I do like Lee a lot overall, when T7 was announced on the PC I wanted to main him but the b2 cancels ended up being harder than double electric combos. I'm going to get around to playing him soon tho, since I sit more in training more than in actual matches.
insane in depth guide for beginners, intermediates and good players. must have took you really long to do and every minute is worth it. Amazing work! greets from Germany :)
Really nice guide, must say you got the best character guides and move guides out there, amazing how much time and detail you put to this, got yourself a new subscriber, keep up the good work!
YASSSSSS I've been looking for this. I can wavedash perfectly, move somewhat better, and do some random mixups, but I still find myself fundamentally struggling from time to time. Thank you TMM!
Thanks, MainMan. Thanks to this guide I was able to learn Kazuya and with practice in both training mode and losing a lot in rank matches I was able to take my Kazuya into a Mentor rank. It might not be a big of a deal but it is to me. And I still kick butt even without having the Electric down. I lost a lot of opportunities of having the upper hand because of not being able to pull off that move on comand but still I was able to take my Kazuya all the way to Mentor with his basics and fundamentals taught in your video... Thank you very much.
Excellent guide. I learned quite a bit from this guide, it's much appreciated A couple of suggestions to make things easier for you in the future: You can set the dummy's first action to "Guard All", then the second action to "sidestep left / right or sidewalk left / right" if you want to show how linear a move is. The dummy will sidestep/walk as soon as it blocks something, like a jab, so you don't have to manually record it sidestepping. You also don't have to record the dummy doing a move, then holding back to demonstrate how punishable a move is. You can go to the move list and pick the move and the dummy will execute it. Although it won't block afterwards, the "punish" pop-up will tell you whether your punishment was guaranteed or not. This'll save you time since the dummy won't walk away from you.
Im very happy that you've made this guide, I don't use Kazuya but I learned a lot about how I can improve as a player by the method of how you explained Kazuya. I plan on making guides for my character in the future and I would just like to say thank you for the motivation an inspiration you've given me! =]
I just picked up Tekken 7. The last Tekken game I played was the first Tag. I will admit that my skills are insanely rusty. I tried a few characters before landing on Kazuya and I love him. Thank you for this guide TMN! Literally took this hour at my job to learn more about Kazuya! I Still have trouble running up to people and connecting the DF1-Forward2 after the corkscrew to wall carry them, I’ll be practicing that more than the PerfectEwgf haha!
Great video TMM. I found one part very useful where you show frame advantage after ff 4 and db 4 to get the trade counter hit. Maybe another smaller and more advanced video diving deep into Kazuya's specific wake-up setups and/or when to side steps?
Love your work man. Learned EWGF in T6 from you're old EWGF tutorial. Great work and I share you passion for Kazuya. Dropped you a sub and many views bud. Keep it up!!
I started doing Ranked again. Yeah, using Kazuya is a serious uphill battle. But he's the only character that FORCES me to try to side/duck, punish etc. Dragunov? Not really since I can play more offensive but yeah Kazuya is a fundamentals character. You really have to iron out any bad habits you have.
Thanks for making a full guide, I am still pretty sucky at fighting games and needless to say I am not very good at Tekken, Tekken 7 is my first Tekken game and I made the smart decision to main Kazuya, it was later that I found out he was like uber hard to learn but I don't care, I want to get good with him, this isn't even the first time I picked my first character in a game and finding out they are actually really hard. I intend to stick with it and get good with him even if it takes a long time.
He's the last character that came up to my mind to main. My mains are Jin, Hwo, Devil Jin, King, Baek (rip), Paul, and finally Kazuya. I can, most of the time, beat Ultra Hard opponents using my mains, excluding Baek but mostly Kazuya. Even though CPU aren't strength test, but I'm pointing at the differences between my mains. NiTro451 (Eduard0) sidestep and ewgf.
I use the ewgf mostly as a zoning tool against people that really like to get in. Though it has bad recovery ewgf always means great danger for the opponent so by the time they decide to attack I throw another move/ewgf or I sidestep/backdash. If they do nothing you get a free offense.
For defensive players, you should get in their faces. ewgf has a really good hitbox and goes further than some people may think (reaches even though the uppercut seemingly didn't connect for example). You only have to put to work that ewgf training and not fuck up in front of them, because you'll look dumb and/or be punished.

Punisher* I mean.
Nice guide!
Also a quick question. When Kazuya's at mid-range and I pre-emptively sidestep left to try and evade the 50-50, the wavedash realigns him with me and I still have to deal with the 50-50. Would sidewalking left be efficient?
Thanks for guide!
