Yeah, it wasn’t a big deal. Most of it broke apart and the bigger piece felt like silicone to me. Much much better results on the second oil change. Video coming soon 😁
Excellent how you show a very well detailed process to change the oil on the KPX250. It will help many who might have questions and want to see how it is done correctly for the KPX250. Valuable content I believe. Thank you. I did not forget about JerryHawk 250. He has excellent content on this as well.
Herbie, I checked my brand new not even started direct from Venom 2024 KPX 250 for dipstick in or out. Dipstick out showed no oil. Dipstick screwed all the way in showed oil halfway up. Drained the oil into a measured container and it showed EXACTLY 1100 ml which is what the manual calls for when changing the oil. I'm on my 3rd oil change. New, 100 miles 300 miles all using 1100 ml (1.1 Liter) and all show oil 3/4 the way up when the dipstick is screwed all the way in, and nothing when the dipstick is just laid on top as you have it. Therefore, the proper way to check your oil on the KPX 250 is to screw the dipstick all the way in. Get yourself a 64 oz measuring pitcher made for fluids and marked in ml and oz. Fill it to 1100 ml and you will have the exact correct amount of oil in your KPX 250.
Sometimes texting comes across brash so please don't take this the wrong way, I just want to clarify some things. If you were going to use the owner's manual for instructions on an oil change, it says pour APPROXIMATELY (not exactly, my words) 1.1L (1.3L for a new engine) Restart the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Recheck the oil level and ADD OIL IF NECESSARY, so the final check by the owners manual is with the dipstick not the 1.1L that you described. (My words now), the motorcycle has to be level and not on the side stand when checking the oil level, this is an absolute necessity. Anytime a dipstick is used it should be just inserted and not screwed down unless it states otherwise in the owners or service manual. I checked both manuals and it doesn't say so therefore it should be checked with the dipstick just resting in the bore and not screwed down. I hope this helps. P.S. I have 1050 miles on my 2024 KPX now and have changed the oil several times by the owner's manual and I have had no problems. Thanks Kevin
@@herbiesgarage681 I like you Herbie and I don't take your response as brash. But it's very hard to argue when the owners manual AND the service manual call for 1.1 liter of oil for an oil change, and if the dipstick is out, no oil on the hash marks, and when the dipstick is screwed all the way in, the oil shows 3/4 of the way up the hash marks. This is proof the dipstick needs to be screwed in to check the oil properly. Try it, I think you will agree.
@@Kevin-mm6xm It doesn’t call for 1.1 L it calls for 1.1L start it up , let it drain back down and check it with the dipstick just touching the bore, no mention of screwing it down. Please reread your owners manual for clarification.
@@herbiesgarage681 Mine was made 03/24. My manual does not state just touching the bore. Yours appears to be 1 year old so different manual? But again, the proof, not the theory, is MEASURE 1100 ml of oil, put it in, stand bike up straight, screw in dipstick all the way, and see the oil 3/4 up the hash mark. This is scientific proof the dipstick needs to be screwed in.
@ I’m sorry Kevin but mine was built the exact same time and I have the same owners manual as you. The proper way is to follow the manual as I prescribed above. Putting 1.1L of oil in and leaving it is absolutely wrong according to the manual. If it is the method that you prefer to use then by all means, it’s your motorcycle you can do as you please. But doing as you say is not what the owner’s manual says. Again it says fill to approximately 1.1L, start and idle the engine, after a few minutes check the level and add oil as necessary. In other words to add oil until it is between the low and high marks on the dipstick. No mention of screwing the dipstick down. If a manufacturer requires you to screw the dipstick down to check they will indicate this in the owners manual.

Same filter as the kpm 200 or different ? And does this 250 engine seem faster or better then the 200 on the kpm like any noticeable differences yet? Between 200 and 250
Yes, same oil filter. The 250 isn’t fully broken in yet and I haven’t rung it out like I have on the 200 😁 The 200 has higher compression and just seems to keep its power up higher in the rpm range. But again the 250 is still pretty new, I’ll find out for sure after it’s had a good break in.
