might work better.
