A key word of advice to any aspiring supervillains out there. If Spider-Man ever shows up to fight you and he’s not making any jokes, _RUN FOR YOUR F!CKING LIFE._
There was a joke comic strip about this actually! 😂 When he showed to stop a bit of his villains, his new ones were like "what's wrong? No quips? And the biblical dogma at least is that he wants children who take after him and want the things he wants because they are good things, not slaves. Also in principle it is impossible to conceive of good without conceiving of its opposite. Not proselytizing here, mind you, just making observations.
“I’m not here to kill you. *_I_* am.” The fact that he says that and takes off his mask and shirt shows how serious Peter Parker is, and if you EVER touch Aunt May or MJ, may god have mercy on your soul because Peter won’t.
The guy can lift a building, a plane, and a cruise ship. People underestimate him because he prefers jumping around and being tactical, but he’s definitely no pushover.
There's something extremely powerful about the line "I'm not here to kill you. I am." Not just fearing the wrath of a gentle giant. Some of these characters become indistinguishable from their hero life, sometimes completely abandoning their civilian life. Not Peter Parker, there's always a distinction between him and Spider-Man. For that reason, taking off his mask becomes much more personal. We're always reminded he's just a guy from New York, struggling through daily life, trying to earn money, cracking jokes, being a hero, maintaining relationships. He's one of the most human heroes and that's one reason I think he's one of the most beloved. Sure, others can take up the mantle, but Peter Parker, he's the original everyone knows.
Yessss. Spider Man is Peter acting as his own ideal, it's him at his best self making the most benevolent decisions because he knows Spider-Man represents more than just Peter as the individual. But he takes off the mask, because this fight has nothing to do with spider man. You shot the elderly aunt of one of the area's strongest and most resilient known mutants, this is just Peter beating the shit out of a guy, no code, no quips, no appeal to morality or empathy or hope for the future. You shot Peter's Mom. The only reason you shouldn't be dead is because it would disappoint her.

Nowadays I love how Spider-Mans reputation of being a wise cracking jokester has gotten to the point where villains immediately know something is wrong when he stops talking and even become terrified because of that alone as shown when a group of villains fought him while he was sick and lost his voice or something like that where it was difficult for him to talk and they were just absolutely concerned for themselves
@@JoeFanik Yes. one where it's not for a joke like the one I mentioned. in the joke comic I was talking about Spiderman was quiet because he had laryngitis. it was a joke. can't remember the name of this one for some reason, it takes place shortly after the first (and only real) superhero civil war where Spiderman revealed his identity to the world, but when he defected tony stark (like the piece of shit he is) didn't protect the people who would be effected by super heroes revealing their identities.
There was once a Herald of Galactus named Firelord. He came to destroy Earth and Spiderman couldn't find anyone to help stop him. All of the Avengers were busy offworld and the other superhero groups were much the same as were the X-men. He ran from Firelord for almost the entire comic, but finally he was cornered and it was there that Firelord learned his mistake. Well, judging from the expressions of the crowd of goons, even they are shocked by the beating Peter is handing out to Fisk with just an open handed slap. I don't think Petey needs to worry about anything 'in the joint'.

I love the Fact Fiend episode on the Scorpion about his jaw punched off by Superior Spiderman where they explained Doc Ock only then realized that Peter always held back his full strength in their fights because Parker could literally killed any of the villains if he just tried.
Spidey’s always been on par with the Avengers, if not surpassing them. He’s smart enough to beat Juggernaut and strong enough to stop an out-of-control train. He might not have invulnerability like Superman or regeneration like Wolverine but he takes those hits so he doesn’t have to kill the criminals he’s apprehending.
@@garlicamvs6235 that's a good point. The fact that he is as strong as he is does give him what would seem like invulnerability to us due to the density of his muscles. A good comparison is our strength in comparison to an animal. Chimps for instance are several times stronger than humans and when they attack us they tank our blows and even knife stabs to a degree. Spiderman is several times stronger than a chimp so his muscle density would give him some serious durability. Also, I believe he heals broken bones after getting a few nights sleep. May not be Wolverine level, but I would gladly take that with his power set over Wolverines.

All that money, a genius intellect, and access to pharmaceuticals? Tasteless, odorless, fast acting, and completely untraceable poisons that break down faster than they can be analyzed, and make it look like natural causes. If you know he's after you, it's just a matter of when he decides it's your time to go. And that depends on how much he wants you to suffer. Do you have a week, or a month, or did your glass of water have something in it that leaves you with all of three minutes of agonizing pain to live through? Spiderman can be stopped by other heroes, especially by someone like Professor X (a literal thought telling Peter to fall asleep, and down he goes). All Batman has to do is not let the others know he's gone lethal and throw them off the scent, something he's very capable of doing. And he knows, and has, what the others are weak to, so he might be stopped, but how many of the others would fall just to capture him? This is the same man that at 15-16 years old had the weight of a building and growing water pressure slowly crushing him, the same man that by the love he felt for the people in his life lifted this weight to not make them feel the same pain he felt. The same man that battle soul-sucking vampires and literal gods... and still, he never dared to use the full extent of his strength. Spiderman, Peter Parker, is the only Marvel hero that truly has a legacy of heroes that follow his path, from the same world to uncountable other dimensions, the Way of the Spider is a path in life that few dare walk and even few can truly embody. Fisk had no idea what a monster he unleashed on himself, it is true that Peter's banter has been from fear but not just for his life, but the life of those that he fought against... this day Fisk and those convicts saw why Spiderman SHOULDNT kill... because it would be too damn easy.
It's not that he NEVER used his full strength; that would be ridiculous. He's learned to gauge his opponent's strength and strike back appropriately. With the Inheritors, he went all-out and it wasn't enough. There was also at least one time where he instantly knocked-out some villain because he gauged wrong by the villain's appearance, but the guy turned out not to have any powers.
Well Spiderman doesn’t kill for another reason aswell: He doesn’t need to be a killer in order to stop criminals. He doesn’t need to become like that. We can see why, if we really thought that through. Because if Pete( the og Pete) doesn’t hold back, he would become the same evil he fights against, it would simply be on the other side. That’s fundamentally the reason spiderman doesn’t kill

This was definitely Kingpin's "fuck around and find out" moment. I don't think we ever saw this level of brutality out of Peter before this or since. His whole mantra had been this kind of "Look you do bad things and you pay the consequences. I just want you to understand what you did was wrong and to do better when you return". At least for the lower level criminals.
I remember when Doc Ock took over Peter's body. In his first ever fight with Scorpion, he punched Scorpion's jaw off with tremendous ease. It was at that moment that Otto had a revelation. Peter had been holding back each and every time. He realized Peter had shown everyone mercy when they didn't deserve it. Otto had gained an immense amount of respect for Peter in that moment.
Doctor octopus actually knew Spidey held back once he swapped bodies and realises how Spidey could had killed him one hit itself if he wanted to. But it was when he punched scorpion and unintentionally ripped off the jaw with one punch, he really realised the actual power. In a world of superheroes, civilians/mortals really are nothing without help. Such as Batman needs technology and wealth to really be a threat.
IAW marvel super heroes TTPRG game, SPIDEY can almost lift a minivan over his head. He's stronger than Cap A for sure.(cap can only lift a heavy motorcycle, in comparison) He's a medium strength, super. Cap's leadership, experience, heart/ never give up attitude, are his real strengths. IMO
@@nathanielcontreras4408 He also is one of the foremost geniuses on the planet, and has an arguably super-human will. He's not REALLY super human, but he's definitely in a league above Kingpin in terms of peak human stats.
@@Cyberfender1, Spidey can lift a minivan over his head. In the Marvel Universe he is in the 10 ton power class. People don't realize that Spidey if he wanted to could take out a lot of the villains if he wasn't afraid of seriously hurting someone. Even Wolverine acknowledges how powerful Spidey really is.
Kingpin is hardly an average man either. He can resist Purple Man's ability, he can battle the superhuman. He might lose but he certainly gives as as much as he can take. Spiderman mocks his weight but Kingpin is a ton son of a bitch without having superpowers. I do not really like this version of Kingpin who shoots old ladies or would be around rapists but I admit the entire scene was badass.

Finally someone who uses their summoning ability from his hand to kill in an oddly simple way. Like firebenders who could easily put their hand to someone’s chest and literally melt their heart
I see what you mean buy don't think it's always that simple like if you see the fights in avatar most benders have a small delay to physically move and motion the elements to bend even firebenders, so unless there fighting an amateur nobody gonna likely give them the chance to put there hand on there chest to burn them unless the attacker is a master or the avatar themselves.
@@iancruz6617 I like how airbenders could possibly do the same as blood benders since there’s actual air inside the human body, once that’s taken away. They’ll just suffocate
@@MmELrD There is an "aura" of some kind around the person itself, their chi or whatever you wish to call it. When you take air inside you, it becomes you. The reason why blood bending is so outlawed, apart from the obvious "holy fuck that's fucked up" aspects, you are violating the person THEMSELVES. Both physically and spiritually. You'd have to be a master air bender to purposely suck out the air from a person's lungs, or the oxygen somehow from a person's bloodstream. You'd most likely just want to do is create a vacuum, where you'd need more than one breath. They showed this in the actual goddamn show (for kids :D) when a deceased master air bender was surrounded by dead fire benders, he made a vacuum since you can't make fire without air. Killed himself with everyone else, you see his skellybones and Aang is devastated.

Three things we are reminded of when we see him elaborating exactly how he will murder Kingpin: 1. Peter was holding back as Spider-Man. Big time. Even during the brutality. He could kill all of them if he wanted, and every inmate knew it, realized it, right then and there. 2. Peter is a genius. He doesn't just kill you. He knows how to make your death as painful as possible. 3. Peter doesn't tell lies. Ever.
I'm a bit suprised though given what I read about Wilson Fisk's strength and fighting abilties he is as strong as a non super enhanced human can be and his obese appearence is actually muscle. He has held his own in previous physical confrontations with Peter Parker. This particular confrontation was different as Fisk found out that he was dealing with a Peter Parker who wasn't holding back.

Fear the wrath of a patient man. When patience runs out, nothing can stop him. - John Dryden (1631-1700) Whoever screams in anger is harmless. Fear the one who is silent in anger. The one screaming in anger is ridiculous, but the silent one in anger is terrible. - Abai Kunanbaev (1845 - 1904 )
You know what's the most terrifying about this comic? The fact that Spider-Man said "I'm going to kill you but I'm not going to kill you today" and because of that kingpin is going to be living in constant terror until Spider-Man tries to kill him
I feel like people forget how strong Spider-Man actually is when he isn't holding back. And I think he's still actually holding back here. I think he could have easily killed Fisk in one shot if he really wanted to.
In the "Superior Spider-Man" storyline, where Doc Ock had transferred his mind into Spider-Man's body, he *accidentally* punched Scorpion's lower jaw *off* his face. Without meaning to do it. Otto then realized that Parker could have killed any of his foes, Otto included, any time they'd fought.
To add to the reply above, Marvel Wiki says the Scorpion's durability is 5/7. Also read somewhere that when Spidey get's punched, he's actively relaxing his muscles in that area, because when he tenses his muscles they're strong enough to break the bones of whoever hit them.
Beware the fury of a patient man, indeed. This is why you don't piss off Spider-Man so that he gets to this point. Then, you're dealing with a superspeed martial artist brick with an insane amount of dexterity and oh yes COMBAT PRECOGNITION. You could tell that this fight wasn't even a CONTEST.
Gentle giants, angels, heroes. Something about when they unleash their rage and discard all mercy is so compelling. They become something that makes even Hell's demons tremble.
It’s the conversion. If something is always evil, it doesn’t make an impact if it becomes more evil and vice versa. But when someone truly kind suddenly becomes pure evil, it has a powerful impact on anyone who witnesses it. I’m not sure of the science(or lack there of), but when something converts into something completely different, it tends to become great, meaning that when a good person becomes wrathful, they become even more enraged than someone who is normally angry.
@@MrShisuto It's like when you piss off a sith lord, you fear for your life When you piss off a jedi master, you fear for your soul. You managed to overtax their near limitless capacity for good, and now their only option left is to release all the malice and hatred they have fought back for their entire life, and now you will pay the consequence for it.
There's a reason why the saying "A wise man fears three things. A storm at sea, a moonless night, and the anger of a gentle man." is 100% true. If you've managed to break down all of their restraint and get them actually angry with you, it's over. They're done fucking around and are actually trying to fucking kill you.
There's a reason why the saying "Demons run when a good man goes to war" was made, and why it feels so accurate. This comic is a damn good example of this.
Kingpin was so confused because he's used to being able to hit Spider-Man. He's used to connecting, and grabbing, and even hurting Spider-Man. Against Peter Parker, he can't do a damn thing.
When Peter shuts up? Run. Just run. Superman can flash his scary red eyes all day and it's still not half as terrifying as a dead silent Spiderman putting his full attention toward beating arachnophobia into someone.
I'm reminded of the time he lost his voice due to a cold for a while, and the local criminal underworld was collectively shitting itself for pretty much this reason XD
and, as discussed in another comment: Spider-Man once lost his voice due to being sick, and couldn’t speak while heroing, which scared the villain so much they gave up because they thought they might die.
that last line is fantastic. It's the perfect set up. Peter proves to Fisk he can and will kill him anytime he wants, only to pull back and let him know that he dies when he says he dies. Fisk will have to spend the rest of his life wondering if today's the day, living in constant fear, and knowing he lacks the power to do anything about it. It's the best revenge he could ever get on him.
Honestly they left out the best part of the speech where tells Fisk he is leaving him alive because everyone here just saw him get beat so they won’t be afraid of him anymore and thats a better punishment than a quick death.
"I said I was going to kill you, and I am. But I didn't say I was going to do it today." That's one thing I love about Peter: he's a master of psychological warfare. Sure, he can turn Fisk into a stain on the floor with little effort, but the mind games are what really bring down the pain.
As my Daddy used to say, before he left this cold, cruel world: "The most dangerous men in the world are those with everything to lose, and those with nothing to lose. And the latter is worse than the former, but never, ever make the mistake of turning the former into the latter."
Peter fights to neutralize like most, incapacitate without too much damage, hence why he takes beatings. If he zoned in, he's coming at you like Hulk. He was way pasted zoned in.
Faster than Hulk, really. What Peter lacks in a strength comparison with the Hulk he makes up for with two points. 1) Faster than human speed and reflexes, and 2) enhanced nerve conduction velocity means he perceives combat in bullet time, which means every single shot he throws is calculated to do exactly the amount of damage and pain he wants it to do.
He described exactly what would happen and exactly how long it would take to kill Kingpin. That means he's thought about this. Not just in passing, not just a fleeting "wow, I could probably kill someone if I did this" -- no, this is something he's dedicated time and effort into. He's done the research and ran the numbers to determine exactly how it would work. At some point in the past, Peter decided that filling someone's lungs with webbing is how he would ever kill someone if he had to. And now, that's what he's going to do.
In this fight Peter was still holding back considerably. When Doc Ock took over Spider-Man's body he was able to punch off Scorpion's jaw clean off with barely any real effort because he hadn't known his true strength and power. Scorpion has enhanced physiology and superhuman durability, Kingpin may be a very physically capable person but his strength and resilience is still at human levels, which Spider-Man is far beyond he just doesn't show it because of his morals. And the moral that these prisoners learned was that they should all be grateful that despite being criminals that Spider-Man decides to believe in the good in humanity and in redemption.
There's also the fact that he was being polite when he dodged Fisk's retaliation. In reality, he could've stood still, and been completely unmoved as Fisk broke his own hands against his flesh. I mean, we're talking about a guy who routinely gets blown up, fights other superhumans, and has even had a skyscraper dropped on him.
I often forget that Peter is a lot like clark The only reason why they lose is because they're moral, they're always Holding back and with both characters, when they lose that moral compass they become absolute terrors to face
Not my quote, just something I reed somewhere, If you take the morals of a bad man you create a villain, if you take the morals of a good man you create a monster.
I recall an anecdote that Spiderman's rogues gallery actually likes it when he's popping off puns and jokes, because it means he's in a good mood. You don't want to fight him when he's quiet and not saying a thing, because it means he's pissed off, and then you're REALLY in trouble.
There's a comic where a group of villains is confronted by Spider-Man and he doesn't say a word... and then they start freaking out and surrender to the cops. One of the cops comes up to Spidey and asks why he hasn't said anything. (In a whisper) "Laryngitis."
I think Spider Man and Flash are two of the few hero's who have a certain level of "understanding" with their rouges. Unspoken rules of engagement and behavior between them because with only a few exceptions the hero is far more powerful and dangerous than his rouges.
@@ryanmaroney1268 yes Peter has every right to absolutly demolish Fisk and should, but if he crosses the line of killing him he can't ever take it back.
You know, there is a reason why I love Peter Parker, Spiderman as a character because he always pulls his punches, no matter who he fights. His restraint to not unleash this kind of horrifying destructive strength is his biggest super power.
What makes this scene more amazing is that all through the years we've seen spiderman get put into some pretty bad situations by his villains. Some even outright beat the shit out of him on more than ine occasion. In those situations he coukd easily turn those tides around by saying "allright no more bullshit" byt he doesnt. It really shows how responsible he is because he'd rather take a beating than kill you
That's not a virtue. How many graveyards have been filled because heroes like Spidey prioritize their egos over getting the job done? Eventually, there's a point where Spider-Man is as culpable for all the deaths his villains cause due to his refusal to deal with them with finality. When your enemies continually get free to slay more and more, and you respond by just slapping them around a bit and putting them back in a cell, only for the cycle to repeat, you're not a hero anymore. How many hundreds, thousands even, are dead because Spider-Man won't kill the villains? People foolishly think his restraint makes him a good guy, when in reality it makes him weak and selfish. Punisher is and always has been Marvel's greatest, truest hero. He ends the threat once and for all. He understands that the mercy of the other "heroes" is a half-measure in service to their own egos. He's the selfless one who will do what the others are too cowardly and narcissistic to do.

The more unsettling part, at least for me, is the environment of this massacre: a group consisting of hardened scumbags (“thugs, rapists, murderers”), most of whom Spider-Man possibly played a role in sending to prison, look in absolute horror of what PETER PARKER is capable of. And the video cut out the best part after this moment. After savagely beating Fisk, even threatening to come back and finish the job if May doesn’t pull through, Peter mentions he’s sparing Fisk so he’s aware that everyone who saw what happened will tell others about this humiliation. “And their friends will tell their friends, and so on…” If there’s anything Kingpin hates most, it’s embarrassment. Like Peter put it: Kingpin is “a fat man with an attitude”.
Kingpin found out too late that Aunt May is the one big red button in Spider-Man's soul you absolutely NEVER push. If May had actually been killed, Kingpin's destruction would've been the stuff of legend. (Bear in mind I'm using the term _destruction_ here, not "death." Peter wouldn't have simply killed Kingpin. That implies he would've left a body behind for them to bury.)
Peter also backhanded Wolverine through a window at Stark tower. A window meant to stop F-16 level missiles and he sent Wolverine through it like he was fired out of a cannon. It's not just that he has immense strength, his rate of acceleration, reaction time, and durability allows him to swat away enemies and things that are massive or moving at superhuman levels of speed. He was just playing with Fisk, like someone hitting a pillow.
These guys... They never really understood how powerful Peter really was, or IS,now that he's a Fully grown adult. They don't seem to get it,that he's been Spider-Man since he was 15 years old. They don't get that even though his frame is small..he's can lift more weights than anyone around except the absolute strongest of heros. They don't understand what he has to do to keep from killing someone with one of his blows. He checks his attacks..to make sure he doesn't accidentally kill someone,or permanently cripple them. He's a scientist, running the numbers game to see just how much force should be supplied to put one of those jerseys down for the count. All this, and he has to deal with so much disrespect from his peers, the folks he protects, law enforcement and whomever else decides to give him grief. Parker has a ridiculous sense of responsibility that boarders on the manic...but beneath all of that guilt is a wonderful human being who actually gives a damn about PEOPLE . So...when I get the unique opportunity to watch such a person CUT LOOSE..I enjoy ever second of it. It NEVER lasts long,of course. That crippling sense of "do right" Always cuts short the acts of well deserved vengeance. It's all good in the end. Pete gets to let out that aggression that even set won't help. Thanks for the video.
To any villains who think that attacking a hero’s loved one is a good idea, you’re targeting the very thing they stand for, if your goal is to destroy their image, bravo. Unless you aim to destroying the hero, in which case, bringing misery to the people they love and care will make stronger than ever.
This kinda reminds me of a small joke comic I saw that was some minor superman villain reporting to lex luthar and was like: "Clark Kent Is superman!" and lex was like: "I know, everybody knows! it's not that hard to see, the man just puts on a pair of glasses!" "Well we can attack him when he's at home!" "You think he's any less bulletproof sitting at home in his PJs? The man can survive nukes! you think that a sniper bullet is going to do anything to him?" "Well, we can take his loved ones, and we can kill them or something" "You really want a pissed off superman who can find, travel to you, and rip you in half in less than a second? *REALLY?*"
This entire comic is a masterpiece. I read this back in like 2009 or 2010 at my neighborhood library. And it wasn't just kingpin he did like this he was like this to every foe he faced within this issue. It truly showed that when Peter no longer cared, how much he truly abstained given all the strife he has to deal with constantly being spiderman and Peter Parker. That above all else that no one cross that line with him regarding aunt may or MJ. And well... this was the result.
I like the superior spider-man version. doc octopus in his body just punches scorpion and removes his jaw with the punch. then he goes "oh wow, he really holds back huh?!?"
Spiderman Back in Black is one of my favorites, so brutal and it's nice when a good writer shows Peter as more punch than punchline, dude deserves to be one of the best superheros period!!!
Honestly, that line doesn't apply to Spider-Man more than it does to Batman. Spider-Man doesn't have a "No-Killing Rule" beyond hating killing because it goes against his principles. Batman has the rule because he knows that he is so weak that he won't be able to stop himself from killing everyone.
This isn't a fight.
That implies Kingpin even stood a chance.

Spiderman can be stopped by other heroes, especially by someone like Professor X (a literal thought telling Peter to fall asleep, and down he goes).
Still crazy to think even with how pissed Peter is he’s still able to hold back

I’m not sure of the science(or lack there of), but when something converts into something completely different, it tends to become great, meaning that when a good person becomes wrathful, they become even more enraged than someone who is normally angry.

that last line is fantastic.

Exactly, peter always fought that way since the beginning.
Peter showing kingpin why he should stay a daredevil villain 😂
He described exactly what would happen and exactly how long it would take to kill Kingpin.
That means he's thought about this. Not just in passing, not just a fleeting "wow, I could probably kill someone if I did this" -- no, this is something he's dedicated time and effort into. He's done the research and ran the numbers to determine exactly how it would work.
At some point in the past, Peter decided that filling someone's lungs with webbing is how he would ever kill someone if he had to.
And now, that's what he's going to do.
Aren't they water solvable? So by the time an autopsy is done there's little or no trace it was SM. Just acute asphyxiation

“And their friends will tell their friends, and so on…”
If there’s anything Kingpin hates most, it’s embarrassment.
Nonsense. Push the "Aunt May" button. That way, when Peter Parker (not Spider-Man) beats your ass to the point that you want to die, you'll know why.
Peter also backhanded Wolverine through a window at Stark tower. A window meant to stop F-16 level missiles and he sent Wolverine through it like he was fired out of a cannon.
God, dude. You worded all of that perfectly. Accurately sums up how I feel about moments like this.
Everything you said is the absolute truth, Spider-Man is and will always be that guy ✌.
i mean to further back up what your saying, hes able to throw down with hulk and survive. that enough should be a measure of his capabilities.
Well written Scooter. Props.
*REALLY?*"
Here's the hero that's giving you trouble, now here's the same thing but *extremely* angry
@Riley Rhaburn deadpool used to be a villian
This shows that even without the symbiote, he can be a anti-hero
Spiderman: "im not gonna kill you"
*Peter: "I am"*
*me: takes a step back*
God: "Sucks to be you."
can you imagine the lesson that was burned into the criminals brains after this spectacle?
The lesson, AND the Face.
Nothing. Mephisto erased their memories lol

All the more reason I hate One More Day.
That is fear The Batman could only hope for.
@@johnnygyro2295 I stopped reading Spider-Man after that disaster of a story.
Whats the name Ill love to check it out
What comic is this
I like the superior spider-man version.
doc octopus in his body just punches scorpion and removes his jaw with the punch.
then he goes "oh wow, he really holds back huh?!?"
@@christopher1982861 back in black occurs during the civil war and after Peter accepts "The other" is the last arch before the reboot
Spiderman Back in Black is one of my favorites, so brutal and it's nice when a good writer shows Peter as more punch than punchline, dude deserves to be one of the best superheros period!!!
“But I didn’t say I was going to do it today.” That was a badass line. Fisk spends the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.
"Good men don't need rules...Now's the time not to find out why I have so many..."
The 11th Dr Who was fantastic during that war. That's a great line.
