It was really cool of Dragon Shield to put an animated image of Connor on the other half of the playmat. They even put it upside down for your opponent's benefit.
Her: “Why do so many video games appeal to the male fantasy?” Me: “Have you heard of the austin powers TCG with built in 1990s homophobia and somehow actually fun gameplay?”
You actually can't soft lock yourself but the rules as written are slightly confusing. You even up EVERY turn, even your opponent's turn. So if you frickin bone on your opponent's turn you draw up to 6 at the end of their turn. If they bounce a card leaving you with 7 cards you actually discard down to 6 during their evening up. On your turn before you even up you may discard any number of cards; but only on your turn. This means if you have a hand full of bones you can discard down to 0 and draw 6. The reason this rule is hard to spot is because it isn't where it would logically be - it's at the end of the "evening up" section despite technically happening before evening up on your town. I think the most interesting rule that you didn't mention because it doesn't really apply to this video; there are dots in the bottom right of cards, you must include 5 of each color when building a deck; this makes it so you can't build decks that are incapable of interacting with each other. The game's rules are so bad that without hard rules about how many of what have to be in a deck the game would actually be unplayable. In fact, even with the 5x6 rule you still have to play opposite faction decks because assassins can only assassinate opposite faction characters. It's like the game was designed as a big box party game, but then turned into a TCG where they had to add a bunch of deck building restrictions to make the game function as intended.
i feel like the process of reverse-engineering digital card games as physical card games like turning Ganbarizing into a dice game that activity gave me the lateral thinking to do the reverse engineering process in reverse. to do the evil symbol or peace sign in Tabletop Simulator you either rotate the hand to point at yourself or wave it side to side to make the peace sign. it's actually a format where you could have access to unopened Austin Powers packs and all expansions if they kept it up the same game same rules for all three movies.
Yu-Gi-Oh technically is 25 years old in Japan, since it started at 1999, hence why they been showing off their"Quarter Century" logo all over the place.
Another thing you might’ve noticed, namely with the starter deck… Dr. Evil’s deck, doesn’t have that many evil characters… Aside from that lady who attempted to steal the Heineken. The rest are people tied to the joke about the Rocket. Wanda McLuff is probably the most neutral character in that movie… On the bright side, there are more evil characters in the booster packs, like Mini Me, Mustafa, and Fat B---…. Also, weirdly… Austin’s deck has more assassins than Shaggers, while Dr. Evil’s deck has more shaggers than Assassins. Which is odd, considering Evil’s points come from the assassins, while Austin’s come from the shaggers.
I've finally found the only people who's love for dragon shield mattes surpasses mine.. Groovy vid as always guys! I've always been interested in some sort of card game with alternate wincons but I think netrunner has been the only one to ever do something like that right lmao Do yall have a PO box or something I can send out a 2000s inspired indie card game to? We just funded on KS and I'd love to get you guys a copy
So, you may have noticed some of the cards have rockets on them… Well, if you play one, if any of the players opposing you have a card with a rocket on it, they can play it from their hand instantly… And this continues until someone doesn’t have one, or just chooses not to
@ Well it wasn’t included in the main rules… The guy who I learned this rule from (Chad Rocco of Familiar Faces CR) had to find it online. Edit: Oh wait, it is… It’s just not written on the cards

That's actually hilarious that you can theoretically play the Austin Powers tcg on tabletop simulator
One of the ones I've been waiting for. I thought this game was from 2001 but very fun watch. Also the sexual tension between CarlxConnor grows
Groovy baby! Who do you think is the top?

Big facts
In the evening up section of the rule book, before you even up you can discard any number of cards before you draw back to 6. So you cant get stuck
Oh.... lol
Welll… that makes sense
I love that the Trump impression halfway through just started sounding like Droopy Dog.
Also, comic book guy from the Simpsons
Thank you, Decipher for such a wonderful card game. All the games Decipher made were bangers. Except some of the bad ones they made.
Oh, and you guys know that there's a Teen Titans CCG, apparently? And have you looked into My Little Pony CCG? 😉😉
Yes, we actually already have the Teen Titans one!
@TheTestTable1 Nice! Looking forward to that one! It looks hideous to me, but I've heard the game's alright.
