It should be no surprise that this in widely considered the best level in the whole series--this level's got everything Halo has to offer: -Infantry battles (both wide spaces and enclosed), vehicle battles (both cars and tanks), and flying battles -A scarab boss fight but cooler than ever because there's TWO -Forest, Forerunner, and snowy mountain scenes -Action music, ambient music, and emotional music -UNSC and Elite allies in combat -The Flood -343 Guilty Spark (Only at the end cutscene, but still) -The incredibly satisfying end of the Covenant era -Unexpected alliances and betrayals Seriously, it's got everything. Absolute gold.
This is the absolute peak of Halo to me. The double scarab is my single strongest memory of the series. Found out as a kid the marines are smart enough to fly you to the scarab, leave to fight, and then come back to pick you up before the core explodes. Absolute cinema.
What? I played the campaign hundreds of times and didn't know they pick you up. Need to try this tomorrow! I always blew up the scarab with the hornet. Easiest way to just shoot the legs, then the back and after that the core directly. Never had the need to leave the hornet behind

The Rollercoaster of emotions Lucy experienced in this level is too much. All her facial expressions haha. We all went through the same thing back in 2007. I'd kill to relive the first time playing through Halo 3.

I just finished the twitch stream yesterday, and I was pleased to see you finally giving power weapons to the marines. If you can get both the spartan lasers into marines hands AND keep them alive through the first tower AND get them both on the hornet, they'll basically kill everything in general vicinity. You barely have to do anything.
Gosh the nostalgia! This is such a fantastic level, and I remember playing it with my friends as a kid, it’s peak gaming. However, these last couple of missions, I’m looking forward to see you dealing with them. “Cortana” is perhaps the most infamous mission in the series! Keep up the good work!
This is one of the best missions not only in the game, but the whole franchise. I ran through it so many times for skulls. Beautiful level designs, great music, the way Halo is meant to be. 👏🏿
If you were confused about the end, when you destroyed Halo in Halo CE, AKA installation 04, The Ark, being the place that can remotely activate all the rings at once, basically went into emergency mode and spent all that time between Halo 2 and some of Halo 3 to build a complete replacement of Installation 04, the literal exact same layout and all- though when you first see it at the end of this level, it's still under construction of course Which is WHY the MasterChief and Arbiter suggested they activate the ring. Not to actually use it cuz that would wipe out all humanity and other species in the galaxy, but because its still under development, activating the Ring before its finish MAY instead destroy the replacement Installation 04, since it wouldn't have all the stuff built into it yet to properly fire the ring. Therefore, TOTAL self destruct on Halo and it'd damage the Ark severely, making it virtually useless for the foreseeable future. That's why they suggested they fire the currently-in-construction replacement Halo to 343 Guilty Spark. Of course he assumes they meant when its fully done, because of course he would, lol.
The ark only went into emergency mode when the flood arrived. For the 6 months it took between halo ce's ending and the portal near Voi's activation the ark got sent a replacement order and went into production mode ie send big sentinel to tractor a suitable barely non viable world through slipspace, park it in the middle and harvest the materials to create the basic superstructure, facilities and then strip whatever's left for the biomes as needed by the halo ring's blueprint with updates as installation 00 colloquially known as the lesser ark or just the ark for short is primarily a production facility producing all six and there replacements of the newer installations of the halo array currently. Gyre eleven of the original great rings manufactured at the greater ark (destroyed) became installation 07 of the newer halo array network. -Lore ex-pert

Did you miss the frightening part of this? Flood can ally with you. That means everything they do is voluntary. Flood isn’t a mindless parasite. It knows exactly what it is doing when it destroys ecosystems and planets. Zombies that can think.
I never really thought of it as mindless tbh, it always felt very organised even if they were chaotic in combat. It was VERY creepy when they allied with us though, such a sudden change of tone!
The clutch kill on that hammer chieftain was beautiful! Down to no ammo, the quick decision to put a spike grenade in his path AND actually nailing the timing was A+ work!

I've only seen a grenade stick to another grenade in those top clips compilation, and even so a couple of times! Really cool replay too. Also I didn't know about that Horner tip to destroy the Scarabs, definitely would've made a Legendary run easier. I still think is more fun to get on board and kill everybody tho! Wish you could add a bit of commentary about the mission at the end, but maybe thats because you keep playing to the other level.
Still cant wait to see your reaction to the H2 terminals! The scariest thing about the flood is how intelligent the gravemind is. Forming that alliance because he knew if it was activated the flood and everything else would die again, but if he could stop it at the ark (where the halos were made) and control it, nothing would be able to stop them overrunning the galaxy

I really want to enjoy these videos. I remember playing through HALO 2 and HALO 3 on launch night...but watching this fumbling gameplay is just to maddening to sit through for more than about two minutes.
The actirs who played Mal, Jane and Wash from the TV series FIREFLY are tge soldiers you hear throughout Halo 3. They bought them all back for ODST as main characters. I hope you play both ODST and Reach. Both are great Halo games!!
The two most popular theories is that first the Chief can hear both Cortana and the Gravemind because through Cortana the Gravemind have access to the Mjolnir's communication suit and the second is that when the Chief was in the first Halo ring world one of the tentacles of a Flood infection form managed to pass through the seals of his armor between the helmet and the neck but Cortana used an electrical discharge to kill it before it could infect him but because some DNA had being left inside him it gives him the ability to connect to the telepathic signals that the Gravemind uses to control his various forms...🤔🤔🤔

I am a girl whos been playing halo since like 2007 when my older brother showed me halo 2. Its been part of my life forever. the music is epic. the story is amazing. the visuals are cool. XD wut more culd you ask for. im looking forward to seeing you experience reach and I hope you explain your thought on the "bungie" halo. bungie were the original makers of halo. they made halo 1-3, odst, reach, and wars 1. incase ur curious. story wise, halo 3 ODST takes place literally between halo 2 and 3. halo wars is like the start of the human covenant war. and halo reach is also very early in the war but after halo wars and before halo 1. the stories are epic.
During the double scarab boss fight, if you get in the passenger seat of the hornet, The AI will drop you ontop of the scarab and come back to pick you up after you destroy the core
at the end of the mission, when you found the hidden easter egg w/ the two banshees on the pretty skyline, you got the “Dirge of Madrigal” achievement. i just looked up what a “dirge” is, i’m still not sure if i’m done crying. that was really beautiful easter egg 😭😭
I don't recall any other game where the teams keep switching sides lol You fight the covenant then the Elites join you. You fight the flood then they join you. You fight with the monitors then they turn on you. They switch sides back and forth throughout the journey 😂
amazing playthrough so far, it's great to see you have such a good time with H3 - and the franchise as a whole! fun fact, the Mauler is based on the spin-action sawnoff shotgun from Marathon (Halo's predecessor) which could also be dual wielded and easily belongs in the top 10 best shotguns in gaming. The Marathon trilogy, while some of its level design can be a little mazey, are masterpieces in their own right for their action and incredibly deep lore alike, and some of Halo's most iconic aspects and designs can be traced back to it. Not sure if it's a bit too retro for your taste perhaps, but I would definitely recommend checking classic Marathon out :)
Don't know if you like reading but Halo has 35+ novels. You can check them by just following the release order. There are things that go way further into the story and things that will change and redefine everything you know about Halo. ;)
Whether it's actually true or not, I don't know (since I've never tested it too conclusively), but I'm pretty sure the Brute Shot's melee is actually really good against the Flood because of its huge blade on the bottom. During Halo 3's Flood sections, I usually keep one around just to cut them up more effectively.
Pro-tip @10:00 If you wanted to keep the Spartan Laser, you could have given it to a marine temporarily, let them shoot it (w/ infinite ammo), and then taken it back from them a little later.
I know we all love Johnson but Halo 3 really did make him look incompetent. Sierra 117: he gets captured Crows nest: gets forced to retreat The Covenant: Gets captured again and indirectly gets Keyes killed. Also fails to do anything particularly useful during the mission. I wish they'd at least given him a cutscene or something where he does something really badass to redeem himself.
I loved that women, she would’ve been a good admiral, she is why I want to name my first daughter after her as you already know after I mentioned it in a previous video, also by the way Juno through those rings at the end in the right order and you unlock a skull, I had to cheat to get that order

In multiplayer you kind of have to know every weapon, but in single player I guess you can get away with trying to hold on to your favorites.
Hi Lucy love your gameplay! If possible i recommend playing Transformers War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. Two games that are considered to be the BEST and a great introduction to the Transformers lore/universe. I know you would have a blast!
This game series is what I call a war against aliens, one of the best franchises portraying war against aliens, the only difference between real life and these games is that we in real life fpwage war against each other, unfortunately one side of the wards in real life like Iran now is waging war with the intent to eradicate their enemy nations entire population due to pure hatred while another is only being wages for the rich to equalise their wealth

It’s a bit late now but a way to cheese the game is use up the power weapons until almost empty then just give it to the NPCs who get infinite ammo. But yeah, bit late now lol

I am a girl whos been playing halo since like 2007 when my older brother showed me halo 2. Its been part of my life forever. the music is epic. the story is amazing. the visuals are cool. XD wut more culd you ask for. im looking forward to seeing you experience reach and I hope you explain your thought on the "bungie" halo. bungie were the original makers of halo. they made halo 1-3, odst, reach, and wars 1. incase ur curious. story wise, halo 3 ODST takes place literally between halo 2 and 3. halo wars is like the start of the human covenant war. and halo reach is also very early in the war but after halo wars and before halo 1. the stories are epic.
My favourite level this was all Marines and Elites working together 😁

During the double scarab boss fight, if you get in the passenger seat of the hornet, The AI will drop you ontop of the scarab and come back to pick you up after you destroy the core
at the end of the mission, when you found the hidden easter egg w/ the two banshees on the pretty skyline, you got the “Dirge of Madrigal” achievement.
i just looked up what a “dirge” is, i’m still not sure if i’m done crying. that was really beautiful easter egg 😭😭

I don't recall any other game where the teams keep switching sides lol You fight the covenant then the Elites join you. You fight the flood then they join you. You fight with the monitors then they turn on you. They switch sides back and forth throughout the journey 😂
amazing playthrough so far, it's great to see you have such a good time with H3 - and the franchise as a whole! fun fact, the Mauler is based on the spin-action sawnoff shotgun from Marathon (Halo's predecessor) which could also be dual wielded and easily belongs in the top 10 best shotguns in gaming. The Marathon trilogy, while some of its level design can be a little mazey, are masterpieces in their own right for their action and incredibly deep lore alike, and some of Halo's most iconic aspects and designs can be traced back to it. Not sure if it's a bit too retro for your taste perhaps, but I would definitely recommend checking classic Marathon out :)

Don't know if you like reading but Halo has 35+ novels. You can check them by just following the release order.
There are things that go way further into the story and things that will change and redefine everything you know about Halo. ;)
The piece of music of music at fhe very end i think is a nod to a game Bungie made before they made Halo, its in Halo 1 as well
Whether it's actually true or not, I don't know (since I've never tested it too conclusively), but I'm pretty sure the Brute Shot's melee is actually really good against the Flood because of its huge blade on the bottom. During Halo 3's Flood sections, I usually keep one around just to cut them up more effectively.
Pro-tip @10:00 If you wanted to keep the Spartan Laser, you could have given it to a marine temporarily, let them shoot it (w/ infinite ammo), and then taken it back from them a little later.

I know we all love Johnson but Halo 3 really did make him look incompetent.

Crows nest: gets forced to retreat
The Covenant: Gets captured again and indirectly gets Keyes killed. Also fails to do anything particularly useful during the mission.
I wish they'd at least given him a cutscene or something where he does something really badass to redeem himself.

I just thought that was funny, I don't mean to be a smartass...but Halo really is so much more fun when you learn how best to use every weapon and regularly swap things in and out. In multiplayer you kind of have to know every weapon, but in single player I guess you can get away with trying to hold on to your favorites.
Is not the longest campaign of the saga but dammm is an epic conclusion 🎉

Hi Lucy love your gameplay! If possible i recommend playing Transformers War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. Two games that are considered to be the BEST and a great introduction to the Transformers lore/universe. I know you would have a blast!

This game series is what I call a war against aliens, one of the best franchises portraying war against aliens, the only difference between real life and these games is that we in real life fpwage war against each other, unfortunately one side of the wards in real life like Iran now is waging war with the intent to eradicate their enemy nations entire population due to pure hatred while another is only being wages for the rich to equalise their wealth

Lucy I have been truly enjoying your playthrough. But you are not getting the true halo experience until you start trying to collect all the skulls in the game 😅 could be a fun challenge and extra content
Also I recommend you watch the movies that operate as movies on dvd and operate episodically on youtube
It’s a bit late now but a way to cheese the game is use up the power weapons until almost empty then just give it to the NPCs who get infinite ammo.
But yeah, bit late now lol
