As you know he came up from basic folk, Bluegrass background and after and during the warlocks and experiments with LSD he and the band started something that will never stop. As far as his health he was on his own, he was aware all the time of his addictions and even with the band saying STOP he did not, I think he tried but I know it's hard. I haven't dosed in a while and hope to soon, can't find.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I listen to tons of jerry as well, and this is a great spin on a classic jazz tune. Although this is not one of Jerry's best songs, this is definetly not horrible, i think it shows Jerry's strength in his diversity as a musician.

I agree that this song would "tarnish his image to the non-head stubling upon it". I have never been too impressed with any studio versions of songs done by Jer or GD (excpetions, Mountains and China Cat) I think the reason i like this so much is because of the rareness of it. This song does not "move" me in any particular way, if i want to be moved by Jer's playing and voice i go to So Many Roads from 94. Forever Grateful. Peace.

Maybe not his best but it's still good and if you watched "Smoke" you would see it works as the credits roll by at the end of the film.
