"Were it so easy", a phrase Arbiter says twice but with two completely different meanings. I was in High School when this came out. My friends and I got 2 Xboxs together which allowed you to play the campaign with 4 people. We started up legendary in the evening and woke my parents up somewhere around 6:30 in the morning screaming "GO! GO!" at the screen as we barreled over the last ramp into the Dawn. I was never a big Halo guy... never owned an Xbox of my own. But this is still one of my fondest gaming memories. I live for nights like that. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Its one thing to say this was amazing, its another to combine this with what it felt like on release. When everyone would meet up to purchase this his back in 2007 when you KNEW you were getting a quality product before it evolved into hype trains, that lead to disappointment, which lead into the hate trains we see today. I own over 30 novels, and even all those will never compare to this original trilogy. Back in middle school, this was my first video game, only playing the previous games many times at my friends houses in the past. (my parents were anti violence so games like pokemon we not allowed. I was bullied my whole life, from period, to passing period, to period, to day, to week, to month, to every year of my educational life, but the day halo 3 released, 50% of the staff and kids were absent that day, those that remained, half were wearing Halo 3 T-shirts, and I had never seen greater comradery that day in my entire life up to this point. No game since 2007 has every done that before, that's why halo 3 was the best game ever made.
I like that Cortana seems muted when Chief finds her, but lights up and looks like she should when she hears his voice. Fun fact Halo 3 Flood theme has some weird noises you can hear but if the theme is played backwards, you can hear Gravemind's voice saying "Side by side, we march as one, Humans and Elites will die, The Earth will fall if we strike together, So forth shall all of life."
So appropriate for 'Unforgotten' to play after finishing the game. Anyone who played Halo 3 in it's prime, meeting new people, playing custom games, and being a part of a greater community will never forget those days.
The Halo 3 version is called Never Forget, basically the same song with a key change. Halo 3 was probably my favourite time during the 360 days and my time gaming as a whole, made so many friends and had some amazing memories of that time.
You just....get it Lucy. So happy you got to experience and create your Halo memories like we all did our first times. Halo is one of those franchises that I can always go back to and play again and it's still magical. Looking forward to your future Halo playthroughs!
You just cannot end the game without crying. Damn i remember how emotional i became when i first played the game all the way back in 2009 when i was about 7
You're going to love ODST. It was created by Bungie's "B" team at the time to bridge the gap between Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. ODST released 2 years after Halo 3 and just a year before Reach. It took a different storyline and didn't receive a ton of priority and resources, but it was the top selling Xbox 360 game in '09. Marty borderline outdoes himself with the soundtrack in ODST. The setting, the music, its just beautiful. 12 year old me couldn't comprehend just how special it was, but playing it through again made me cherish it. There was also a live action commercial made for ODST, another must watch. Enjoy!
I was shaking my head and saying "Stop looking at chat!" while watching some of that driving at the end, but I was also rooting for you to make it in one try after you avoided death miraculously a few times. I think it would have lessened the impact if you had died a few times, because big set pieces like this are really more about the story and everything you're seeing and feeling than they are about the challenge of the gameplay. So I'm glad you got some big feelings! Cortana is probably one of the least liked levels, I'd bet, but I think it's pretty awesome. The disorientation and the constant wave of Flood as Cortana and Gravemind talk to you creates one of the best atmospheres of any level in this franchise. I kind of hope to see it done again someday, even better.
I totally agree, I think if I had died a few times on the warthog run then I maybe wouldn't have been as emotional at the end haha. Usually I'm quite good at focusing on the game in big moments, but people were being extra generous with gifted subs etc and it was hard to not say thank you! :) Such great vibes.
Great finale and great video! Your playthrough of the trilogy has easily become my favorite on TH-cam. Love how you pick up on all the story beats, truly shows how much you pay attention and get invested. I also wanted to note something about the plot for you because the game doesn't really spell it out that clearly, but Cortana basically pulled a 4D chess move on Gravemind to save the human race. She sent a message to Earth saying she had the "key" to defeating the Flood; of course she was lying because there *is* no key to stopping the Flood. But she also knew Gravemind was listening in on everything she said and naturally he'd try to stop whatever Cortana was planning. That's why he keeps talking about her "secret." So she essentially tricked Gravemind into taking all his Flood to the Ark because he's worried about some macguffin that can beat him. And at the Ark is a Halo ring lying in wait and which is far enough away from the Milky Way that it could be safely fired against the Flood without collateral damage. So Cortana was making some big brains moves, once again proving she's the best haha Regardless, this series has been a pleasure to watch, can't wait to see what's next!
Omg that warthog run was so epic! Had me on the edge the entire time with those close calls and doing it on your first try made it ten times better 😮 Can’t wait for Halo Wars!
This franchise , is enough to bring tears to a grown man's eyes. Especially for me as i was 13 when this game came out, 9 when i first played Halo CE and 2. Bungies Halo is truly a love letter to humanity and that's why humans secretly being the forerunner with amnesia all along is such a beautiful concept. Truly a love letter to mankind!!! Despite what nonsense 343 made later on...Us true fans to this day believe Chief is still out there. Floating around. Sleeping.
@kaomatic agreed. I'll let others come to their own conclusions of whether they like the Halo 4-6 fanfiction as everyone has a right to enjoy what they want. But I'm just speaking the truth, its sad seeing what they did to the franchise turning everything Bungie lovingly crafted for all of us upside down. Bungie truly loved the fans and you can see with each of their previous games they loved humanity as a whole and wanted us to remember that we are the heroes when we work together even when all odds seems lost. Something 343 never understood
The 343 games are just a what if games lmao They're not canon Halo ends in 3 The story ends right there Since Odst and reach are precuels they don't affect the end of this story
This was truly a pleasure. Not just this episode, but to watch you evolve as you played this trilogy. I believe you’ve developed a love for this series now like a lot of us did when we were kids. For you to smash the final warthog drive on your first go was amazing! This ending, to me, is the best in any game franchise ever. Nostalgia is probably a factor, but this last level is just so beautiful, and the warthog drive at the end is utterly iconic. Marty smashes the ball out of the part with the music too! I look forward to seeing you continue with the series! Personally this is the peak of it, but you’ll love it still. Carry on Spartan.
Having played all the way through this trilogy hundreds of times, I never realized how desensitized I had become to all of it. Watching you do this series has been such a pleasure. I don't remember the last time I cried playing this game, but here i am with watery eyes remembering what it felt like my first play theory l through. I had stayed up late waiting in line at Gamestop for the midnight release. As soon as I got home at 1am, I sat down in my bedroom and played straight through. It must have been noon the next day that I was finished, crying in my chair, exhausted and finishing the last gulp of my halo 3 themed mountain dew game fuel. I must have been about 16yo. Thank you so much for this. As a lifelong fan, I'm so excited to watch you play the rest of them, including both halo wars. 343 at Microsoft takes over after Reach they take some liberties, changing the story about who the forerunners are, but don't let anyone tell you they're fundamentally bad games. Make your own judgments. Thanks again 🙏🏻
44:08 this dialog is just great! Love the pieces finally getting put together and spat out in one poetic scene. Why humans r the only ones who can activate the rings and all that finally fully answered. Even thou It’s hinted at multiple times being called the “reclaimer” ect it’s still nice to see it said outright. It’s also really cool world building indicating humanity is actually an ancient race before the rings went off shows that the librarians cataloguing on sapient species paid off and worked from the terminals.
I always loved how you can see the emotion through Chief's body language. Both Miranda's death and Johnson's deaths are the big ones that come to mind. If you haven't already, there are some really cool vi docs on youtube of the bungie team talking about aspects of Halo 3. Might be a cool watch!
I don’t know if you’ll see this but I found your channel through Halo and haven’t been around long but I’ll definitely be sticking around and watching more. The original Halo trilogy has always meant a lot to me and I hope you loved it too. Thanks for playing it
It makes me so happy to see people enjoying the journey I enjoyed, and being emotionally understanding and mature enough to burst into tears. It is SUCH an amazing piece of art and it’s been great getting to watch you play it ❤
It's nice to see you enjoyed The Halo trilogy, some streamers just go through the games without paying attention to what is happening, so it is refreshing to see someone appreciating the beauty of the games :)
@LUCYJROBYN It's challenging, but so is every Halo. When you think about how often players die during any single Halo campaign, failing a few Halo Wars missions is really just part of the experience. Plus, it makes it more rewarding when you pass them. Also, there's definitely a pause button. I don't know what it is on keyboard. But I'm certain there is one.
Favorite game series of all time. Halo is simply masterful! Every time I play the original trilogy I’m transported to being a kid again. I highly suggest reading or listening to the novels as well, absolutely spectacular! God I love Halo!
Such an amazing run isn't it ? You gave me goosebumps like when 8 years old me discover it, thanks you so much for that. Congrats for the warthog run too, you did it way better than me by the time. Respectueuse salutations de France, can't wait to see more !
You finished the fight, and you did that last run in your first try. I just knew that you were going to keep crashing. I'm glad you proved me wrong. Great job. I salute you 👏 👏 👏 👏.
I went to the midnight release for this in '07 at my GameStop, they had 2 or 3 lines stretched around the block. If you didn't experience it at the time you may not truly realize just how big Halo was. I've still got the Master Chief sculpt on my bookshelf. Arbiter's "were it so easy" at the end still gets me.
Its so wild seeing High Charity completely destroyed by the Flood. That is exactly what the Forerunners saw before they fired the rings. An entire galaxy covered in this. There was actually a cut level here where Chief would fight through the Mausoleum of The Arbiter fighting an army of Flood Arbiters. Cortana's mother is her creator. Cortana was the first AI to be made from a living human brain. She feels she is a shadow of her creator because she is basically an AI clone of her creator. Her creator is also kinda a war criminal so she also feels guilty about that. Those spider Flood kinda creep me out. Johnson was a Spartan 1 and was in his late 70s. He had a long life RIP Johnson.
Wow I can’t believe you finished the warthog run on the first try! It’s definitely normal to feel emotion for this finale. This journey took me a trip down memory lane and I got a little teary eyed too 🥲 thanks for the awesome content Lucy
Long live halo. I had a copy of CE day 1 release back in nov 2002. I didn’t even have an Xbox yet because some nonsense with shipments. Legendary game. I still remember looking at the halo ring for the first time. Halo 2 invented Xbox live and online console gaming. H3 reinvented fps with forge file share and theater.
It's always amazing to see someone experience Halo for the first time. Makes me really emotional. It was mine and a lot of other peoples childhood, so the nostalgia really hits home.
When Halo 3 got released, me and 3 other friends did a 4 player co op system link. Full campaign, from start to finish in one sitting. Amazing memories :D. Halo 3 is the best game ever !
I've played these games probably a dozen times, and every time I see a new person get to those hard hitting moments it still brings a tear to my eyes. Been fun watching your Halo journey.
The experience would be a bit different in the original games. Unique main menus, nicer loading screen and actual credits. The Halo 2 credit song is beatiful! It is called Epilogue if you want to listen to it! Also if you plan on playing Halo 4 and onwards. Sadly 343 industries didn't respect Bungies vision. How they told the stories. Less mystery and heavy exposition dumps. They also retconned major story details and didn't continue the story how Bungie wanted to. Stuff like artstyle and music was changed from the iconic designs and songs. Gameplay often changed for the worse. I do not blame the devs however. They were literally told during development of Halo 4 it was TOO MUCH like halo early on. Sadly the series reputation has been tarnished since Bungie left :/
Lucy, it’s been so fun watching your play through of the Halo games. I found your channel when you first started HaloCE. Each video has been great. Looking forward to your continued journey through the series. You will not be disappointed. P.S: Your warthog run this video was amazing. Well done on the first attempt.
Lucy you absolutely killed it with that warthog run! I’ve really enjoyed watching you play the beloved Halo trilogy. Love this franchise and hope to see more! 🤘
The ending for halo 3 was so amazingly done. It’s always the best thing to watch someone else experience it for the first time. The music stays just as good too. Just wait till you hear ODST
Been so much fun watching you experience for the first time what I've played 100 times! Massive respect for completing the final Warthog run first time, swore you were heading into the abyss a few times 😂
This is one of the greatest finale's ever made, it's a rollercoaster from start to finish with epic battles, tense encounters and an ending that leaves you feeling fulfilled, like you've finished the fight.
I missed the live stream of this but I'm so glad I got to watch finally! This might be my favorite video of yours! The emotions at the end are so real. That game just nails the ending, and so many great callbacks to the original game. Halo remains my favorite gaming trilogy of all time, and I'm so happy to see you enjoy it as well
This was Bungie on its peak! One of the best gaming developers of its time that even Sony tried sometimes to get Halo on its platform(rumors ofc), games nowadays get released with tons of bugs and with less than the half of features that Halo 3 had when released. The people who worked on the campaign were so skilled.
Im so glad you not only enjoyed this trilogy but also felt a emotional connection to the characters and their stories 😭 can’t wait for you to experience Reach
You have come such a long way since Halo 1. You would be a worthy coop player. Like others have said I would check out Halo 3 in 4 player coop. Its awesome!
Was great watching you play through all 3 games. So much nostalgia from my childhood from countless hours poured into these games. Of all 3 games, I'm the most critical of Halo 3, but it's still amazing, Halo 1 has great atmosphere, you really feel like you are alone on a mission. It's very intimate in that way, just you, cortana, and the ring. Halo 2 steps things up a bit but is pretty similar to 1. Halo 3 goes nuts with the campaign gameplay and the sandbox, huge vehicle sections, lots of AI fighting along side you, big landscapes, it really feels like you're in a full-scale war rather than just on a mission. Such great games.
If you also look at the final part of the warthog run typographically, you actually drive around the silent cartographer map from halo ce. One final thing, before you check out halo 4, look at the legendary ending for halo 3.
Great playthrough I've enjoyed your reactions throughout. Nothing will ever compare to playing through a game for the first time not knowing wht to expect. I remember back in the day when this game first released people used to post comments on playthroughs saying things like "Cortana spent years being tortured by the Gravemind". Those same people didn't seem to realise that the start of Halo 3 is only like 2 weeks after the ending of Halo2, or that the entire first trilogy happens over the space of a 4 month period (Sept 2552 - December 2552) with the final cutscene between Arbiter and Lord Hood taking place in March 2553.
Awesome playthrough. Great job with the warthog run on the first try. Well my dear Halo 3 is tough but you are just getting started. Keep it up your almost there.
"Looks like an illustration..." Yep! On the Boundary Break channel, apparently it's just a Banshee flying to/from an image. I think making a large-scale model of wreckage for only like 3 secs wasn't very memory efficient or something, can't remember. 🤔
A woman who likes this epic saga deserves to have more followers and I hope you continue uploading the other games, wait for Reach, the best Halo game, I hope you finish them all, a hug ❤️
Wow what a playthrough! It's been a blast watching you play this Playthrough. I remember like it was yesterday, playing the final level. It was right before school, and I was running late because of it. I only played half of the level or else I was gonna miss the bus. It was RIGHT AFTER 343 KILLED SGT JOHNSON and i had to shut it down!! I couldn't believe he was gone. Choking back the tears on the bus ride to school. It ruined my whole day lol. Cant wait to see you play the rest of the Bungie Era Halo games. I had a smile on my face the entire time. Congratulations on beating Halo 3 and most importantly FINISHING THE FIGHT! 💚

I remember how bad you were in halo, but you got so much better it reminds me of when i first played. It gives me so much nostalgia.
1:05:45 Thank you for taking us along on these stories with you. I found you during your rdr2 playthrough and I dont know if I will stop watching lol
Wow that's been a few years now! Thanks for watching.
@LUCYJROBYN it's all of our pleasure 😁
When cortana talks at 9:00 it an excerpt from the books from the first moment she is given to chief.
Awww wow, I will look out for that! I am currently reading the Fall of Reach
@@LUCYJROBYN I garuntee you will cry at least once when you get to the game
@@LUCYJROBYN Great book! I recommend all 4 of Eric Nylund's Halo books.
@Penitent_Intent No, I'm pretty sure she's saying what Halsey says to John when she first meets him during the kids king of the mountain game.
@ yeah I had to chat got that after and came tot he same
Conclusion you are right
Bro you walked past every single flamethrower in the game😂
typical of Lucy to miss out on weapons and ammo. She nearly touched one though.
Not many survive an entire warthog run! Quality reactions, Lucy! Tahnk you for this wonderful trip down memory lane.
So Cortana was making some big brains moves, once again proving she's the best haha
Regardless, this series has been a pleasure to watch, can't wait to see what's next!
It’s crazy to think after playing this game over a hundred times. Even still the ending always makes me cry.
"Truly was a great journey".. I see what you did there. Great series
"What are you, Lucy the God of Hammers?"

Loved your reaction 💙 Welcome to the family, true Halo fan right here now
I appreciate you!
Sleeping.
Same-age-halo-fan bro
same, i’m convinced the games 343 put out are all just a dream chief is having in cryo
or maybe a nightmare
@kaomatic agreed. I'll let others come to their own conclusions of whether they like the Halo 4-6 fanfiction as everyone has a right to enjoy what they want. But I'm just speaking the truth, its sad seeing what they did to the franchise turning everything Bungie lovingly crafted for all of us upside down. Bungie truly loved the fans and you can see with each of their previous games they loved humanity as a whole and wanted us to remember that we are the heroes when we work together even when all odds seems lost. Something 343 never understood
@@Hasdrubhaal 🤘🏻🤙🏻 early 2000s forever!!!
The 343 games are just a what if games lmao
They're not canon
Halo ends in 3
The story ends right there
Since Odst and reach are precuels they don't affect the end of this story
59:00 damn I have played this game so many times but this scene is the only game ever to make me cry besides rdr2
Even years later, after playing it as a kid, then teen, and adult. It still makes me tear up playing Halo 3.
I don’t know if you’ll see this but I found your channel through Halo and haven’t been around long but I’ll definitely be sticking around and watching more. The original Halo trilogy has always meant a lot to me and I hope you loved it too. Thanks for playing it
Love the Lucy logic in if you're going towards the bum hole, you're going the right way. 😂
I think you’ll love Halo Wars. It’s so good. Halo 3 ODST is a gem too.
I'm about half way through Halo Wars atm, loving it!
21:47 you can tell chief was smiling under his helmet❤❤❤
Absolutely
Great voice acting👏
It makes me so happy to see people enjoying the journey I enjoyed, and being emotionally understanding and mature enough to burst into tears. It is SUCH an amazing piece of art and it’s been great getting to watch you play it ❤
What i would give to experience this trilogy all over again. That whole era of games was just on another level
It's nice to see you enjoyed The Halo trilogy, some streamers just go through the games without paying attention to what is happening, so it is refreshing to see someone appreciating the beauty of the games :)
Halo 3 is such a GOATed experience. Such fond memories playing this game in high school.
1:04:50 Halo Wars is one of my favorite Halo games. It's sad that many people never give it a chance. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I do
I've played about half so far, loving it. Very challenging!
Same halo wars was so fun and the music is so good as well in that game and the cut scenes
Bravo Lucy! This has been so fun. Honestly, your genuine emotion brought me back to how I felt long ago.
You finished the fight, and you did that last run in your first try. I just knew that you were going to keep crashing. I'm glad you proved me wrong. Great job. I salute you 👏 👏 👏 👏.
The halo trilogy was and still is something very special, glad you were able experience these games we grew up with.
46:00 "Send me out with a bang..." ive never recovered from this one, im glad Halo 3 ended soon after, because it took all my emotion
Such a great arc. so proud of your warthog run! Gave me all the old feelings when i played this game on first was release. Thanks and lovely series
Great play through of such a legendary series!
Thanks for watching!
Im not gonna lie, watching you play this game has made me feel very nostalgic. Thank you for u locking these very fond memories with these videos! ❤😊
The Warthog run music name sums the entire trilogy up, Greatest Journey...superb music
Congrats on beating the trilogy! Especially for making your Final Run on your very first go! It's one of the best parts of a spectacular story.
I wept with you tonight, Lucy! It made me remember my first time better than I ever have. Congratulations on finishing the fight!
This one brought me back to being a kid again. I did the same exact thing with the sentry bot on Halo. Much love ❤️
This was my childhood playing this with my big sister as a kid. It’s been nostalgic
Been so much fun watching you experience for the first time what I've played 100 times!
Massive respect for completing the final Warthog run first time, swore you were heading into the abyss a few times 😂
I loved every second of this play through. Can't wait to see your reactions to ODST, Reach and Halo 4.
You did well not to die on the final warthog run! you’re the only one i’ve seen make it through the run in one go on their first try
This is one of the greatest finale's ever made, it's a rollercoaster from start to finish with epic battles, tense encounters and an ending that leaves you feeling fulfilled, like you've finished the fight.
Had so much fun following your playthrough with this trilogy. Onto the next 👍😁
Thank you for watching!
Halo's music will FOREVER be goated nothing will come close.
I have loved watching this series. Excited to see you play Reach-Infinite!
You have come such a long way since Halo 1. You would be a worthy coop player. Like others have said I would check out Halo 3 in 4 player coop. Its awesome!
Was great watching you play through all 3 games. So much nostalgia from my childhood from countless hours poured into these games. Of all 3 games, I'm the most critical of Halo 3, but it's still amazing,
Halo 1 has great atmosphere, you really feel like you are alone on a mission.
Always terrifying to see the Flood infection forms animate bodies in real time 😱
Awesome playthrough. Great job with the warthog run on the first try. Well my dear Halo 3 is tough but you are just getting started. Keep it up your almost there.
What a journey it's been! So glad i was able to catch the finale!
You didn’t crash the warthog once during that final ride! That is incredible! I threw my arbiter off the platform multiple times when I was driving.
Oh noo I'd be sad if I threw Arby away! haha!
@@LUCYJROBYN Before you ask, yes he goes down screaming 🙃
That final mission is my favorite mission in any halo game. so epic
Halo Wars will give you tears, ODST will get you in the smooth jazz vibes, i cannot wait for you to play the masterpiece that is Halo Reach
"Looks like an illustration..."
Yep!
I loved the playthrough thank you, it brings back memories.
Thanks for watching!
Halo 3 has a lot of nostalgia for me. Great work you’re halfway there!
Congrats on finishing the fight! Welcome home!
