Luv your idea of Muslim friendly concept restaurant. Sarawak is unique, because we can eat, sing, laugh, dance, drink together all at the same place and moment.
Congratulations on your beautiful concept, wish you more success in the coming days. Back to your video, you have almost covered everything except the beautiful serving plates made of natural local materials, I wish you had explained more about them. Good luck.
I’ll be arriving in Kuching next week. I have my visa approval, excited to have Malaysia as my home. I’ll be visiting Jak Ma’an soon and bring friends!
I have enjoyed watching your videos and I will be arriving in Kuching for the first time this weekend and staying at the Waterfront Hotel near Carpenter Street. I look forward to trying your cafe.
@@GlobalGibbon Nick, my wife and I absolutely loved your new cafe. The food was great and the rice wine you introduced me to was also good. We really enjoyed the new cafe and appreciate you taking time out to talk to us as we consider where we want to spend our retirement. We wish you all the best.
nik you should register your restaurant with the sarawak tourism department and advertise it in europe especially netherlands...........draw big tourist crowds
All the best and success to your restaurant in Kuching. Hope to visit it one day. The interior decor is very tastefully unique and beautiful. You guys looked good, how's Milow.
@@GlobalGibbon I hope you don't mind little suggestions, you can display your wife's beautiful accessories on a wood panel near the cash register for sale, you can also create a new special Bidayuh style laksa Sarawak on the menu. And since it's a Muslim friendly menu, you can even create special virgin mocktail for those who don't drink alcohol, you can start with Mojito, very refreshing to go along with the spicy food. 😀
@@GlobalGibbon And once your Jak Man (let's eat, jom makan) restaurant is established, you can commission someone to do paintings of the most popular dishes, to highlight the cuisines of the restaurant, to give more centre and focus point of the establishment. In the meantime, your restaurant, menu, style of cuisine is already well thought and actually perfect. It just needs to attract more day to day regular customers. 😀
i APPROVED this restaurant, as a bidayuh person, this is one of my fav bidayuh restaurant. Please add a new menu, Sambal Sorai or known as Stir Fry Lemongrass
I hope you already have a swing that is made of belian wood. It baffles me its strength. Overweights like me marvel at it. Or at least have few jati stools. Apart from live music, please have pipe in ethnic music❤.
just wondering on you a few days back. Thanks God both of you are ok and doing fine. Congratulations on your Restaurant hope it's popular among tourist. You can introduce the same concept of restaurant or Frenchise it in Peninsular or rather all over the world.
Hi Magdeline, great efforts by you & hubby, Nick! By the way, I think you can be considered an Iban as your dad is a mixture of Eurasian & Iban, right?
both of you speak fluent lingua sarawak national language of sarawak (33 tribes).......and international language world of sovereign nation of sarawak.
We are Non Pork. All our food dishes are prepared without alcohol or pork products. We do not have any halal certificate, as we do serve alcohol from our bar😉
Please don't serving an alcohol at your restaurant. Not for pork free only but alcohol free also because it is not good for our healthy and nation..hope your business success in future..
Thanks for the feedback. However, rice wine and other alcoholic beverages are a big part of many vultures and communities, so well keep serving those😉 We know it’s not for everyone, but that’s okay - we don’t force anything onto anyone.
Congratulations to both of you for opening bidayuh concept of Restaurant.May God bless you and family always.

Hey, that’s right. Mag is officially Iban😉
There is one jak maan in Serian,is it the same owner.
That’s a food court called Jak Man. Slightly different spelling, not the same owners😝
JAK MAN tiak, toin mok pilai.Kuduas oni ogik Nik?😅.
I hope you will open a restaurant in KL serawak food
Who knows what the future might bring!
Great try…l will drop by …
We'd love to see you!
👍👍👍👍👍
I think KL doesn't have a serawak restaurant.
I think there might be a few. Surely there are many Sarawak stalls in KL
🤔🤔 many serawak yes but no restaurant
both of you speak fluent lingua sarawak national language of sarawak (33 tribes).......and international language world of sovereign nation of sarawak.
Normally in KL people open a restaurant in mall to laundry money
I heard that too! We hope to just earn a bit of money🤣
Nou, dan moeten we eens langskomen voor een broodje kroket en een glas karnemelk ;-)
Als je dat meeneemt dan gaan we dat samen oppeuzelen!
Where in kuching?
Kuching is the capital of the Malaysian state of Sarawak. North West Borneo😉
@GlobalGibbon where is the restaurant in kuching

Great question. But I am not Muslim 😉
Too mahai
6 beers for RM30 is reasonably cheap! 😝
