- This is still very early days news, but apparently there has been a leaked rumour that Pixar's 2027 movie is set to be an original piece, a musical about Ducks. I have my thoughts. Both on the concept of Pixar doing a movie about ducks as well as doing a musical, but also the legitimacy of this leak. So come join me as I tell you all the details shared, where these sources and come from, and why I am not 100% convinced that this project is a good idea or even real. We'll fid out with a little more time. But here's everything we know so far regarding the fact that There Are Rumours About A Pixar Duck Musical...

...So, do you believe it to be real? And want me to cover leaks in the future or wait until official trailers? - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
So.. you think this is real? And if so, are you onboard with a Pixar duck musical, or would rather something else...?
Yeah actually.
FIRST
I’m both nervous and excited.
“Duck”
I love ducks so it better be good I wonder if it'll be anything like that blue sky film RIO
I would believe they're making one or the other, but something doesn't seem right combining the ducks and musicials. I'd need to see a trailer before I can judge it fairly, though.
Same here.
even then, pixar's trailer/marketing team has been pretty bad since Inside Out when it comes to getting people excited for their movies
_“Something doesn’t seem right combining the ducks and musicals”_
A profound quote indeed
you could say the same about lions and musicals
Hugh Neutron's favourite musical will finally be real
you know your down on your luck when your ripping of ILLUMINATION.
Those aren't ducks on the thumbnail! (lol)
As someone with pet ducks, I would very much love a musical about ducks regardless of how crappy it is.
That's Piper
@@pennysanchez7656 Ye, Piper the sandpiper
I think he changed it
@@Dora-xi5ob still not a duck.
That’s not a _duck,_ that’s a
PELICAAAAAAAAANNNN
Hopefully Pixar makes Ducks much different than Migration as they don’t need to copy Illumination!
I'm more amazed by the fact that Pixar is going with this idea, Pixar planned a movie about a pair a pair of newts that had to mate since they were the only surviving members of their species, it was going to be called Newt, but it was canceled since Rio came first and its plot was very similar and they didn't want to make a similar movie to its competitors
One would argue that Coco was very similar to The Book of Life, but aside from taking place in Mexico and taking place in the land of the dead and the whole Mexican Day of the Dead they aren't that similar
Danggg a musical? I never heard them do one in their entire existence.
Coco(ok yeah not a musical but there are a lot of songs)
@@theinfernus9912 lol ik I was just criticising it
Name one
Coco: Am I a joke to you?
@@Simbala-bq5vy name two
It would be a nice subversion if the movie wasn't even about ducks and it was just a surname of a human family or something
The premise sounds obnoxious, tbh. A musical about birds that are not generally known for having pleasant singing voices, what exactly can you do to make that enjoyable?
…do you seriously think they’re not just going to GIVE them good voices?
They made penguins sing in Happy Feet, so I don't think that's gonna stop them
@aidanmallon9879 no, of course they're going to load it up with talent, but I can't think of any way they could still make it watchable, let alone good. Migration would have been panned 15 years ago, it just happens to look better next to most of what's coming out these days.
@@notimportant3033 yeah, but that wasn't a Disney movie, and it was directed by George Miller who presumably had full creative control. I doubt if anyone at Pixar has any real creative control anymore.
Honestly it would actually be fairly amusing if these ducks speak like ducks and then they sing and is like... Professional Broadway people lol
I just can't stop thinking about the Tumblr thread that made the rounds a while ago with this premise.
I feel like this would be cute as a short like piper
This is going to be Pixar's answer to Chicken Little
I have to wonder though, will this be the moment when Disney merges Pixar into the Disney Animation studio? Because this sounds way more like something DA would produce (well, it sounds more like an Illumination film, but still).
Would they even name it Ducks, though? I mean, it’s more of a Pixar title than a Disney title, since even Disney’s one-word titles for animated films aren’t quite as on-the-nose as this
@@aidanmallon9879 I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas around. It's just such an odd premise for a Pixar movie, even by current era standards.
I hope not
@@aidanmallon9879not to mention that Illumination's Migration is actually called Ducks! in other markets, though in their respective languages, for example in Spanish Migration is called ¡Patos! (lit. Ducks!). I suppose Pixar's Duck movie will be renamed into other languages, that usually happens a lot
Illumination literally made a movie about ducks not too long ago so it may be that
Wait is pixar gonna rip off illumination now?-
Movie: *possible ducks*
Thumbnail: * pelicans*
That's not their standards
Seems promising
You know...if Disney (or Pixar) really wanted to make a movie about ducks, even if it was a musical...they could just make a DuckTales movie. I'm sure plenty of people would pay to see that, especially since the 80s show got a movie, so why not the reboot too? It's even an IP, which is the only thing that matters to Iger; the idea's just perfect, right? RIIIIGHHHT?
*Migration The Musical*
I think the reason why it seems questionable is because usually a pixar movie is based around a "what if" idea where the characters only make sense as they are and you couldn't get the same story with humans as the main character. The "leak" doesn't provide that "what if"
We got something bad with Duck Duck Goose, something neutral with Migration, so by all conceivable logic, this will be good.
Oh boy a duck musical but the one I will stick with is the duck got any grapes!
I'm with ya on that one
yosss
So a musical about birds?
I wonder where I've seen this before...
*(Rio flashbacks)*
Wait a minute.
Are they copying Migration?
That’s Funny. Pixar ain’t so big when it comes to animated musicals that is usually Disney’s tradition.
The fact that this was announced after Illumination released a movie about ducks which did decently well at the box office just indicates that Disney is at the point of copying Illumination for ideas. ILLUMINATION!!!
Migration Rip Off
Leafie Hen into the wild is my favorite bird movie. It's made in South Korea and had some Pixar crew working on it.
The main character is a smart chicken and her crush is a really chad looking mallard duck.
Oh yeah. It’s based on a nice book!
As much as I'm surprised that Pixar is branching outside of their usual formula and creating a full fledged animated musical film aside from Coco, this premise just feels very basic. I hate to believe that Pixar decided to make this announcement just 3 months after Migration's release and said we're going to do our own animated duck movie but with musical numbers in the mix but that's what it feels like. I mean, for one we've seen animated musicals with talking animals breaking out into song before so this idea is really no different than what preceded it. What I think they should do is use the Inside Out/Elemental method and be more abstract with the concept of music. Much like how Inside Out dove deep into the philosophical and theoretical nature of the human psyche by using personified emotions as the main characters, this film should explore what makes music such an essential part of the human spirit by not only making it the basis for a musical but having it be seen from the perspective...of sound itself. A musical where song and dance numbers are performed by anthropomorphized genres of music. Doesn't that sound more interesting than singing ducks? And fit more in line with Pixar's creativity?
If the ducks speaks like real ducks and when they sing, it's a human voice; that would be funny. Maybe the producers could do a story like The trumpet and the swan; one of the ducks is deaf. When he sings, his voice is beautiful but he can't heard her. The duck has trouble to fly, could get lost in the woods and try to find his family. Add action, drama and pretty animation. Sounds like a cute story to me 🥰
Yeah as a duck's enthusiast I neither see how a musical about ducks could be interesting. Well I would watch a movie about a granny feeding the ducks at the park and befriend them and suddenly he stops coming to the river so the ducks go in the city to search him. Idk, it would break the migration trope that is absolutely boring
Hey Dazz, have you seen the trailer for The Wild Robot yet??
It’s Ducks the musical, it’s a spinoff of Cats the musical.
Pixar and musical in the same sentence? Something ain’t quite right ..
Love the background music lol IYKYK
There is something I would like to confess. I ate duck last Friday. It has haunted me and I am very ashamed of my actions as someone who used to own partial custody of a duck. I feel nauseous thinking about it and apologize for my actions
Hear me out: it’s a musical, it’s about ducks, but it’s not an original concept. Pixar’s Ducktales: the Musical.
Hummm ducktales 2017 😏😏😏
that's not a musical
Another movie with talking animals... 🙄
Bird
Am I crazy or do studios just pick random things to make multiple projects on.
First Pinocchio had like 4 different movies in like a year and now this year we have not one, but possibly 2 duck themed projects??
Sounds good.
(Just don't make the ducks square and it should work)
(sees thumbnail) That's not a duck it's a PELICAN!!!!!
every time i hear anything duck adjecent to pixar or disney i just assume its related to either ducktales itself or like darkwing duck . and like tbf of all the animals ducks are probably the closest to being something one can play around with the design and movement to fell more human without a lot of work but like i really hope if this is real and a duck movie is coming that maybe its playing more around with the symbolism or like maybe a version of the beanstalk story even though thats usaully a goose and not a duck. i dunno there is stuff that can be done with it so i guess well have to see.
"Millions of Sequels"
Has only two sequels coming up and we haven't had a sequel since Toy Story 4 in 2019.
2 companies can make a movie about the same animal and the 2 could have such different stories
I will say, I've been waiting for years for Pixar to make a full-length movie about birds. But seeing clips of their shorts in this video reminded me that it would be nice if they could make a true comedy film. We've had a lot of crying in movies lately, it's about time we had some good laughs and heartwarming messages.
Shiiiit they might be back
why the heck doesnt Pixar at least try to make a kids book into an animated movie for once instead like maybe look for a duck book to turn into a movie
What about Ducktales? That's one of my fave cartoons
Dang
When you're a duck, you're a duck all the way, from the first time you quack, to the last egg you lay...
Bird movies are bombing at the box office
for me they should resume Newt's project, since it seems that it was also almost completed
Pixar going into musical territory like Disney's been doing?
I'm in
I mean Happy Feet exists & I enjoyed that so it could be a hit, or miss.
I LOVE HAPPY FEET
Here after the inside out 2 posters dropped, thing another banger on the way
let’s see what the bird bring 😭😭😭😭
i mean we had book of life before coco and nobody even compared those
It's not a coincidence that they both have duck movies released around the same time... It's kind of like why abominable and small foot came out at the same time. One studio learned another studio was making a movie and tried to steal the plot and get ahead of them. Very likely the same thing that happened with these movies.
Disney pixar ducks yess
Wowie-zowie, should I be excited?
You mean pelicans?
Question but are you gonna talk about the new animated transformers movie?
I mean, a movie featuring Donald Duck and his family in the same Vain as a Goofy Movie would be interesting, but that would probably be a standard Disney movie, and it probably wouldn't be one modern Disney is interested in working on. They'd probably sooner work on a third Goofy movie that features Goofy as the Villian to make some point that was already made in 5 other movies.
Nahhh Pixar we already got Migration right here man 💀💀💀
idk
If it is happening maybe its even more weird and Pixar is going the adaptation route and doing "The Ugly Duckling"
Wasn't that one of the characters from Chicken Little? Not a good sign if that's the movie that comes to mind when thinking about this Pixar movie.
So no Cars 4 Until 2028
AI
If this is inspired by migration then
Flop like a duck in water
If Donald doesn’t make a cameo, we riot!
That's just it though. Animal characters are excellent for telling stories that translate across barriers like culture and language unlike a boring human protag. People always throw animal protagonists into " just for kids" territory, and i fucking despise people that do that to their core, vecause they're just embittered and uneducated on how dark and terrifying nature is. I want to see more watership downs, more farthing woods, in this era. Not the cgi shitshow one from netflix though, that one can burn. But my hope is that pixar can be.. a little more risky here
You mean remaking rio?
Seriously... pixar is trying to make a duck musical!? yep, now they're secretly stealing ideas... at least Migration was good enough to have a different name.
Did (hazbin) Lucifer get invited into the moive idea pitch meeting, by any chance? 🤨🤔
Animated movies based on animal are never good, especially musicals (in my opinion)
Some Reason I Feel Like They Might Be Doing This Coz Of Migration Also I Haven't Watched A Single Second Of This Video Yet
Will we see Christine Weston Chandler's duck in this film
YESSSS PLEASE
Pixar making the GOOD version of Migration. I'd be down with that.
Firstly Migration was good to begin with
Secondly this is modern Pixar, it’s going to be bad-
I thought Migration was mid-tier, but I rather have that movie over those freaking Minions!
@@the_screaming_cherry3678
Firstly, no it wasn't.
Secondly, modern Pixar is still making banger movies.
@@googamp32 firstly yes it was
Secondly *cough cough* Elemental
@@the_screaming_cherry3678
Firstly, no it wasn't.
Secondly, Elemental was a masterpiece!
one of the first people here
Isn’t Pixar owned by Disney home of the biggest Duck themed family via their temperamental fowl ?
I’m obnoxious about this idea but I’m more excited for a Pixar movie than a Disney movie cause Disney does Pixar dirty
This is what happens when you have Migration at home
First?

You might want to check yourself, your not first.
