I love the respect he shows for African American influence, and how just generally GOOD he is as a person. And I've never wanted crawfish more in my entire life.
Have to love the southern soul food, it's the perfect example of the American melting pot culture way. So many influences from so many cultures to make something as great if not greater then the sums of its parts.
Really did love the way Spuddy gave credit to the history of my people (African-Americans). Some of my family is from Louisiana. The food culture they have passed to us is incredible! Cool guy, cool accent, cool food! Would love to visit his restaurant some time!

@myuniqueunicorn that's because there were a lot of enslaved races, not just black. I was born and raised in Louisiana and it's definitely not what you're saying it is.

That's Louisiana for you, I moved from California to the boot because the people are pretty much all like this. Come down for an LSU tailgate and everyone will welcome you with food and booze
Love how he acknowledges that the people who did come from African, as their history was tragic, it also created a deep and rich culture in the southern parts of the United States. The food, the music, literally everything about the south was without a doubt inspired by many cultures!!!
The food from Africa is amazing. The spices and ability to make something taste so good from basic ingredients. My cooking skills are basic so I appreciate people who have that talent.
@@ShadaeMastersAstrology because they were enslaved people who came from all kinds of different areas. He could have listed every African nation they came from but that is not necessary…. He wasn’t being disrespectful by any means. It is a literal fact that slave people created many of he most well known southern recipes like red beans and rice, gumbo, jambalaya. It’s not meant to be demeaning. Most of the meals that they made were hodgepodge meals with a little bit of everything they had to spare. The food has African and other inspirations but it’s not African it’s unique and it’s Cajun. The food is unique to southern culture because it was created in that culture. And yes alot of it came from slaves. It’s not an insult it’s a fact. A lot of Cajun food inspiration also came from the French, known for their amazing sauces! And you could even say that boils, seafood boils, and stew boils have a very Irish inspiration. The Irish were also one of many peoples enslaved.

@@Anom990 it’s a sustainable food resource. Rice farmers utilize the leftover rice stubble to make crawfish. One female crawfish has hundreds of eggs. It’s good as long as you are farming rice you will have something extra to make a bit more money on. I realize you see hundreds of mini lobsters being boiled alive but there are billions of crawfish in LA that reproduce fast. It gives farmers extra income and provides local poor populace with food. You can literally buy crawfish here with food stamps. People here do not eat them every day, it’s more of a few times a months special meal.

@@kev4850 Interesting! I purposely built my bedroom to be about 1m wide X 2m tall X 2.5m long. I added adequate ventilation and a tiny window, along with 2 doors so I can go inside or escape outside in case of an emergency. It's extra insulated to keep the heat out so I don't need to run the air conditioning as much, and never really gets cold enough to need heat. I keep some storage under the bed which is on hinges, and a power strip and some shelves mounted on the walls above the bed. It is kind of nice because it is sort of a cocoon and I have a minimum of stuff in there. It is extra motivation to get out of bed if I need anything else. I like the idea of having a tiny living space and lots of space outdoors for trees and gardens and work sheds. I'm a big fan of tiny houses and hope to build one on my property in the woods one day. For now I pretend to live tiny in the city. Nice vid, thanks!

I miss it to it's hard af to find good seafood in Dallas
Thanks for posting this :)
Everyone needs a man like this in their life so bring the sunshine
Really did love the way Spuddy gave credit to the history of my people (African-Americans). Some of my family is from Louisiana. The food culture they have passed to us is incredible! Cool guy, cool accent, cool food! Would love to visit his restaurant some time!
what people
The American people are your people.

In Slaved people, it was dismissive to an entire race - but that's normal of country whites in the deep south

I know! I was so happy when he was giving the credit where its due.
The food from Africa is amazing. The spices and ability to make something taste so good from basic ingredients. My cooking skills are basic so I appreciate people who have that talent.
He had the audacity to say the enslaved people vs mentioning where they came from like every other mention 🙄
@@ShadaeMastersAstrology Stop being so sensitive. He didn't mean any disrespect by saying that.

He is just the right amount of outgoing AND humble. And the RESPECT this man has for other cultures and never turning down their offerings is so beyond our human race progression I cant stand it
Do you thinking boiling thousands of animals alive is a sign of human progress? This is sickening evil.
@@Anom990 people need to survive, if you dont believe in it then dont but dont say its sickening and evil
