I'm waiting on the 450srs this spring..
I Road raced from 1970- 1995.. was a great run..
Now I'm 75 and still love to ride sport bikes..
Started out riding 500cc Cafe racers..
Keep going fast my man! That's great! My dad is 83 and bought a new bass fishing boat last year. Age is just a number. Keep enjoying life to it's fullest!!
Rob, I had to stop racing because my reaction time was getting to bad to smoke into a turn at 140..
Retirement race was at mid ohio..

I started on a dual-sport Honda XL80S in my youth, and road sportbikes in the 1990s (the golden age of 600s in my opinion), but I've been on a long hiatus from riding. Not counting minimoto racing I did in the early 2000s, it's been almost 20 years since I ridden motorcycles. Now, I'm 50 and looking to get back on two wheels while wondering how many years I'll have to enjoy riding. Your comment made me smile and gives me hope, sir. 🙂
@@Gimpthulhu 50 is a prime time to ride. As long as you are in good shape and able to ride, don't let society tell you no. There are people in their 50's that look and act 80. They give up on doing fun things and it ages them. So if you feel up to it, go for it.
Just watched 5 of your latest videos, and man, is it a breath of fresh air. My wife recently traded her 2019 CBR300R for the CFM450SS.
I think she'll enjoy it for years to come. Even with Aprilia launching their 457, I STILL think this is a phenomenal bike for the value.

450SS is a great bike that should last a long time. I love it. Aprilia 457 will probably be expensive. Looks nice though. I still think the CFMOTO looks better.

Hey Rob, thanks for sharing that story, I'm glad you're able to ride after all that! I think I may have saw you getting gas last weekend on the creek rd. If it was you, I was across the street at McDonald's lol by my bike. Great content would love to ride someday.
Yes sir, I remember seeing you. I was in a rush to get gas and get to an appointment. Would love to ride sometime.
The dealers near me can’t keep them in stock. They sell out as soon as they hit the floor.
Same with most of the ones around me. Some dealers in PA are sitting on them, but they are asking way too much. I think that kind of pricing will hurst those dealers in the future.
Years ago in the late 80's I remember a friend of my much older brother had something similar happen but it was his leg... his only transport was a bike .. make a setup to change gear with one of his hands and strapped a crutch his his bike... but he also got a smaller bike was a Honda Super 4 Grey import or aomething.
Thanks for sharing your story. It's wonderful to see you back on a bike enjoying life!! Looking to get a 450ss as my first bike, completed the MSF course recently! No dealers super close to me, might have to drive 2 hours to get my hands on it haha. Nonetheless congrats on the recovery, and the 450ss, and hope you have fun, enjoyable, and safe riding for years to come! :)

Glad you recovered and could ride again! The thing about powerful bikes or cars is that the more power they have the less fun you have on the street. On a track fine. My point is I am looking at getting a 450SR in the UK as at least with this bike you run through gears and open the throttle and still not break the law after 2 seconds. On a litre bike or really fast car you open the throttle and 1-2 seconds later you have to stop. I have a full A licence but I dont need anything faster.

CFMoto 500SR (4 cylinder) and 674SR (3 cylinder) was teased on CFMoto day.
The only real difference between the sr and ss is the sr makes a little bit less hop at about 47 to meet euro standards and the ss makes 50hp. At least that’s what I’ve been told

Trying to get a 450 ss but most dealers in colorado are out of stock. Hopefully I can get the SR S version if it comes out next year.
Haven't heard if the SR S will becoming here next year. Probably going to be thousands more than the SS. I love the SS. If I ever upgrade it'll be a 1000, but for now, the 450SS is perfect.
Hey! I also have a 450ss, if you haven’t already, I have a tail tuck design uploaded to thingaverse. If you know someone that has a 3D printer you can have it for free. Or if you want I can print one out of ASA. ASA is like abs but has UV protective properties. Been running my design for a little over 1.5k miles now.
No charge, just trying to get the word out.
I’m working on a fairing kit for the bike too, that will be free to download too when it is done.
Oh, if you’re interested, I have a video of the tail tuck on my channel.
I already have one installed on mine and I replaced the rear signals with something more modern too.

Hey Rob, been watching your channel for a couple weeks now and loving the content. I wanted to ask what your opinion is on me getting a bike as my first viehcle, specificly a 450ss and how long you think is an average time frame for someone to get used to and comfortable daily riding. I'm also enrolling in a cmf course sometime here in setptember.
I will not take long. The safety course will be a big help too. The more you ride, the more you will enjoy it. 450SS is a good bike to start on and it will last into the future.

I use Insta360 cameras. You can see the shadow of the stick from the camera in front of me. It's mounted on my handlebars. I have a link to the camera in the description of the video.

If 90 % of riders where Honest with their skill then a Honda CBR500 or Ninja 400 or CFMOTO 450 SS/SR would be just fine.

I use an Insta360 Camera. Native is 30 FPS, so I keep it there.

How much was the ss total?
I would presume after tax, title registration and fees the outdoor cost of the bike would be somewhere around 7k or so

Your best source of info is CFMOTO's website. I am perfectly happy with my 450SS.
