  • The goal of The Wilderness Living Challenge Season 3 survival series is to GAIN or MAINTAIN body mass living only on 100% WILD FOODS! In this episode we show you how to cook crawfish from the creek right to the table, step-by-step!
BOOKMARK THE FULL PLAYLIST (2 Episodes per Week): • Season 3: The Wilderne...
Episodes will run every TUESDAY and FRIDAY 10 a.m. EST.

    t-shirts: shop.bonfire.c...

We weight-in and weigh-out and if we lose any body mass at all, we have FAILED the challenge!
    Paypal Donations: www.paypal.me/...
Unlike Naked and Afraid, ALONE, or Survivorman, there is no limit to the tools we are allowed to use. Living off just WILD foods is harder than you think!
In this episode we set funnel and pyramid traps for crawfish, crawdad, yabbies, prawns or crayfish, whatever you prefer. We use dog food and let them sit for a couple hours before checking. The crawfish are stored in a special trap with no exits. Then we rinse the crawfish with fresh water in a small kid pool to help wash them. After that we dump them into a turkey boiler on high heat, add spices, corn, potatoes and sausage. We then show you how to remove the digestive system for eating!
    We hunt FERAL hog too!
We fish for catfish, alligator gar, long nose gar and drum, crawfish, crawdads, or yabbies, ghost shrimp, bluegill, rio grande perch, armored catfish, flathead catfish, blue catfish, alligator, freshwater clams, leopard Frog.
All wild foods are on the menu!
We seek out wild edibles including prickly pear cactus pads or nopal, cactus fruit or tuna, wild onions, mulberries, wild grape, Texas persimmons, pecan and anacua, mulberry, tasajillo, turks cap, yucca pods, cats briar, oion, chili pequin, duck weed, ground cherries, desert hackberry.

Nice vid... here in the UK we have our own Crayfish that are being wiped out by the introduction of an invasive American / Red Signal Crayfish which is bigger than our native species... if we catch the Red Signal Crayfish, no matter the size, its illegal to put them back in our waterways... some restaurants serve Crayfish and it is delicious, been thinking of getting some traps and fishing for some myself.

Bug,What's wrong with the word, they're? It's a perfectly acceptable contraction of the words, they and are =they're=they are. It has nothing to do with the words, there, or their. Their is possessive and there can indicate direction and "There are several kinds of crawfish." Quick was saying of the crawfish, "I think they are pretty good if you cook them right." They're pretty good.I live in Louisiana and I think they're delicious when cooked correctly. YUM!

The yellow stuff inside of the crawfish is called the fat and it lends a lot of flavor to the crawfish. I love it in crawfish etouffee' and crawfish cornbread.

Just a heads up for a survival take away meal, If they are anything like our Australian Yabby, you can also keep them alive by just throwing some wet grass on top of them in a bucket. If you store them in a bucket of water they will die in no time.
It might not be useful info in Texas, but you never know when you'll be in Australia :)
The Australian Yabby can walk for miles over land when they need to to get to a new water source, and have no problem being out of water for ages. (a day or so, not a month)
I'm really enjoying your new approach, keep doing it!

Another good way to catch craw fish is getting a stick with string and tying a chicken drum to the end then u throw it in and youll catch about 2-3 per throw and u just get a net and buckets and you’ll catch a ton. I live in nm and im vietnamese and we do that in little dams and we catch 3-4 buckets full of em its really fun

I see two items missing from your boil. Celery stalks with lots of leaves. And a couple lemons halved. The celery adds a mild flavor. The lemons brighten all the other flavors. A Zataran's crab boil bag is an option too.
