    What's the drive and hike like in April and May? thinking of going with my 1 year old and wife.

      In general the roads are pretty good. Unless we get a big storm, which can still happen in certain areas. Hiking might be difficult due to all the snow melt, it ends up being very muddy. If hiking is your goal I’d make sure that the weather is still cold enough that the snow hasn’t all melted or wait a bit longer and come in late May or June for better weather and less mud.
