  • "The World health organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a pandemic. COVID 19 stands for coronavirus disease 2019 and is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals including cats and bats. Common human coronavirus typically causes a URTI, like the common cold. Most people get infected with one or more of these viruses at some point in their lives. The human coronavirus infection typically resolves on its own with basic rest while feeling miserable.
Rarely, the coronaviruses that infect animals can evolve and become a new human coronavirus which then infect and spread between people. Important examples of these type of coronavirus include severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus, SARS CoV for short in 2003 and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus also known as MERS."

@@AIOUINFO I know that our immune system during COVID-19 can either stop the COVID-19 virus cells in the lungs - such as the macrophages - or it can damage the alveolar cells and make the disease worse - like what happens with the immune cells like the interleukines and TNF-a, and lead to deadly ARDS, and this can happen when the number of viral cells outnumber any immune cells that are recruited to kill off the viruses, right?

In general I like your videos but I think its important to say that the 5% mortality rate is not accurate since many people with symptoms aren’t getting tested. In many places is advised to NOT go to get tested if your symptoms are mild so the infected people could be double or triple and the mortality rate much lower.
I saw studies and stats by countries that tested everyone like south Korea and is expected that the mortality rate would be 1% or less. 0.66%
This for sure changes from country to country as you say.

I haven´t watched the whole video but I think the mortality rate is completely wrong. Because there are asymptomatic people and some other people with symptoms are treated at home and not tested, the number of infected people is much higher than the official number is most countries. In Spain is estimated by the Imperial College of London that more than 1.7 million people are infected despite the official number of 136.000 thousand. If we get the official number of cases, the mortality rate is going to depend on the number of tests and in Spain only the worst cases are actually tested. It´s estimated that the actual mortality rate is around 1-2%, depending on how good the health system is and how saturated is.
