As a fan of the 90s X-Men cartoon and someone who loved Gambit as a character in it, I was really happy to see how well Channing Tatum was able to portray the character even though his part was small. The accent was a big boon since he has the actual accent needed. The last movie I saw in theaters was Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when it was new...Ghostbusters Frozen Empire got me back into the theaters after a long...LONG time, and then hearing good things about Deadpool & Wolverine as well as hearing about Gambit and Blade being in it? Well I had to go see it...actually saw it at one of the 4 operating drive in movie theaters that are in my state so I got to cross THAT off my bucket list as well. It was a good movie and even if you (like me) never saw Deadpool 1 and 2, this is a good enough stand alone by itself that it didn't need much foreknowledge of the other two to enjoy.
Seeing Tatum show up as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine was a HUGE payoff. For anyone following these films from way back, it was so satisfying to see him finally on screen as Gambit.
I must be the only person that was disappointed when I saw Channing Tatum's face in a Gambit costume on my first time watching that film. I still think it was a piss poor choice. I have always though Gambit should have his own film or at least a prominent role in one but I never once considered Tatum as a likely candidate to portray him.
@jgarci20 yeah, its a culture not a race. That's funny. But my name is literally Adam LeBleu from LeBleu Settlement, Calcasieu Parish, LA. Aside from that, you'll have to take my word for it. I currently live in Costa Rica. You'llhave to take my word for that too.

Dude he’s so damn good as Gambit I legit can’t stop smiling when I see him as Gambit. So happy he got the chance to finally play him, I hope they put him in more movies.
Geeze! I knew that he'd been trying to get a Gambit movie to happen. But I had no idea how he's almost been playing this character since X2! Really says a lot about how he feels about Gambit that he's hung in there that long! Happy he got that chance in Deadpool and Wolverine. And he was a badass! I truly hope the MCU keeps him on as Gambit for more movies.
I'm not huge fan od Chaining Tatum, he's not how I imagined life version of Gambit, but I have to give him credit. He did a good job, much better than Taylor Kitsch even if physicaly he was closer to how I think Gambit would look.

It was so good. I hope we get more. I'm sad we didn't get more earlier. But between DP&Wolvie and Xmen97, i think the world is ripe for some more good Gambit.
I could never get excited about Gambit - until Channing Tatum played him in Deadpool & Wolverine. It's just... right. I absolutely want to see more of him.
When I watched Deadpool and Wolverine in theatre and seeing Tatum enter the scene complete with Gambit's original costume, I almost screamed. Gambit is my favorite X-Men and Channing Tatum done a perfect Gambit in big screen. That's how Gambit should be played.
Man, I can’t believe such a prominent star had to work, promote, wait and wait and get disappointed over and over until *finally* getting to do a dream role.
Thats why Channing Tatum deseved the Gambit role. Had you heard an actor who waited for a superhero role for this long? Many actors would have just left. Even Ryan Reynolds didnt wait long to finally become Deadpool although he too fought to get Deadpool's character right.
I may not be a huge fan of the casting but Channing incredible passion and dedication is so heartwarming. Hope to see him return or even got a solo movie

Channing's Gambit is exactly what I imagined back when I read the comics. His Cajun is on point, the look and action...we need more of this Gambit...
no n we dont its like if john cena tryed to be daredevil, tatum is not at all the right look or vibe for the character and he certainly wasnt good
@@charliebaker1427 incorrect, the look was bang on for a real life representation of how he looked in the comic and being that he's supposed to be Cajun the accent is on point. That's not even mentioning the action...I wanna see it, just as I always imagined Gambit would be in a movie....the old movies were so disappointing in this regard ...
dude was trash in the role bc of his so-called accent; he should've worked on it more considering he's an experienced actor. I can tell you're not from Louisiana
@jgarci20 I am not from Louisiana but have lived there and have family/friend from there and I've lived next to it for decades. I've known no less than 32 Cajuns, real country Cajuns and their accents varies in intensity wildly but most were very much like Tatum's Cajun. You are not considering he grew up with Cajuns which gives a solid history to his accent. As someone who has been around cajuns nearly all my life, his accent is on point
Channing for REMY!! He puts in the work and wants to do it! his portrayal may inspire the younger generations love for the character and then eventually someone will take on the role gladly when a reboot has to occur
I really like both Channing Tatum's and Taylor Kitsch's version of Gambit I also think I might be one of the super few who really like both X-Men Origins Wolverine and G.I. Joe
I like them too, I wouldn't call them good movies by any stretch of the imagination but they sure are entertaining.
Agreed that version of gambit feels so bad ass. The shitty movie around him is what ruined his chances
This video sure is attracting dumb people lol that's for sure.
I liked GI Joe EXCEPT FOR THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS. Their acting was horrible. Best part about 2 was when Duke died in the beginning.
i like that they let Channing's Gambit kick ass in the movie. At first I thought they were going to just make fun of the character and his powers, but nope. He had some epic fight moves.
Yes and no. His Gambit was what it needed to be for a deadpool movie, but I think it still has so much more potential I REALLY hope they get to realize at some point.
I was never a gambit fan from my childhood in the 90s. But Tatum turning Gambit into a modern look took my childhood thoughts and damn he roasted it!!! What a wonderful character Gambit has become!!!
All I saw was Channing Tatum, not Gambit.
When I saw Heath Ledger I saw the Joker, not Heath.
I was a 90s kid and gambit was always my favorite character from the cartoons. He should get a movie like Deadpool.
I shot up in my seat and was fangirling uncontrollably when he came on screen!!! Yeah I'd say he nailed it
Please don't shoot up in public
Please don't shoot up in public
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
He ABSOLUTELY nailed the Cajun accent
Channing Tatum is Super Underrated and i absolutely loved his version of Gambit.
Gambit broke the Fourth Wall.
He and Wesley Snipes' Blade were a fantastic treat in D&W, I just hope we get to see more of Tatum's Gambit. He's always been my favorite mutant.
Gambit is really difficult to read in some of comics, i liked how deadpool couldn't understand him sometimes too.
I’m still a die hard fan of X-men origins wolverine gambit !!!! It was dope and subtle
He was worth the wait and worth the wait for more
I really feel like I'm the only person on earth that really liked X-Men Origins Wolverine, and I was sad that Taylor Kitsch never returned because he could've easily fit in either X-Men First Class or Days Of Future Past. I'm really hoping that in Avengers Secret Wars that both Channing Tatum and Taylor Kitsch show up as Gambit and have a little dialogue with each other.
That's fair. With a multiverse, no reason they can't make it happen.
I wanna see channing tatums Gambit movie now
100% worth the wait, and I hope that he finally gets his own movie!
He look awesome but missed one detail. Which is his eye, it should be black with purple
I said the same thing dawg, it woulda been sick, but the cgi might have made it look a bit distracting if it wasn't good. contacts shoulda been made
Eh, some things work in animation and just doesn't work in live action. I'm sure it was brought up but ultimately, I decided it looked too goofy.
It should be red not purple
If he ever got his own movie they may use some addition like that to visualize his coming of age at the end of the film.
@@jaydenbrown6290 funny enough, if you look closely they do make it purple when he charges the cards. I guess anymore and it woudnt come off nicely on camera?
I definitely popped the heck off when I saw him in the theater. Had no idea it was coming
Seeing Tatum show up as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine was a HUGE payoff. For anyone following these films from way back,
it was so satisfying to see him finally on screen as Gambit.
Channing Tatum did a masterful performance as Gambit. He deserves his time in the sun with a script to match his talent.
My name Jeff.
Remember it
😂
It's Jefe, man
My fav X-Man 🙌🏾 so happy Tatum got to see this to fruition
Cajun guy here. His accent was on point. Representation doesn't get better.
prove it
@jgarci20 yeah, its a culture not a race. That's funny. But my name is literally Adam LeBleu from LeBleu Settlement, Calcasieu Parish, LA. Aside from that, you'll have to take my word for it. I currently live in Costa Rica. You'llhave to take my word for that too.
Remy is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
0:34 "Woooh~babuhduh make a name fomuhsuh here."
Channing Tatum blessed that role. I loved everything from his accent to his costume. I vote for Channing Tatum, lol and please marvel, new gambit movies, more gambit, please❤
0:19 woah now i like this gambit
wtf
I’ll never forget when he first walk in. 😂 I was like ‘Gambit Channing Tatum?!’ I just couldn’t stop laughing and being blown away at how good he was at being Remy. I’ve always loved Tatum, his comedic timing is top notch. This was a perfect role for him. If they do a heist style movie with him as Gambit, I’d be first in line
The editor really had fun with those Hail Ceasar clips.
Dude he’s so damn good as Gambit I legit can’t stop smiling when I see him as Gambit. So happy he got the chance to finally play him, I hope they put him in more movies.
Honestly I never even knew about all this gambit casting and drama in the behind the scene stuff so seeing him as gambit was like, “why”
We NEED a whole series...
"With Style" - I've been saying that for decades, and nobody's gotten the reference. It DID make me look way-cool, though.
Thank you!!!
Channing portrayal left a lot to be desired
Same. He definitely was closer than Taylor Kistch, but it still felt more like a joke than a true Gambit most of us would like to see.
Taylor did it better
@@ninjanibba4259Nah his version of Gambit sucked
@@dylanburton4955 no, it was fun and he’s actually more powerful than the one in D&W
Do you know how loooong I been waiting for this [video]?
I have seen the movie, and with subtitles i still dont have a clue what he says at 7:20 but i laught every time
I believe, and this is rough translation, “there is only one way to get that helmet coming off and that is with that dome coming off with it” which means that Juggernaut’s helmet will only come off with his head in it. He just does it with a much colorful way!
Them breaking the wall everytime gave away alot of easter eggs. Would enjoy seeing more of me favourite character. "Ive been waiting a very long time for this"
0:18 A little bit of australian came out there.
The name is Gambier, remember it. -crashes a vehicle into Apocalypse, that is how I remember him.
2:06 but hold on a minute, Josh Holloway would’ve absolutely crushed
I laughed harder at the tittle of this video than I have at most things in a while, that's awesome lol.
He basically got that movie minus the powers in Logan Lucky. It was literally a southern style heist movie with Channing and Adam Driver and it was hilarious
Yep, fun movie.
It was so good. I hope we get more. I'm sad we didn't get more earlier. But between DP&Wolvie and Xmen97, i think the world is ripe for some more good Gambit.
John Carter is an awesome and very underhyped movie to my taste. It deserves way more recognition.
I actually didn’t know how long he had been waiting for this, but knowing it now it just makes his appearance all the better!
Absolutely looooove Channing Tatum's Gambit!!!!!
I could never get excited about Gambit - until Channing Tatum played him in Deadpool & Wolverine. It's just... right. I absolutely want to see more of him.
The Names Gambit…. Remember it
When I watched Deadpool and Wolverine in theatre and seeing Tatum enter the scene complete with Gambit's original costume, I almost screamed. Gambit is my favorite X-Men and Channing Tatum done a perfect Gambit in big screen. That's how Gambit should be played.
And that costume. Pure perfection.
Even Ryan Reynolds didnt wait long to finally become Deadpool although he too fought to get Deadpool's character right.
hot take: x men origins Gambit was underrated
For me, he was ok as a reinterpretation but not the version of character that I wanted to see.
Yeah that is a very hot take. That version of Gambit was… Not it
@@RetroCube and why? oh because he don't have a cajun accent or what?
@@RetroCube he was way more solid then tatums dumpster fire
I’m STILL waiting. Even more so now.
I want that Gambit feature film!!!
1:13 That’s “TEEVES guild.”
Remember dat ...❤
I may not be a huge fan of the casting but Channing incredible passion and dedication is so heartwarming. Hope to see him return or even got a solo movie
Anyone thinking he did a good job as Gambit... or that Gambit was even halfway interesting in Wolverine Vs. Deadpool is crazy... The "forgottens" were forgotten for a reason.
Nah you’re crazy
@@alexanderren1097 Look at the box office gross for those movies and tell me I'm crazy again.
I never liked Gambit in the comics. But seeing Tatum play him made me WANT a Gambit movie (with him as the star). He made the character come alive in a way i never thought possible.
I still don't think Tatum is the right actor for Gambit in terms of looks. But boy, do I respect and appreciate his passion and commitment to the role. I wish there were more people like him or Reynolds in the industry.
A long time coming!
I'm sorry, but I hate Tatums Gambit. He made my favorite character into a meme joke. Besides, he looks nothing like Gambit. It's a shame. We could have gotten someone like Austin Butler. He was right there.
You know how long he's been waiting for this
