- The way to the perfect Winter Kitchen.
That's the name of this video where I go through how I built my winter kitchen. It has been a long way to go. This is actually version three of the winter kitchen. This time it landed in the perfect winter kitchen. It is optimal for melting snow in on the winter tour. When the touring skis come forward and it carries into Sarek during the month of February on winter tours where the cold goes well below zero, I don't think the gas stove delivers enough power. Then I think that the petrol kitchen is far, far more efficient. The snow melting kitchen is built on the Omnilite Ti burner which weighs in at 230. It is one of the lightest multifuel burners on the market. That means I can have two with me, nice to have one in reserve in case things start to go wrong on the winter mountain inside Sarek. The rest is DIY / MYOG, I have soldered together the heat shield and the kitchen rack using a gas burner and zinc anode. I drive with both Primus burners and Primus fuel bottles. As a pan, I have Primus PrimeTech 3l. This efficient pan from Primus enables you to be out a little longer on the hike or pack with a little less gas, as the built-in heat exchanger on the bottom makes it up to 50% more efficient than traditional pans for gas burners.

Jag kör på Biltemas 4-taks bensin. Den är väldigt ren och bra pris. Pålitlig 👍 Bra idé där om video med olika bränslen
Not sure if the reason for you using Primus over MSR or Optimus. Some rate MSR XGK Ex or Optimus Polaris as the most reliable. Personally I do not like the fact that Primus has a built in rinse needle. However I like the threaded connection of the fuel hose compared to MSR strange push-in connection.
Mostly for the weight and that it is very efficient, it doesn't have that high of an effect but gets rid of a little gasoline in relation to the snow it melts.
@@Fjall-Anders fair point. In my first comment of course I meant that Primus lacks the built in rinse needle that MSR and Optimus Polaris has. I have not tried the Polaris and not really the Primus either. However I have tried the Trangia X2 which seems to be a Primus in all its major parts. I am not sure it is my Stowe or if it is a general flaw but I feel the effect is quite low. I need to do a comparison with my MSR XGK. Anyway thanks for your great videos and your generosity in sharing ideas.
@@SkogsHasse Jag gissar att du är svensk då du heter SkogsHasse🙂 Primus Omnilite TI har låg effekt men är däremot väldigt effektivt. Den gör alltså av med relativt lite bensin till den mängd snö den smälter. Men det tar längre tid än många andra kök. Jag brukar dessutom köra på ca 75% pådrag då det ger ännu mer effektivitet och jag behöver ännu mindre bensin på mina turer.
@@Fjall-Anders Haha, ja det där är mest ett skämt med mina barn. Jag har blivit inspirerad av dina videos och kanske ska försöka lägga ut några egna på ämnen som jag tycker saknats bra videos på. Har ganska bra koll på friluftsliv i låglandsterräng och grisigt väder i söder så kanske kan jag addera något värde. Har testat en del prylar under ganska lång tid och har lite åsikter kring kängor, byxor, jackor mm. Vem vet kanske kommer det en video på den sidan:)

@@Fjall-Anders No, I haven´t. I crossed Finmarksvidda (120km) last Feb. One route many people follow is North-South (or viceversa) from Finse to Haukeliseter (120 km). For logistic reasons I will do a circular one starting in Finse that is 173km. After watching your wonderful videos I definitively want to go to Sarek (maybe next winter). Thanks for posting.
