G'day Everyone, welcome to the first video of 2022! If you’re suffering from pain associated with spinal stenosis, I hope this exercise video helps bring you relief. Let me know how you went down below. Make sure you’re subscribed to the channel also for more exercise videos. And I’ll see you soon for more! - Mike 😀
Welcome Mike to my program of my favorites list, totally effective exercises, I want to say from my humble opinion and I want to encourage everyone who follows you to do these exercises calmly without rushing listening to your body, it's great I'm personally going to put them on my daily life because I know very well that it is a great job for health and fitness. Excellent Mike, thank you thank you thank you very much!!
Thanks Mike. For a major sufferer of spinal stenosis, this is spot on. I have been given these exercises and others part of the treatment to keep me going. You are doing another great service to assist. Keep up the great work and enthusiasm. Jim
I have been diagnosed with lumber stenosis and recently had surgery on my back to decompress my spinal chord.and it has been successful... The hospital's physiotherapy department insisted that I carry out these type of exercises and although they can interfere with routine life, they are beneficial. ..
My husband was actually complaining of his usual debilitating lower back pain today. I enticed him to join me again in doing your lumbar stenosis exercises. Lo and behold after the exercise he said his lower back pain is gone! Can you believe it? I also noted that after doing 3 posture exercises exercises this afternoon, the pain I feel (I got bursitis in both hip joints ) when I do upper cross legs sitting position bending down, is actually getting lessened. Thank the Lord I found your exercises. Great work Mike you are helping a lot of seniors not only in Australia but around the world.
That is so great to hear Aurora, I am really glad that you have found it has helped you and your husband. Keep up your great efforts, consistency is key :)
Thank you! I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis a while ago, but these are the first exercises I’ve tried. You use such a nice pace it was very encouraging.
Hi Mike, just did your lumbar spine exercises and felt great afterward. Neither my back nor my hip hurt right now. I'm pretty active but the last hike I did on uneven snowy trails caused me a lot of hip pain, and x-rays showed the lumbar scoliosis. Hoping exercises like the ones you post will help me get back to normal. Thanks for posting your videos. I like your exercises for upper body with weights as well.
Great video Mike. My lower back gets sore on long drives. These stretches were great this morning before and after a 2 hour drive. Helped a lot, thank you!
Great to hear John! You're welcome! You'll find the extension stretches, as per the sciatica video - or 4 exercises to do everyday video, most helpful for those long drives.
I have spinal stenosis and have had surgery at L3-4, L4-5 and S1. It was clean out and did not work. I am doing your workout now for the 10th day. I feel some relief of the condition. I am 82 and the walking is the real problem. I am in rehab for balance and strength. Thanks for the work out.. all the best, GFH
HIMike thank you for your advice after a fractured arm. I was feeling low but you helped a lot. I’m doing the spinal stenosis ,knee stengthening excerises. Also excercise to make my arm stronger that my phiso recommended
I'm 80, and I haven't exercised in 30 years, my back hurts if I stand for more than 5 minutes, I'd really like to be able to get around more. I'd also love to see some balance and flexibility exercises. Thank you for putting all these videos up.
Hi Jean! Happy 2022! Am 70 & had exercised on & off until I found More Life Health & Mike in Aug.2021. His concern for seniors & our overall well-being appealed to me & started exercising. I feel great now, although my back hurt just like yours do. All you need is to be persistant, consistant & when you don't feel like working out, ask: why not? What do I have to lose? As to balance & flexibility exercises, have you subscribed to the TH-cam channel? There are many such exercises! I promise you work out with Mike & you'll forget you're 80!
It is never to late to start Jean :) You should be very proud of yourself for trying. We have a Facebook community too if you would like additional support from like minded peers. I will attach the link below. Any questions, please ask! facebook.com/morelifehealthseniors/
I just reviewed this video and, with the exception of the bridges, I found myself relaxing more and more just watching. , I'm familiar with all these moves, having found that they're all excellent, and feel oh so good! I do bridges regularly because I have spondilolisthesis (L5, S1) which pinches my sciatic nerve, after having suffered 3 bouts of painful and extended events which necessitate that I keep my core strong. This is a keeper simply because it's effective, even though I don't suffer from spinal stenosis, because it's truly relaxing and helpful. Again, my thanks Mike!...Anastasia
That is so great to hear Anastasia - I really appreciate your feedback, isn't it amazing that when our bodies adapt to certain exercises we can do them with more ease, it is like our subconscious takes over as we have already done the practice. Wonderful, keep up your great efforts!
Love it, Mike! I love the option of mat work (although I realize that it's very hard for some to do this), and more exercises to help with yet another aspect of aging. The overall combination that you provide in your videos of strength, stretching, cardio, etc. is exactly the right ticket for a balanced routine. It's taken me years to understand why we need this. With gratitude to you for not only explaining it all so well, but for providing the recipes!
Absolutely! Thank you so much for your feedback. I appreciate it. That is really great that you have so much awareness around this. Keep up your great efforts, I look forward to working out with you!
Hello, if there are exercises that I do on a mat, you can look for a didactic video on how to get up from the ground, even Mike can teach, and it's not difficult, but the options are many, the important thing is to move and look for your best condition at the moment, greetings .
The Hebrew translation is brilliant!! What a wonderful idea to have your words translated. As always, you are thinking of everyone! Wow, you never disappoint!! Stay well. and Covid free! xxx
I took notes, Mike, on the important ideas with these exercises. Motive: my husband and I will do these tomorrow. Together. On our living room floor. As soon as he fiddles through 'morning stuff'. I am not kidding. My BFF avoids 'movement' -- and now he wonders 'why' his bones ache??? ! You can be certain: I will report the benefits from these exercises (I already know this), as to the crippling pains my compadre feels.
@@MoreLifeHealth Good news! Hubby Gary printed your spinal stenosis article ~ and now does these exercises TWICE a day! The pains & stiffness in his back are gone! After only a few days of practicing these exercises, he can now easily rise from the sofa. Thank you, Mike. p.s. I have sent the link to another friend. Will report on that soon. :-)
Hi Mike . i have lumber and sciatica pain . i saw you doing exercise video then i follow sept by step reduce little bit pain . i have. The tingling numbness. burning on my left leg. and foot im doing the exercise two times a day

Exercise is important Gail. You want to get your body in the best physical condition possible. Take it slow, start with less and gradually build on this.
Relief indeed, yes after doing the 5 exercises. I don´t have spinal stenosis but some stiffness in the lower back. I went along with no difficulty on a mat on the floor. Wonderful way of relaxing! Thank you Mike!

Both may work Randy. But you don't want to be wearing the back brace often. Only use it while walking, as it can weaken the postural muscles. So if it helps, use it, but aim to eventually wear it less and less, as you get improvements. You can also try less distance, more frequently without the brace/sticks, stopping before you have the trouble and gradually increase distance.
